Got a 16 hour non stop flight coming up, did it before and tried some over the counter natural sleep aids (can't remember the name) but didn't work.
Anyone used any specific brand and found them to work?
Thanks not to suggest Mekong whiskey etc.
Thank you.

I have a VPN which l have been using overseas to watch the BBC etc.
Back in Thailand for a while and tried to download BBC iPlayer on a Huawei tablet. The VPN is set to the UK but when l go the download iPlayer in Google play store, it says 'app not available in playstore in your region'
Any ideas please?

We actually have such a machine but did not use it for a long time. We brought it from Switzerland as part of our container load. The 2 problems in Thailand are: 1. You need to buy high quality expensive water (we only use Mont Fleur) and since it takes quite a while to produce enough ice 2. it uses up a lot of electric energy, again expensive. In Switzerland you just use tap water (it is exquisite) and electricity is as well far cheaper than here.
Just to be clear...
You have an ice machine that you brought from Switzerland, you prefer Mont Fleur. However, the cost of electricity is expensive and the time to freeze water is long..
Also the shape of local ice is gross...
(Don't take offense)

I've had them from Villa but only found Villa 33 and Thonglor.

I make 'artisan' bread as l have have a Dutch oven and it's no knead.
I'll try for a crusty loaf in a square tin one day....
Thanks for your feedback.
I failed to add the image of what l

We use 'red' (photo) or that's what's in the freezer now.
Have also used 'Bruggeman' brand.
500g from Makro, I think. Keeps well in the freezer.
Why no sugar ? I use honey sometimes.
I see Bruggeman on LAZ, so may want to buy there if can't find locally.
Makro carries if you are near one, a bit cheaper.

Being a novice bread maker l didn't know there are different yeasts. I usually use the gold SAF instant yeast, but saw they have different types
I've ordered the red as l don't add sugar to my bread recipe but curious if anyone has tried it already?

Thanks mate. I reckon you would need strong wrists to use that whisk! lol. Do you pull it through the dough or something? They reckon never let a baker get close enough to strangle you....Arm's like they have you are toast lol. Will let you know how the it goes when I cut down the proofing time. Not even really sure if it is better to prove twice? I prove it in a bowl first....then punch it down, shape it and put on the tray and proof it again where the loaves rise into shape and full height
Kenny, I just use it basically as a slow whisk/stirrer for 2 - 3 minutes and don't proof mine twice.
It sounds like your making a more professional bread than mine.
Best of luck.

Oh mine rises alright, rises hugely actually it just deflates a bit in the oven when I hit it with the heat. Like it shrinks a bit or something. I do knead mine in a commercial mixer and I know I knead it thoroughly (but not too much). Done a bit more reading and I reckon it might be over proofing. The theory being if you leave it to proof too long, your yeast is basically exhausted by the time you put it in the oven, and it is no longer pushing upward or has the strength to keep it up. I reckon proofing in the fridge would help a lot and apparently makes for a better structure. Usually not organized enough to plan that far ahead.
The bread is always really nice, lovely texture and not cakey or doughy but really wish I could keep it at the height it is when it goes in the oven
I use a danish bread whisk as l only bake 1 at a time every couple of days and don't have a mixer..
Good luck and if you have the time let us know how you get on.

Hi Kenny,
I'm no expert by any means, but my bread (I posted here somewhere) wasn't rising as much as l expected, I watched a lot of videos and now proof mine overnight in the fridge and the results have really improved.
I think the proofing height will decrease when shaped?
Again, I am not an expert and this is for no knead bread in a dutch oven.

No, not a sourdough. The recipe calls it "Artisan bread". It does require kneading but the hardest part is leaving it to prove for 2 or 3 days before baking.
Now really does a will of iron! ????
Thanks for your reply, l leave mine to prove overnight in the fridge, maybe I'll let in prove longer next time.

On a macro level (no, not Makro level ????) worldwide wheat consumption is currently exceeding production - 787 million tonnes as opposed to 778 million tonnes.
Whilst 10% may sound relatively small, 77 million tonnes doesn’t. Couple that with demand already exceeding production and it isn't difficult to see shortages arising.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, China with its huge population is the largest consumer. (With India soon to become the world's most populous country I wonder if that will change?)
On a micro level, I have taken to baking my own with really encouraging results. Time is the biggest drawback but if you can spare a little it is well worth it.
Looks great, I've been doing the no knead bread for a while now.
Are yours pictured a sour dough?
Thanks

I do commercial quantities of bacon. I wouldn't freeze it. Better to put it in the fridge on a tray / rack and let it sit uncovered for 2 or 3 days. Your bacon flavor will intensify and easier to slice. I actually do mine in the oven very slow (about 140 C) for an hour or so, just when the bacon is starting to feel firm then let it sit in the fridge to dry for 2 days. Get great results on the slicer and absolutely no loss of flavor
What cuts do you do Kenny? As l said, I've being do only loin. What cut would you use for collar bacon?
Cheers.

Getting a little bored of eating loin bacon and only found 1 decent slab of belly pork in the last couple of months.

Is it called pork butt cut or shoulder here?
Thanks

Go to B-Quik, get them to do the professional battery test readout. It tells all, you don't have to buy their battery.
Think 2 years here batteries do go tits up, all depends on usage.
For few 100bht you can buy a battery "repair" charger on Lazada, it works really well getting the carp off the plates and giving it new life, l bought one and was impressed, I even got our dead bike battery back to life with it ....????
The last battery I bought was the new kid on the block, that gives a 2 year guaranty and is not expensive, called Amaron, it was recommended...
Many thanks for you feedback.
I was looking at those chargers on Lazada and didn't understand what the repair function was ... now l do.
I'll try a charger (6A is sufficient?)
Thanks again.

Looking for a little advice from more knowledgeable than myself.
The Panasonic battery on my pick up is low, not enough power to start the engine.
It was replaced 26/10/63.
I haven't used the truck on a long run (a few kms only and stop/start etc) for about 1 month.
Is it worth buying a battery charger or just get a new battery?
Thanks in advance.
