My camera with a suction cup drops off if exposed to strong sunlight on windscreen and I thought it was damaged the first time but luckily it was OK . Anyway to avoid any damage to camera or car I attached a small piece of line to the mirror bracket to catch it and stop it getting damaged . I try to park where windscreen shaded and use sunshade on the windscreen.

Europe accepts fully vaxed from thailand prior to 1.11 test&go. Belgium, austria and switzerland were the first. With full eu integration on 20.11.
nobody wants to see thai yellow book. It doesnt have qr code and no picture, but its high quality and difficult to forge (unlike thai vax certificates, which can be jusr photocopied). Might come handy as a back up, if somebody questions certificate or mor phrom crashes, losing your data
I will do a print out - do a web capture or something else as a back-up

Thanks for all the info . I have found that from January 2022 the EU accepts fully vaccinated travellers from Thailand provided they can show same on the Mor Prom App . This topic may therefore be closed .

Moldova no longer requires fully vaccinated travelers to present a pre-travel test. People can now travel to Moldova without having to self-isolate if they have one of the following: a vaccination certificate showing they are fully vaccinated, a PCR test within 72 hours before departure, an antigen test within 48 hours before departure, a COVID-19 antibodies certificate (valid for 90 days), or a medical certificate attesting they had COVID-19 in the previous 6 months.
thank you but I am travelling to Portugal , not Moldova and individual EU countries have different rules . Even so I have found that from January 2022 , the EU accepts proof of vaccination on the Mor Prom App.

I am a UK Citizen residing in Thailand and want to travel to Portugal in February but the entry requirements for Portugal currently state :
Entry Restrictions
Travellers who have been fully vaccinated and can provide a certificate connected to the EU Digital COVID Certificate gateway are exempt from entry restrictions.
Entry is suspended for all foreign nationals from outside the EU and Schengen except those holding a long-term residence permit of an EEA member state, immediate family members of EU or EEA nationals, diplomats and those travelling for study, family reunions, health or humanitarian reasons
Entry is permitted from Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Kuwait, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, UK, the United States, Uruguay, Hong Kong and Macau if the traveller is a permanent resident or citizen of those countries
Flights to and from South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and Zimbabwe have been suspended
Does anyone know if a vaccination certificate issued here in Thailand can be connected to the EU Digital Covid Certificate gateway . Last year the EU said it was updating this gateway to accommodate other countries so am wondering if Thailand is now accepted and / or can be connected to that gateway ???

There is very good and useful reason for changing / updating your driving licence address to your current address .
My financial advisor (whom is able to certify documents ) advised me that he uses the driving licence to inform client institutions when clients change their address and the Driving Licence is one of the only documents that is accepted (unless you have a yellow book or pink ID card ) since the Driving Licence is a government / legal ID document .

does this apply to a company owned house - or do the taxes paid by the company cover this ?

Maybe driverless motorbikes would bring the carnage down ?

make an appointment at Queen Sirakit hospital in satahip if you can get there ,i have used them for many years ,get my eye tests every three months ,i have a cataract in one eye and pressure in my eyes which could lead to gloucoma ,i take drops which keep the eye pressure normal ,its a good hospital ,good doctors ,far far cheaper than Bangkok Pattaya hospital.
Good to know Queen Sirakit can do the pressure test and far cheaper than Bangkok Hospital . I have peripheral glaucoma in one eye and also use drops to keep the pressure normal BUT try getting the "field test " and not many places can do this . Crazy really as both the pressure test and field test were given free included in my eye test in the UK at Specsavers when I went to get new driving glasses AND no charge when made with an order for prescription glasses . So, it does make you wonder if Thailand is really up to speed on eye tests and facilities for same !!!

