Excellent point and would be a great way to go if his embassy supports this letter. Great idea for the OP!
Agree it is a good point.
However when you read the OP he is very aware of options.
Seems switched on.
My guess is income method not an option.
The non O with extensions is a no brainer.
That would require the 800k in bank but no insurance.

Did you think of "explaining" that to the OP?
My first post stated reply to what to write on application.
Just in case you missed it....
"Genuine reason = tourist purposes"
That is what he ticks.
Stick to the OP.
Give advice or nothing.

Do you know what METV stands for?....
Multi Entry Tourist Visa.
The reason for wanting this visa is for tourism purposes.

I do not believe your "advice!" is accurate (yet again)! But I will not give an alternative answer as I do not offer advice on subjects like this, I prefer to leave it to experts like @ubonjoe.
BTW...I did not give the laugh emoji.
Clearly you know very little in the topics in this forum.
For a METV the reason for application can be as simple as tourism.

What supporting photocopies or other materials did BKK want besides the form?
And, were they charging any fee, or it was a freebie?
At CW they will in the main require a TM47 receipt.
Have basic photocopies pp just in case.
Without tm47 not possible.
The fee is 200 baht.
Sent via EMS 1-2 weeks.
Bit off topic as the OP asks about bike purchase.
If obtaining certificate of residence for car and bike do not ticket both boxes on form that was posted earlier.
Transport office will accept photocopy of certificate.
If you tick car and bike they charge 400b at CW

I will kick it off and let others with personal experience advise.
Check out this thread.
Thinking son needed to enter on a non O and not tourist visa.
Perhaps that's why immigration said No.

@kidneyw Thank you for the form. Exactly something like this I couldnt find.
As was pointed out ....that form is accepted at CW.
Just check at Jomtien that they also use that.
I have seen different forms at some offices.

First reply was from me. Here it is.
"You must have received a stamp.
Visa exempt currently would give you a stamp with 45 day permission of stay"
Here is my second post.....
"Make sure you look at every page to make sure it was io error.
Have never read of that happening.
Incorrect date sure. That happens.
No entry stamp. That would be a first."
As a result the OP checked his pp thoroughly and guess what..
Found the stamp.
My reply with stamp pic was reply to another poster.
What helpful info did you provide in the thread.

2. It must also be done if you leave Thailand and re- enter on a new visa or visa exempt as this breaks the continuity of your previous permission to stay.
Good post.
This is the bit some are missing.
Some expats maintain continuous continuity of extensions.
Provided they do not change their address (usual residence) No TM30 is required for returning to that residence from trips to other provinces or trips out of Thailand.
Obviously they would need a reentry permit to keep the extension valid.
Sadly some immigration offices are still waiting for the pigeon carrier to deliver the bulletin.

OP, you are applying for a 30 day extension.
Has your condo made a TM30.
If so obtain a screenshot of it.
Nonthaburi immigration may want a copy.

I'm in CM, and latest online report was rejected.
CM appears to be one of the immigration offices that do not follow the new (June 2020) TM30 requirements.

Try DIY Forum.
Yes it works.

Aha, consistently inconsistent!
Not to mention the catch 22 rule.
AKA in Thailand "flip flop rule".
One day "yes can do" next day "no can do"

Interesting, I thought the combi-method had gone, but apparently not.
Some offices accept it and some not so folk need to check with their immigration office

I'm arriving BKK soon and will probably opt to stay in BKK and get my Non-O in Changwattana, especially if they follow the Non-O requirements and rules
CW does follow the rules.
Jomtien has a crackpot io who does not.
You will need 800k in Thai bank account on day of application for non O retirement.
You will also need to show funds came from abroad.

Do you know how agents actually work, and what they charge. Rhetoric Q.
Yes so you used Darren Key Visa fine...
An annual extension at Maneerat Soi post office is 12,500baht.
More expensive elsewhere eg Bangkok.
You mentioned 25k.
That would be for obtaining a non O along with 12 month extension..
Perhaps also require opening bank account so perhaps 30k + for Big Mac.
Do you understand? Rhetorical question.

This thread has requirements listed in first post along with general advice.

In the hospital it’s the pink card, in the bank pink card or passport depending on the bank
Yippi.....everyone has a Pink ID card.
I don't and been here 10 years.
Many others I would suggest same.
You have another contribution.

Not the best to be honest
About 15 month stay with covid extension from 2021-2022, back to Canada for a few months, then entered last Christmas with a 60 day tourist visa in 2022
looking to do one border run to Malaysia, fly back in visa exempt for 45 days. Have a plane ticket booked already in May.
fairly young, mid 20’s, Asian, if that makes a difference, Canadian passport.
never had any issues with immigration, police, or overstay
Read some of your other threads.
Now that you outline age and history you seriously are rolling the dice.
Why try reenter visa exempt via air
Surely you have border bounce by land option since it's 2 per calendar year.
Even to bounce via air you would choose country with land option eg Laos vs Vietnam.
Mid 20,s age asian if I was immigration officer I would refuse you entry with your history.

Ihave a question you mentioned The agent deposits funds and withdraw.
Whos bank account is the agent depositing in?
I never used a agent and don’t intend to but just curious .
Applicants bank account.
If farang does not have a Thai bank account then that would be extra ~4k .

9 minutes ago, scottiejohn said:are you saying that if you are taken to your LOCAL hospital after a LOCAL accident and you are unconscious and obviously do not have your passport on you that you will not be treated?
Depends on the situation.
Private hospitals would have concerns.
Not necessarily on first admission but certainly for ongoing treatment.
Are you new to Thailand?
That was just one example I gave for need of pp.
In any event you are on ignore.

Thread means thread.
I stated the following.....
"My vote for most ridiculous thread in ages"...
You understand the difference I hope.

To avoid above multiple problems, borrowing 800k from a agent is a easy way out, of which a agent will want 25,000 baht for.
Do you understand how agents work to cover the money in bank option.
You do not "borrow money from agent"
The agent deposits funds and withdraw.
When someone has a non O the cost of the extension will be 12,500b in Pattaya and higher in other areas.
Not 25k

No stamp in passport
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Spot on.
In 10 years here with extensions and reentry permits only happened to me once.
To be fair as I was checking my pp after leaving the io called me back.
Was sorta a dead heat.
Being very frequent flyer I always draw attention to my reentry permit few pages back after that experience.
