  1. The NON-RE notation means you entered using a re-entry permit.
  2. I would always opt for two dogs, so they can form a tag-team which is very useful when dealing with snakes and other interlopers. Also, they keep each other company. Here are my two: Leo & Chang
  3. The plot sounds a little like The Staircase (2022): Colin Firth stars as Michael Peterson in this true story. Michael, successful crime writer and budding politician, calls 911 claiming his wife had fallen down the stairs and is now not breathing. But when the police arrive the scene tells another story. Dragged a little in the middle with the French film connection but otherwise very good. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11324406/ Alternatively , a documentary series with the real people. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388644/ As viewed by French film makers. Thanks @Andrew Dwyer. I'll have a look at The Staircase.
  4. Interesting topic. When I first saw the title, I was expecting something totally different. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that "Big Ugly Drum Smoker" was not a reference to a British expat.
  5. I agree. Both Slow Horses & The Undeclared War were very enjoyable IMHO.
  6. Thanks for the update @MJCM. You are doing exactly what I would do. Give them the same as last year but have the 3 month statement and YHB in reserve in case they do ask for it. You may see a different officer this time who may not ask for the "extras". I never give them anything that they don't specifically ask for. Interesting to hear how this eventually pans out.
  7. Thanks for that Jo. Caught up with the final this morning. What a match, and as you say; what a leg!!!! Reminds me of that night in the 'Squirrel and Chicken'. I was on fire at the oche. It's about 30 years since I last had a game of darts. I brought them with me when I came to live here in 2009, but they've been lying in a drawer all this time, until I took them out a few minutes ago to take the picture. I was quite keen in those days. Here is a photo of my main set (right) and backup set (left). I doubt they will see the light of day again.
  8. I've just watched the first few episodes of season 1 (of 2) of Blood. It's a crime drama set in Ireland. I've enjoyed the episodes so far and it's well worth a look IMHO. Cast includes Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty). I got it from TGx. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8991526/
  9. I agree. I watched both seasons and thought it was very good.
  10. That is my guess as well, but plan for today is 1- Go to the Bank to ask about the 3 month statement 2- After Lunch go to the Amphur and see how difficult it is to get a new YHB for our current address. Will update at the end of the day You could also try the Chang Stadium office to see if their requirements are the same.
  11. @MJCM Is this at the Town Hall office or the one at the Chang Stadium? I renewed my extension based on retirement in mid October at the new office in the Town Hall complex and all I needed for proof of address was my wife's blue house book and her ID. Using the 800K in the bank, I never had to show a bank statement either, my bank book was enough. Maybe I need to think about getting a YB & ID card.
  12. I've just watched the first 3 (of 4) episodes of season 1 of Without Sin. Very good and well worth a look IMHO. It's a crime drama based in Mansfield/Nottinghamshire. Cast includes Vicky McClure (Line of Duty) I got it from TGx. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15680030/
  13. Thanks for the info re Nova. Haven't come across it before. Will take a look at it.
  14. Sorry can't answer your question, but this may be of interest to you. Crosswords | Online and free | The Guardian I was looking for crossword puzzle books and a friend pointed me to the above link, where you can interactively do crosswords, or you can print them out and solve them by hand.
