Redmi Note 10 Pro and Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC.
DrJack54 replied to up2you2's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Indeed. When I open new phone it does not go to what I expect from new cell. With this one instead of asking for "setup"..... It straight away asks if I want to transfer data from existing phone. Anyway seems malls will open next week so will try cafe idea and failing that go to phone service store. Thanks for your advice. Appreciated. -
Redmi Note 10 Pro and Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC.
DrJack54 replied to up2you2's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Hoping for some some advice from IT folk. So have new phone and wish to transfer the data from old. I have looked at all the internet videos. Seems simple using apps such as 'smart switch' etc. So my issue. The advice is to have both phones connected to same WiFi. My condo that I pay for WiFi only allows ONE device at a time. In normal times I would go to nice cafe etc and use their internet. For that matter just take it to phone repair/service joint and have them transfer. Any suggestions appreciated. @OneMoreFarang thanks for previous help. Any advice? -
I was under the impression that onward ticket is NOT required for tourist visa. You do need to show inbound flight flight. For visa exempt entry an onward flight is required. This is required for airline carrier for boarding flight. You can either book cheapest flight available (easy pre covid many cheap flights Vietnam etc) OR you can purchase a "rent a flight ticket" very cheaply. Internet shows companies providing this surface.

Yes CW. Not being picky but just note that your obtaining a "covid extension". Its not a visa (even though immigration might use the term visa). BTW, I disregarded your reference to 90 day report. I don't think that it would be required, however since you previously had a non B you best ask imm officer when there. Cheers.

As you outlined you can obtain tourist visa 60 day+ extension 30 days. You could then obtain covid extension 60 days. That's if covid extensions are still issued at that time, which is most likely. Each extension costs 1900baht. You could skip the tourist visa and enter visa exempt (if your country qualifies). That is 45days, which is fine if covid extensions available. Visa exempt is also able to be extended by 30 days same as tourist visa. Edit: op, I just noticed your only after a 70 day stay. The visa exempt 45+ extension 30 days is enough. Covid 60 day as back up if plans change.

National Committee Will Propose Reopening Thailand before Year’s End

Where can I go and catch some music of an evening in Phuket? Obviously that would mean serving alcohol. I'm not talking about nightclub. Rather the restaurant/bar music joint. -
60 Day extension due to second covid injection
DrJack54 replied to kidneyw's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That's almost a year. Can't imagine why you didn't obtain a 12 month extension based on marriage -
You can enter visa exempt (45 days) Being married to Thai you can apply for 60 day extension to visit Thai wife. You can obtain 60 day covid extension. Many options. You would be required to quarantine for 15 days. You will need to obtain certificate of entry etc. Crazy to come for such a short period.

Clearly your aware of your options including using agents. Plenty listed in Bangkok so you can check others or attend CW yourself. Please report back with your experience obtaining the covid extension. -
Extension visa exemption

Formality ....no limit on number of covid extensions. Eventually they will stop but would imagine not for some time. -

Applying for extension in Bangkok you will need to have tm30 to show change of address. ubonjoe will be along to give definitive advice. I now understand 10k baht from Grace. Your op didn't outline the actual situation. 10k is fine IMO. -

Going back to your OP, I understand now how you were able to work as you indicate now that you are on extension based on marriage. Not sure how working on a covid extension would pan out. Also the immigration officer may wonder why your not obtaining another extension based on marriage and opting for covid extensions. -
Extension visa exemption
DrJack54 replied to Strangerlee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What exactly did you provide to obtain covid extension? Which pages of passport copied. Was tm30 required. Assume that you signed tick box affidavit? -
Enter Thailand visa exempt 45 day permission of stay. Obtain various extensions after you arrive. There is standard 30 day extension and after that you can obtain covid 60 day extensions. You have option of Phuket sandbox if your fully vaccinated. You will need COE. Plenty of threads about that. Can't imagine why anyone would come to Thailand in current situation.

Non-Imm O-A from USA wanting to return
DrJack54 replied to TimLMT's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, your questions have been covered. Make sure that you check out pros/cons of a Non O-A compared with Non O (retirement) and obtaining your 12 month extension in Thailand. Your comment re that you think that you have previously had covid and hence planning travel without being vaccinated is IMO naive. You could also read threads where some folk have tested positive after arrival. What follows is not pleasant. -

OP, very surprised with price that you mentioned from ThaiVisaCentre. I was under impression it was ~ 5500b which includes the extension fee and pick up drop off service in Bangkok. Think you can easily check again and/or alternative agent in Bangkok area. Make sure that you check with agent if they can include the 'under consideration period' otherwise you will be in same spot a month later. Note: job with covid extension. I wouldn't put that out there. -
The sandbox also has 14 days however the restrictions are very different. Many threads about that where you can obtain clarification. Also the sandbox is about to change rules. Previously you had to remain in Phuket for 14 days. Soon you will be able to stay 7 and travel to some other included destinations. One example is Koh Samui. Looks like pita to me. Of course you need to be fully vaccinated prior to travel to Thailand. That would be sensible in any event.
