  1. Assume you mean that your current permit expires in 52 days. Immigration requires 2 months of seasoning Your application would be rejected. Obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife. That provides required time. Edit: just noticed OP has used his 60 day extension. Border bounce does not help as you would then need to do a new non O marriage
  2. Thanks for report. Seems that you have an FD account. Immigration does not check them so carefully for monthly transactions. I actually use two dedicated accounts one FD and a savings a/c same bank. That part of my earlier post was off topic but pointing out for others that use CW need be aware of shift towards requirements of bank statements. It was not just down to the junior io as I disputed her notion and was sent to back of office to head lady. Back to the OP, yes letter can be days old. CW folk bit lucky with most banks located inside of imm office building. The bank letter along with small deposit that serves as bank update all done in minutes. Note: SCB does not have branch there and same of course for OP,s bank.
  3. That's very true however the financial requirements for extensions based on marriage set a very low bar. 400k for 2 months prior to application is insignificant. Pretty much up to the individual.
  4. They do not and also SCB do not. The OP has made easy into difficult however he can obtain letter days prior. More difficult to show activity on day of application. IO may not require that. Not sure what immigration CW will require for "passport -less" bank account. Hopefully someone will update that uses similar account. Off topic : for my extension (retirement) last Nov the io looked at every month. I use dedicated bank account. She was not happy that couple of months had zero transactions. The previous many years not an issue. Made me sign my paperwork that I would provide bank statements for next extension. Strange that was never an issue previously. Thai immigration offices are a joke.
  5. The OP did not obtain a reentry permit at time of his extension. It now requires trip to immigration and if that's a long process then it's a no brainer. Perhaps you haven't done a reentry permit at airports. It's a breeze. BKK even offers an option of "service fee" 200baht ... They do all..provide form, photocopies pp and pp. Personally done 9 at airports and 1 at CW. .... No brainer if you don't obtain the permit same time as extension visit.
  6. Bank letter can be up to seven days early at CW, however day prior is best practice. As for update.. Best to do on day of application. Some immigration officers at CW want to see transaction on day of application. It's not a problem that the balance will not match bank letter. You did not mention if extension based on retirement or marriage. It's seems CW is moving towards 12 month statement for extension based on retirement.
  7. All of which has nothing to do with queue at the reentry permit office where often zero . Regardless of how busy airport is the reentry permit often less than 20 minutes. DMK 10 mins. As someone posted earlier.. depends on your immigration office and if your relatively handy. In Bangkok best part of a day to obtain at CW.
  8. Most immigration offices should accept a TM30 along with explaining currently looking for condo to lease.. You stated this........ "I'm sure he will be able to get a covering letter from the hotel that he will be staying for three months, but will that be enough?" That is a bonus and should be sufficient along with a TM30 screenshot from the hotel.
  9. That's ancient. US citizens will receive 30 at land border entry visa exempt. Same via air. Both permits can be extended by 30 days at immigration office. 1900b . Note max 2 visa exempt entries via land per calendar year.
  10. Oh ...and that visa is 30 days. Yet some complain about the options Thailand provides.
  11. Nothing to do with Phuket office. I posted earlier that most if not all offices will insist on the FIRST extension from a non O-A must be based on retirement. Subsequent extensions can be based on marriage
  12. Agree 100%. Ridiculous thread. I recently took trip to Vietnam. Being Oz there is NO visa exempt entry for entry to Vietnam. Pre to covid you could obtain a 90 day multiple entry tourist visa. That is no longer available. Only tourist visa available is single entry tourist visa. What are the moaners on about re Thailand options.
  13. That is pretty much universal. You would have received same answer in most offices including CW.
  14. Have the family take her through "fast track" immigration desk. They will be fine
  15. Only required to be valid to cover period of stay for immigration at arrival in Thailand. However the airline may have their own rule re "valid for minimum 6 months.
  16. They don't need to show anything. Cash in any currency equivalent to 20k in total would be sensible as a family. The airline at departure from Germany may ask for proof of onward/return ticket. There are options to cover that. They don't need to show hotel reservations. Having address of a hotel a good idea. How long is the holiday in Thailand
  17. Yes. No problem. Note : the reentry permit will expire same date as your current permission of stay
  18. He can return straight away. That also applies to folk that decide to just exit via airport pay overstay fine and reenter. A short stay out of Thailand would be good idea. Regarding enter visa exempt any issue would be down to his history of semi continuous time spent in Thailand with visa exempt and tourist visas. I'm pretty sure that immigration will let him pay overstay and apply for 30 day extension
  19. Here is a thread with some comments regarding insurance for extensions from a non O-A based on retirement or marriage
  20. @Pib think it's ridiculous that your extensions were not grandfathered. Insurance is not possible for many older folk expats living in Thailand due to exclusions for pre existing conditions. The policy in some cases becomes a moot point.
