    thank you

did they ask you if you want it the same day or you asked them/told them ?

    Please report back your experience.

At CW it's 200b and no option for same day service.

It's mail out and can take 1-2 weeks.

May not be an issue as might take you that long to get appointment at Transport office for your TDL Renewal.

I'm also doing mine soon and you may like to check out motor forum.

There is online test you can do.

In your mind with your IO!

As we all know there are NO hard and fast rules that pertain to every IO!

I suggest you give people a break and stop pretending that you are the "authority" on Immigration/banking etc, etc!

I always state that folk should check with their own immigration office.

There are approx 75 in Thailand.

I post what are the correct current rules for TM30 after trips to other locations including travel abroad.

Guessing you are unaware of the requirements.

The fact that some immigration offices do not follow the rules is unfortunate.

I was under the impression that the suspension of the TM 30 reporting for long term folk was only temporary because of Covid. ie they did not want lots of coughing people going to IO offices.

You are under the wrong impression.

    It's not temporary.

Samui is just another crackpot immigration office.

might head to Philippines or Malaysian instead, or Hong Kong, kind of thinking of the Philippines but man Vietnam would have been perfect, cheap and close by. Kind of sucks canada doesn't have good relations with them, maybe cause the vietnam war?

Just one person's opinion but for me it's a no brainer.

Saigon airport close to Bui Vien district 1 and fairly quick on bus from airport.

    20k dong.

I recently went return airfare 3500baht.

    The evisa is very simple.

3 business days for processing. $25usd.

. An immigration officer told me they basically think like this , a genuine tourist comes to thailand once, maybe 2 or 3 times a year going back and forth between their home country. If your not doing something like that they would investigate further

I guess that's why they make an METV available.

Granted does require exit reentry every 60/90 days but basically enables (almost) continuous  stay in Thailand of 9 months.

How to show insurance if the annual policy has not renewed yet?

You would need to chat with your insurance carrier to find out when new policy can be purchased.

Hopefully someone that has done this previously towards end of validity of the non O-A can post first hand experience.

Is health insurance checked when you enter just before the visa expires for another year? If not, it could just lapse after the first year required for the visa.

It should be checked and the validity stamp on entry would only be up till date of valid insurance.

I assume that means I've made some valid points and you finally see the light

You haven't made one valid point.

It's clear what the new TM30 requirements are and what they mean for expats living in Thailand.

In a nutshell living in place of residence no TM30 is required to be filed after travel to another province involving stays and also travel out of Thailand and upon return no TM30 required.

What does require a TM30 is if there is a change of address (usual place of residence) or when someone exits Thailand and reenters with new visa or visa exempt.

Krungsri , SCB and Bangkok Bank told me no bank account without a certificate of residence due "New Rules".

    That is correct.

In your OP you stated the following.....

"I can get one with a Certificate of Residence on the long-term rental villa that I have. Am I correct in saying that?"....

Hopefully lease will be sufficient for them to issue you a certificate of. May ask also for TM30.

That would not be successful in Bangkok where they also require 90 day report.

Fortunately think you are obtaining bank account in another province.

From my personal experience Kasikorn bank have been bit more flexible than Bangkok Bank.

And you never have to deal with Thai Immigration in Thailand.

When I was doing the "every two years get a new O-A visa" tactic, I didn't even do 90 day reports.  (Still required, I know, but unless you get arrested there's no consequence to skipping them, as I can attest.)

Prior to insurance requirements non O-A was ripper visa and as stated earlier if you visit home country every couple of years was an attractive option.

    Not so much now imo.

From that other thread you previously provided a link to this statement in the OP is simply incorrect:

"if a person on a multiple entry visa or has an extension of stay and enters using a re-entry permit a new TM30 report is not required."

It should state "may not be required" A new TM30 would be required if your lease has expired, the wife has kicked you out or whatever. The "the notified period of stay" has ended, you need to do a new TM30.

You conveniently left out the next statement following the bit you plucked out.....

    I also stated.....

"Of course anyone changing their address (place of residence) will need to do a TM30"...

    Done with this chit chat.

Why did you get a new visa every two years?

Could you have gotten the re-entry permit and just did an extension of the original visa when you got back to Thailand?

An extension would have required funds in Thai bank.

Obtaining new non O-A every two years does not.

Suits some. Especially those that travel back to home country every couple of years.

I didn't know or realize the re-entry stamp was required. Thanks for the update

Yep. Your not the only one.

The error has been made before.

You could consider obtaining a non O based on retirement from your visa exempt entry.

Guess that depends on how long you wanted to remain in Thailand.
