BYD opens first EV plant in Thailand, producing eight millionth car
Purdey replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
So it is a screwdriver assembly factory and none of the parts are actually made in Thailand. Is that right? -
Except for Rutnin, where I had two cataracts removed, I use my nearest hospital for diabetes testing and medicine (pills are paid for by my corporate health insurance). As others mention, there seems to be a thing in Thailand about selling pills at inflated prices for everything. Can't complain about the quality of doctors. When my prostate ballooned, I went to my local hospital and a famous 5 star hospital in town for a second opinion. Both said the same thing, which gives some confidence that I'm not going to pop off soon. More worrying was that I used to know a young man who was doing his medical degree. He could never answer my enthusiastic questions about his studies, telling me, "I took that exam last month and can't remember now."

Labour Set to Win General Election Landslide, Exit Poll Indicates
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I hope Labour has planned what to do if they are elected. The last time they went after rich people's money, Elton John and others moved to another country. They will have to allow foreign doctors and nurses in again. There aren't enough Brits qualified to do the work. -
Reconsideration of afternoon ban on selling alcohol in progress

Will encouraging factory workers to get drunk all day will not help the economy that much? The government cannot believe that the tourist numbers are enough to guarantee a lot more income? It will be the Thais who suffer. -
US government tempts RTA with fleet of F-16 fighter jets
Purdey replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
More toys for boys. Later, we will discover they can't be flown due to the cost of fuel, the lack of munitions, cost of maintenance and so on. They will look pretty for children's day though. Sad that the government apparently has vast financial resources for this type of purchase but drives the economy into the ground. -
Thailand's COVID-19 Surge Expected to Peak in July

Fortunately, they are a minority. Getting a PhD in any scientific subject takes a long time and then to become an expert in a field takes longer. I notice those shouting from the rooftops are usually not virologists or vaccine experts. Lots of real scientists who are experts in their field are worried about this minority screaming from the rooftops. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/vaccine-scientist-warns-antiscience-conspiracies-have-become-a-deadly-organized-movement/ https://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2023/09/19/deadly-rise-anti-science-book https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-02981-z (paid site but the headline says it all) -
Fauci Reveals Vaccine Conversation With Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That's simply untrue. This has been refuted many times. Also, Fauci didn't invent it. https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-aids-hiv-fauci-covid-pandemic-833586389602 https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2024/what-is-azt-aaron-rodgers-conspiracy-theory-hiv-aids-drug/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2023/06/22/no-azt-hasnt-caused-hundreds-of-thousands-of-deaths-fact-check/70321406007/ -

Sorry, didn't realize you have a research laboratory at home in which to do your own research. Or do you think googling conspiracy websites is "research"? -

An employer has the right to give employees a choice - do this or that or leave. Did you think employers have no rights? -
This is going to upset the government. Cheeky foreigners, doing their maths better that locals.

I can't think of an instance where a vaccine was forced into anyone. Yes, people were encouraged, cajoled, implored and so on, but not once has anyone tied someone down and forced the needle in. -
Everything Kennedy says cannot be trusted. His misinformation is the stuff of legend. As a recovering heroin addict and liar his own family does not recommend he propose himself a presidential candidate. https://www.factcheck.org/2023/11/scicheck-rfk-jr-incorrectly-denies-past-remarks-on-vaccine-safety-and-effectiveness/ https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2024-06-20/robert-kennedy-addict-reform-plans https://www.annenbergpublicpolicycenter.org/fact-checking-presidential-candidate-robert-f-kennedy-jr-on-vaccines-autism-and-covid-19/ .

Thailand's COVID-19 Surge Expected to Peak in July
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I was vaccinated and, when I tested positive, felt no serious effects. As a kid I had vaccines against polio, measles, and other childhood diseases and never was sick. I have read people seriously say that Bill Gates put microchips into vaccines to track people, without thinking that they have mobile phones that do it quite nicely thank you. I simply don't believe non-scientists making wild guesses based on internet gossip.. -

He should claim immunity. Umm, it works elsewhere.
