  1. You don't need to "close the non O-A" Some unmarried guys "kill off" the non O-A due to insurance requirement and then obtain a non O as you mentioned... The thing is being married you can change your reason for extension from retirement to based on marriage. Then insurance is not required for extension.
  2. Yes correct. Brain switch off mode here. In that case as per one of your suggestions if it were me then visa exempt entry pathway better option imo.
  3. You don't need that. Only insurance requirement is covid 10k cover for 30 days. Do you have an existing Thai bank account? Your option is to obtain a non O retirement from outside of Thailand or just enter visa exempt and obtain the non O retirement at immigration.
  4. Name one along with cost. I'm referring to residence certificate obtained same day. Otherwise all just hyperbole.
  5. Which airline and route? Many reports from folk stating exactly same experience as you related. Problem is also Many experiences of onward flight being required. I don't like travel that relies on "luck of the draw". We often read suggestion of throw away ticket and "rent a ticket" from the onward flight sites in case flight is required. Another option is to roll the dice and be prepared to step away from check in (if refused) and buy an on the spot throw away ticket. Obviously you would require internet access.
  6. Just for any Oz folk or also others that need a visa for Vietnam eg USA.... I tried an application for eVisa. Just a dry run. Very simple. However it does not cater for 3 month multi entry. My travel habits to Saigon are max stay maybe 4 nights then back to BKK, so really it's currently not worth it. FWIW: The current return flight to Saigon is ~3400baht return.
  7. Early next year I will need to renew my TDL. I will trot off to CW to obtain the required residence certificate. 200baht. Not a problem. Can you please stick to topic. The OP asked how to obtain residence certificate and do first 90 day report. I answered that in my first post. Placed on ignore.
  8. You won't need visa run to Vietnam....however note there is current thread in "visas to other countries" bit of advice that you might want to visit Vietnam. BTW...I assume that you have obtained the standard 30 day extension already. Note that 30 day extension and covid extension will be done at IT mall Laski.
  9. On your page now. Yes just exit without reentry permit and reenter visa exempt. Pretty much straight away obtain your non O retirement then in last 30 days of the 90 day permit from the non O obtain 12 month extension. No insurance..
  10. There is pathway from visa exempt to non O retirement and subsequent extension. Easy for you given you have Thai bank account in place. The border bounce is not as it was pre covid. You still need TP to reenter Thailand and the 10k covid insurance cover 30 days. BTW how did you last enter Thailand? Was it by a tourist visa or visa exempt or.....?
  11. Don't overthink it. Whatever is your most recent TM30 from a hotel then obtain the screenshot from the hotel. This will cover you for application for covid extension
  12. I'm bit fish outta water on this. Being Oz require visa. For years have been obtaining 3 month multi entry visa to Vietnam. Obtain "letter" from visa companies in Vietnam and obtain visa on arrival with letter and form etc. First up seems multi 3 month not available. Also only eVisa application is in place and not approval letter..
  13. When applying for eg tourist visa at a Thai consulate if a visa application is rejected it's not uncommon to receive pp back with full page visa sticker and in red VOID stamped on the visa. This was common before covid at places such as Phnom Penh. Seems it was for second repeat tourist visa applications at same consulate.
  14. You can buy a 30 day extension to a visa exempt entry. You can also do a border run (messy) to obtain another visa exempt entry. You ask about issue with airline. Implies you have not yet arrived in Thailand. The airline may/will want to see onward flight within 30 days You can purchase cheapest throw away ticket or Google "onward flight," for companies that rent you a ticket.
  15. Ask reception for screenshot of the TM30 they sent. That will be sufficient for your covid extension.
  16. The OP requires 90 day visit. His best option is outlined above by @Tod Daniels If SETV was not available or he wanted to avoid obtaining one then visa exempt + extension+ border run is an option, however very messy at this time.
  17. First time 90 day reports have always been able to do via mail. Suggest you do it in person if not too far from immigration then ongoing use online
  18. One man's trash is another's treasure. I wouldn't want to spend a day there.
  19. Great little Thai consulate in Saigon. Please report back entry requirements. Perhaps you qualify for visa exempt entry. Being Oz, I need visa and wanting to go to Saigon but the requirements for entry not clear.
  20. Good point. He should have posted if returning. As I posted above he can travel and have agent obtain stamp. Bit strange not to book flight after obtaining stamp. Esp for domestic flight.
  21. You can fly domestically with photo id. You could leave your pp with someone (agent, wife etc) to have them return for stamp.
  22. What type of visa and which country. Recent reports of non O and tourist visa from places such as Phnom Penh and Savannakhet..
  23. Flight to where? If exit Thailand then the under consideration stamp is irrelevant.
