I can't be sure but I thought I've seen it in Big C...but maybe that's only cooking cream. you could of course bulk up the cooking creme with a bit of starch..potato starch in small amount might work
Thanks, l checked Big C (a mid sized store) yesterday and they only had the cooking cream. Yes l may have to consider some additives in the future.
Thanks again.

I make an basic chicken liver pate, no brandy, anchovies, spices etc and I'm happy with the results.
However, my Foodland here in Ramintra Bangkok has stopped selling the heavy cream (48 or 49% fat).
I tried the cooking cream and it didn't work out and ended up wasting the other ingredients.
Has anyone saw heavy cream suitable for pate?
I have checked Tops, Tesco and Big C to no avail.
Thanks.

Can you share your dumpling recipe, please? Did you make them with suet?
No problem,
I use the dumpling recipe in the link below as it calls for all purpose flour. The amount of water I use is 6 tbsps (sometimes add 1 more) and cold water from the fridge.
I use Atora suet from the UK which is available here in Lazada.

We have a water leak somewhere in the house and
called the MWA (water authority) and they sent a team and couldn't find it. We got an official MWA receipt when we paid for the survey.
They suggest we use cut out some of the original water pipe and redirect new.
Asked which type of pipe they showed a white pipe with thick walls which needs gluing.
I've only ever seen here:
Blue pipe which is pretty standard and glued.
Green pipe that requires a welding machine.
Black pipe that doesn't need glue and comes in long rolls
Has anyone saw white water pipe and any experience with it?
Thanks for any feedback.

Never thought that seeing a picture of Bangers 'n' Mash at 5am, would make me salivate so much.
It's been years since I eaten this, or any decent Sossidge.
Where did you buy them from?
Which area are you? It may be easier to suggest something based on your location.

l got a couple from Villa a while back, steak & kidney and chicken & mushroom and both were extremely greasy.
Not trying to be a downer but l wouldn't get them again.
Just my humble opinion.
Let me know if they have improved please.

4 pages of comments about Colman's English Mustard. Who would have thought it?
Many, many thanks to all the people who have messaged me about how to order it cheaply (I have replied to some but not all).
I will have some in my hands soon, thank you so much.
My ham sandwiches and home-made burgers are now going to be amazing (to me, but obviously not to the locals).
You could add a photo or 2 of your home made burgers to the 'food porn' thread to keep it alive.

Sorry, you got included into my reply to Ellie G by mistake.
13 hours ago, Ellie G said:An English dumpling is usually cooked for the last 15-20 minutes on the top of stew with a lid.
Use as an example 4ozs SR flour and 2ozs of suet( I use veg suet) salt & pepper and enough water to firm into as many dumplings required then put in the pot to cook.
Hope you can get suet in Thailand . Enjoy
Atora suet is available in Lazada

I find a similar problem with lots of dishes here that require hot fat/oil. It may not be the mixture at all. I have put it down to the fact that I can't seem to get a high enough temperature using the bottled gas, using Thai supplied pans. Even an electric hob here doesn't seem to produce the heat I remember in the UK. Maybe its also something to do with a high humidity and ambient temperate in the cooking area. Sorry can't be more helpful.
I had a problem with my oven when l was baking. It didn't get hot enough (the oven is electric), called the technician and he came and fixed it. He said that Techno have the temperature set low at the factory.
It works fine now.

It can be boiled or baked.
I tried the baking method last Christmas and it turned out well. However, I'll just boil it next time.
If I remember correctly it was Mali brand.

There will be a thermal fuse hiding in the winding wiring.
The fuses can be found on Lazada, the steady hand and eyesight required to replace them cannot.
However I bet you have a local Fix-It Man who can, for a fraction of the cost of a new fan.
Cheers Crossy, I'm blind as a bat and not steady any longer. So I'll take it to a fix it man.
Thank you.

Yeah, should contain just air.
We have a large tank that has a slow bladder leak, lasts about a month before it needs draining, Replacing it is one of those jobs that is waiting for me to get a Round Tuit.
Thanks again Crossy. Does it need to be from the pump manufacturer like for like or are they much the same?

These little tanks tend to have a bladder which may have sprung a leak if you are getting water at the valve.
Unscrew the tank (water and power off), shake out all the water and pump it up to 20psi. If you can actually pump it up then you may have a small leak which will last a while before needing emptying again.
The only real fix is to replace the tank.
Yes it was full of water, it should only contain air correct?
It will fill again with water so l think a new one is required.

The guy who last time serviced my water pump told me to make sure the pressure should be 20 psi.
The pump is constantly running today so when I tried to add pressure with a bike pump, dirty water came out of the air tank(?). Please see attached photos.
Is their anything l can do myself or is a service technician required?
Many thanks.

I bought some from Foodland but they weren't much cop. I'll have a look in Makro.

Hi, got a partially blocked drain pipe running under my house from the kitchen sink. The kitchen is in the middle of the house so I can't gain access, only from the end of the pipe. I have tried using various drain cleaners that you pour in and leave, then rinse 20 mins later, but these are not clearing the blockage properly. Is there a Dynarod or similar company in Chiang Mai? Can't find much via google search.....
Just a thought, but have you contacted your local Umphur, maybe they have access to a fiber glass snake or could possibly put you in touch with someone.

I can't recall ever seeing any place that rents anything. Not even a video store rental.
Can anyone think of any kind of rental available here in Thailand?
Please forget about bringing up ladies as that'd clearly be OT.
There used to be a video rental store next to the Bulls Head in Bkk about 15 yrs ago.
The way I have seen some local builders treat tools, l can understand why no place rents them out.
