  1. To understand what type of entry people choose is bit cloudy with covid. Prior to Covid, is was more simple a choice. First up it was 30 day (visa exempt) vs 60 days (tourist visa). Both can be extended by 30 days. For those that didn't want to exit Thailand after arrival and have 3 month stay then the setv was good option. For those staying longer they could enter visa exempt and have an extension and do what's referred to as "border run". Stepped over border and re-entered straight away with a new 30 day visa exempt entry. That could also be extended by 30 days. You are allowed to do two border entries per year. You could also take cheap weekend to places such as Vietnam and re-enter visa exempt. These were in theory unlimited. Just giving outline of what was available pre covid. Currently visa exempt entry is 45 days and with covid extensions some folk are opting for visa exempt over tourist visa (only 15 day difference) Either is good option
  2. Indeed. Vaccinating 915,000 in a single day. Remarkable effort. Wouldn't believe it unless I had not read it with my own two eyes.
  3. If you end up spending lot of time in Asia in future, be aware that USA passport holders can obtain a 12 month multi entry tourist visa for Vietnam. Think they the only country that has that available option. Strangely same as Au and some other countries, what's not available is visa exempt entry. Apparently Japan is #1 passport in the world.
  4. You can obtain a 30 day extension on both a visa exempt entry or tourist visa entry. Enter on visa exempt gives you 45day permission of stay. A tourist visa 60days. Either way after you extend by 30days you can subsequently obtain 60day covid extensions. They almost certainly will be continued. Personally I would enter visa exempt. That's up to you. BTW the reason for obtaining the 'standard' 30 day extension before covid extensions is that immigration will make you do it that way (most likely). Forget the notion that 30day extension is more easy with tourist visa vs visa exempt entry. You will get a 30 day extension with either. 100%. Finally I suggest you obtain full vaccination prior to travel to Thailand.
  5. Good attempt to bring bring the topic back to OP. I also would like to know the machinations of achieving ~916,000 does on Friday. An update of vaccine supply would also be nice. The 150k doses from Bhutan wouldn't go far.
  6. This thread is in part about vaccination cards required for dine in. The gf just now informs me that on Thai breaking news this requirement has been knocked on head Any confirmation?
  7. If you entered Thailand on visa exempt then you attend MTT. If you entered on tourist visa you attend CW. Ask your hotel for copy of receipt for MT30. May or may not be asked for.
  8. OP, where are you attending to apply for covid extension.
  9. This article is a out ~916k vaccinations given in one day. Initially think about 460k given and due to supply issues that number struggled over following weeks. Recently were delivering 550k up. Think Thursday 650k? Remarkable. Then on Friday Bingo ~915k. Isn't that a surprise. If indeed true wouldn't it be interesting to know how such a remarkable effort was achieved? It's not being negative to look for explanation.
  10. He doesn't need new passport. He is after a 30 day extension to visa exempt entry. He is entitled to one 30 day extension per visa exempt or tourist visa entry
  11. First up agree with your post. There have been couple of reports where statements were required using money in bank method. One was at CW and I knew that was not normally the case. Turns out the guy was doing many online banking transactions per day. As a result when updated his bankbook his transactions were consolidated and io demanded statements. Point of this past is to suggest that folk have a designated bank a/c for immigration and separate a/c for day to day use.
  12. If you entered visa exempt, not only is a 30day extension available but in fact immigration most likely make you obtain that prior to obtaining 60day 'covid extension'
  13. The gf just booked eyelash for Sept 1 at her usual joint. That salon is in a Fortune town. The gf not vaccinated. BTW, IMO the vax certificate will not be required for dine in.
  14. So as few others suggest....this vaccinated requirement for customers will not be enforced. How does this change things for all the street food vendors. Many have seating most open air. The couple that my gf has spoken to think that customers can sit and eat as from Sept 1. When I mention vaccination the gf just states the usual....."why farang so stupid"
  15. What happened to the vaccination sites that had very over crowded pictures. Think one gov official suggested it was bad camera angle. I was at Bang Sue on July 27 and it was seriously overcrowded Mad house. Note that the staff did amazing job. So jabs back then were perhaps 500k or less? Where are they doing the extra 400k+. What happened to the many front line vac sites saying that they had inadequate supplies.
  16. Perhaps I'm missing something...... Sounds to me that your on overstay. Check the most recent stamp in your passport. It should have an "admit untill" date. This is your permission of stay date.
  17. What's more is that previous "good days" were ~ 550k. Then what?...... get serious and crank it up to ~916k Absolute nonsense.
  18. Greg Williams received 9 weeks and he wasn't even looking at the ump. A fine for Green would be a joke. Time will tell.
  19. Seems that you did not use commercial aircraft in the days when the seats to rear of aircraft were for smoking.
  20. Some banks don't have a clue what's required re bank letter. Both banks that I'm familiar with charge 100baht.
  21. I'm tipping One Million vaccinations/day coming soon. Why not!
  22. From above post of data..... DAY 82: 915,738 <— New High Yeah 915,738........that's funny.
