  1. So nothing to do about "Winter is coming"?
  2. Always pay her at the end of month? 4 times 2000 baht, 6 times 3000 bath, 20 times 30k baht, 21 times 29K baht, 22 times 25k baht
  3. so if I move back, I cant visit for 179 days? 😄 It is 15 months for my wife to get family reunion, so we will travel back and forth until then.
  4. The best thing with Thailand, is the possibility to live cheaply, with family, and also do some travelling from north to south relatively safely, if you do not think too much about the traffic here which is horrible. Food is one of the most important things for me to thrive, to be able to find some ingredients that can spice up the local food a bit, with western style and taste. I'm not a big drinker, but some quality booze, beer and wine for the right occasion is also great together with some friends once and awhile. However, I have no problem to be at the farm two weeks straight without leaving our land, plenty of things to keep myself busy, and if my wife goes with family shopping without me, even better, I can do one month or two. But at some point, I will require a trip for a holiday.
  5. So that was you, I thought that was another member here who nick name starts wity Y 😄
  6. There is good people, and there is bad people, and even those who is of good and bad mixture, depending of the present circumstances. I prefer a 80/20 mix to spice things up a bit.
  7. So what improves your life in Thailand? Everything is not like back home where we come from, wherever or whatever that is, we need to adjust and also improve a few things while living here.
  8. Click bait, and we suck it up!
  9. When you start seeing people as humans, you might discover something valuable,
  10. I thought you where half thai? At least what you have been writing before, made me think so
  11. Even worse, you cant fire them, because their union protects them, and makes everyone life at work miserable
  12. A good life and quality life is all about your mindset, nothing else. There is people in wheelchairs, who go out and share happiness to other people, and you have those who is nothing wroing with, and just cant appreciate anything in their life. Everyone have or had their share of struggle in life, so what makes you different from everyone else?
  13. All the previously budget hotels I used to stay at, have now doubled their prices, and to be fair, it is not worth it anymore. Amara in Silom still have decent prices except busy weekends and days, and have ok breakfest. Still managed to get Chatrium at 6k included breakfest middle of January, which is ok for the time being.
  14. All those things can also protect innocent good people from abuse and corruption. And in theory stop drug cartells, but as we see, they just got new tools to continue their dirty business, by inventing digital valutas
  15. I do agree with you, but it is as good as Thailand can offer in Bangkok, as far i know, and in my price range. Stayed at Marriot Queens park, and the only thing worth staying there is Goji bar and restaurant. As long there is not to much Chineese, Indian or Arabs in the breakfest area, Im pleased these days. Sorry to say, but, thats how it is
  16. You mean,, why would intelligent life stop by? Intelligent life, would most likely send an unmanned spacecraft to investigate our planet, like we are doing to search space for life and other exo planets 😉
  17. There is a few good 4 stars and even 4,5, but so far no 5 stars really. But even the classical 5 stars hotels back in Europe can be deleted as well, but then it is different criterias coming down to, staff, roomservice etc. Last experience at Chatrium in Silom was quite good, and I would say it was close. Anyway, it is the total experience that matters, and for the price, Chatrium Riverside is one of my favorites now.
  18. What is good health? Good health is not given everybody, but we can do something to maintain what we have as long as we can, and to be true, many expats, do a really bad job to even try to maintain what they got, or improve it, when they first got off work, and have all the time in rest of their life, just focusing on improving their life. What is a good quality life when you reitire? Thats the question, and it doesnt matter if you have some health issues, life can still be good, or?
  19. Cant say my living in the moment can relate to thai cultural self destruction, or western abuse of toxins. I was more on the physically adventure doing extreme sports, chasing good money in oil business, and also made a few companies, because I had some extra energy, which kicked back later in life with stressyndrom and chronic disease. Being broke a few times, was not difficult back in the 80 and 90ies when still young, and it was possible to turn it back around, and still secure your retirement. I feel it would had been worse now being broke and set back to zero.
  20. Just for your information, what you call sheeple, is what makes societies go around, and make other lives easier, so they can succeed. I couldn't had done half of what I have done in my life, if there wasn't people who where willing to get up 5 in the morning, spend 2 hours to get to work, work 8 hours 5 days a week at monimum wages, and again, spend 2 hours back home, and at the end of the month have nothing left. Vote labour party in hope they do what they promise, and for then, when nothing improves vote for a right wing bastard like we see know. That's a steeple, a mistreated sheeple
  21. There is Asians in Spain to, and all kinds of women, and also possible to bring your wife to Spain.
  22. Being old is all about appreciating and celebrating you still alive and kicking. Being young was more about living in the moment, now, as much as possible, as fast as possible, without consequences
  23. I was more on the sustainable relationship part. I'm fine with a farmer girl in Thailand which gives alot of freedom to travel, and do what we want, since labour is cheep, and we have trusted people to take care. In Brazil, I would had lived in an a appartment in a city, and would prefered my woman to work, and they actually make decent money in Brazil, compared to here in Thailand, who only get "poket" money.
  24. I'm sorry, I do not see beautiful girls everywhere in Thailand, but have to admit Nakhon Sawan I had the experience you just described every time I came for servicing my motorbike. Wherever I turned, there where girls, alot of girls, beautiful girls. So if I was single again around my prime age, definitely would head for Nakhon Sawan. Korat not to bad to, but there was mostly university girls I saw, and they really do not turns me on to much. I liked Brazil, plenty of educated women, who had work, and interested.
