  1. Through his bellicosity, Trump has undermined any agreement to expand the US military presence, which before all this no doubt would have easily taken place. The Danish PM strikes me as a smart and intelligent leader (her move to deport muslims shows she is far ahead of Trump in stabilizing her society).
  2. This is inaccurate and incomplete. Initially, the agent was not positioned in front of her vehicle. What happened was she reversed and then pulled up with the agent directly in front of her. That's why early video shows her wheels turned sharply to the left, before she turns them to the right. Only after she begins to move forward towards him then does the agent pull his weapon and fire.
  3. They watched. And they know what the truth is. For them, this presents an opportunity to hide and wipe off the front pages the ongoing story of Somali daycare center fraud. Walz in particular is going to prison for this.
  4. Dreaming of another binge of BLM burning, looting, and murder? I doubt the country will put up with that again.
  5. Why do you think I care about anything Trump says. I don't. He's an incompetent. His words are just as incoherent and garbled as many of the posters to this topic.
  6. Unhinged ranting. Seems to mimic the composition of a drunkard.
  7. This in itself is fevered. Hallucinatory. Extremist.
  8. She was being detained for blocking the ICE convoy. Agents can and in several instances already seen this year remove people from impeding them in the performance of their duty, and that includes pulling them out of the vehicle. Instead of following lawful instructions, she pointed her vehicle at an ICE agent, grazed him, and attempted to flee. Local authorities do have jurisdiction, however, in towing away the deceased's car.
  9. In fact, ICE can detain her for impeding their carrying out of their duties. And this was what she was doing. She had used her car to block an ICE convoy. Nobody stopped her. She had already stopped herself and placed her car sideways in front of the convoy.
  10. Video shows the agent did not draw his weapon until the vehicle started towards him. But it doesn't matter. If she was trying to flee and the agent believed she posed a threat to himself or other officers, then deadly force is justified. This is settled law from a Supreme Court 1985 decision, summarized thusly: Primary Holding Under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, a police officer may use deadly force to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect only if the officer has a good-faith belief that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others. https://archive.is/P7wNE
  11. The mayor's statements and threats put him in violation of 18 U.S.C. 111 -- Application Of Statute To Threats, which reads: 'Section 111 of Title 18 punishes anyone who "forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates or interferes with any person designated in 18 U.S.C. § 1114 or who formerly served as a person designated in § 1114, while engaged in or on account of the performance of his/her official duties."' He should be arrested and charged. https://www.justice.gov/archives/jm/criminal-resource-manual-1565-forcible-act-required-18-usc-111-application-statute-threats
  12. Hysteria, exaggeration, hyperbole.
  13. Prawit and Prayuth did a good job in governing this country, especially during Covid. Those of us who lived here during the pandemic had far more freedom of movement and access to shops, stores, and other facilities than in the Western world and China. The former arrested you for being outside your house, while the Chinese, remember, welded you into your apartment. We had it pretty good and Thailand was never ravaged as so many other countries.
  14. She had blocked an ICE convoy. That's why her vehicle was parked at an angle across the street. When ICE approaches, she reverses and then goes forward aiming at the agent who is positioned at approximately 11 o'clock in relation to the her vehicle. When starting forward, the front tires are aimed directly at the agent. Her front left tire can be seen to be spinning, because it didn't grab the pavement due to ice on the road--had it gripped the road, she would have mowed him down. Only at that point, after the vehicle is moving towards the agent does the agent then draw his weapon and fire.
  15. The purchase idea will be a no go. Had Trump not blustered and threatened, then an expanded US presence with more control over Greenland and its territorial waters, which this is all about, no doubt could easily have been negotiated. As is, there is no way for the Danes to back down after Trump's threats.
  16. Clear as a bell that the ICE agent does not even pull his gun until she starts spinning her wheels and and driving towards him.
  17. Personally, I try to avoid meeting new people.
  18. I believe congress passed a law under Biden prohibiting the president from leaving Nato without congressional approval. Movement of troops was also limited. What it doesn't do, of course, is prevent the Europeans from scrapping the deal and demanding the US leave Europe. What if that is Trump's plan? Anger the Europeans so much that they demand an end to the US in Europe. Machiavellian Trump. Who'd a thought it?
  19. So here is somebody, from the wording, who does indeed want a stronger baht. Suspect that this is the official attitude as well--they don't want their strong baht "suppressed."
  20. All my physicians keep hours at hospitals. Where else am I supposed to go?
  21. Yes, these are the key questions, partially answered by the below. I think it's time to wait and see. https://x.com/FranciscoPoleoR/status/2007629162513854895
  22. In watching all this, I can't see evidence that the Maduro system has been ousted. Aren't the same people in place that were there yesterday? Just no Maduro. Who is in charge? How is the US going to run things if there are no US forces there? When Noriega was captured in Panama, US troops were all over the place. Same pretty much for Grenada. Those are the two "models" for this.
  23. I don't understand why this comment got three down votes. It is an undeniable fact that Maduro and Chavismo have impoverished Venezuela. People were eating shoe leather to survive. Maduro was in every way possible a disaster.
  24. If this is simply an "arrest" and an extraction of Maduro, it likely does fall within Trump's presidential authority. Much the same was used by GHW Bush to take Noriega. What it's going to unleash on the ground in the aftermath is what is important. There must be plan, right? If you just take Maduro and go home, Russia/China who are already there will establish control.
  25. Wonder what the lady president of Mexico is thinking right now?