This article only discusses the requirements for an OA visa, whereas most retirees use extensions based on a Non-Imm O Visa. General medical insurance with a specific level of coverage is a requirement for those people with an OA visa, but not for those using a Non-Imm O, unless things have changed since I last looked. Basically, the article is a red herring as it discusses what's needed to follow the route used by a minority of expats here.
only a matter of time before those insurance coverage levels are equalized for both O-A and Non Imm O .

The bank letter does not take long and the bank should know what you require.
Best to make small transaction deposit/withdrawal at same time as obtaining the letter and doing so on day of application.
(Letter can be obtained prior)
Also recent reports that Nong Khai required bank statements for the 12 months.
Someone dealing with NK can confirm.
Why a small transaction ? My bank does the letter, states the balance on the due date and the copy of bank book shows ALL transactions for the last 12 months .

So have you used the "affirmation of residence" to obtain Thai DL or purchase of car?
Car purchase yes - the dealer was quite happy (not that interested ) although at DLT the girl had to "refer to her supervisor " , it was accepted .

PEA quite easy to set up direct debit and with most banks done fairly quickly . You get the form , take it to the bank to get signed and then back to PEA for actioning .
PWA is a different matter - yes, can get direct debit set up but more long winded than PEA and with some banks , like Bangkok Bank , it can take an age . They told me 6 months ! After 6 months I was still paying bills directly and asked what had happened ? They told me they had no response from the bank to which I visited my Bank only to find out they had lost the paperwork and to start again !!! Brilliant !! We got there in the end but sometimes a bit like Spain "manana ". oh, one can pay PWA on Line but you need your bill.

Getting a COR from Immigration ,apart from requiring one to obtain driving licence , has almost become a no no - very difficult ! The reason is that many were using these certificates for the wrong purpose and some even illegally .
Best way now is to either use your yellow book if you have one OR get your lawyer to write up a Affirmation of Residence - in Thai ( for use in Thailand ) or in English (for use outside of Thailand ) My Thai version was accepted for boat registration and many other things as certified by the Lawyer. Unlike the COR from Immigration which is valid for 1 month , my COR/Affirmation of Residence is valid for one year . Also my English version is accepted by Pension Providers / Banks etc .

This is the correct answer.
Absolutely ! I wrote a post at the beginning of this pandemic when unemployment was starting to rise and suggested it would be better for the government to invest in training schools - plumbing / electrical / building/ car maintenance etc and all to european standard so that for the future Thailand might have properly trained entrepreneurs with qualifications instead of "anyone who can glue a piece of pvc pipe together being a plumber " !!!! oh and also a jack of all trades !

Thanks to all who gave me good advise here and hopefully passed on to others ! I eventually stuck with my previous provider 3BB and they installed at my new address .I was more than happy in the past with 3BB so saw no reason to change unnecessarily but certainly the info on wifi internet was useful .

No sympathy there ! If they only got their house in order in conjunction with the government , just think how much they would earn from installing speed cameras and prosecuting offenders . All sorts of activities detrimental to public / environmental safety that could be levied with fines . The list is endless.

The bottom line is - Thailand does not have enough vaccines ! That comes from a prominent Thai Doctor .

And obviously the connection speed you get will vary depending if your laptop has an Ethernet cable, or connects via Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, or 5 GHz. I think I once improved things by buying a better Ethernet cable. Makes your head spin.

" Meanwhile, the CCSA has approved the opening of two new sandbox areas in Chonburi province (Bang Lamung district, Pattaya City, Sriracha district, Koh Sichang, Na Chom Thian, and Bang Saray subdistricts in Sattahip district) and Ko Chang in Trat Province on February 1. Travelers will be allowed to move between the new and original sandbox locations within seven days of their sandbox stay, but they must book a seven-day SHA Extra Plus or AQ hotel with a two-time RT-PCR examination (on day 1 and day 5-6), with a limit of three hotels in the Sandbox area."
What a ridiculous complicated set of rules !! Anybody in their right mind will just go somewhere else other than Thailand .
Why on earth can't they just open up to all double vaccinated arrivals ???
