Monthly pay for a general manager with a large retail group in Thailand can easily be 150,000+ per month. For a similar position with a foreign company based here, 300,000 is not unusual, again per month. They may not be typical salaries but the OP asked for facts so what else can we do but relate the facts we know personally? I've no idea what brain surgeons earn here but CEOs of large companies in Thailand are pulling in an awful lot more than that. Take the CEO of Central Group as an example. The Chirathivat family is worth more than $10 billion - do you really think he's only earning $4,000-$8,000 per month lol?

Neither do I. The fact you only need 400k in the bank for an extension based on marriage versus 800k for a visa based on retirement would seem to suggest the opposite: that they expect you'll be sharing expenses with your wife. There's absolutely no requirement to prove you are supporting your wife in any way or form when applying for this type of extension.

What really annoys me is at the same time as they're ignoring vendors who rip off customers by selling counterfeit goods on their platform, their PR department is sending out articles with titles like: "Lazada takes a firm stand against counterfeit goods, alongside global brand partners".

Amazon must love people like you. Just a thousand customers who think like that and they've made $20,000 by cheating on the import duty fees.

It's nothing to do with Thai customs, it's Amazon that charges the fees. When I pointed out to them they were adding import duty fees to items that were under the duty threshold here, they said, "Don't, worry, you will get your money back within 180 days", as if that made everything okay. And yes, if you don't check what the applicable rate of duty is before you order goods to be sent here then yes, it is your fault for being lazy. Nothing to do with whether the duty is 'fair' or 'justified', it's to do with accepting responsibility for what you're doing, like any adult with a functioning brain.

You're the one that brought tax into the argument, now you don't like the answers you've decided it's none of our business? You should go into politics.

Every single time I buy something in a shop, I'm paying tax here. This is a weak and oft repeated excuse for the way foreigners are treated in Thailand. A Thai would not be treated like this by doctors in the UK, that is why I don't think we should be treated like it here. If Thailand doesn't wish to treat Westerners with respect, perhaps they should stop accepting hundreds of millions of dollars in aid from the West?

The worst thing about Lazada is they won't publish reviews that mention counterfeit goods on their website, which is a massive red flag as far as I'm concerned.

What's difficult about the payment procedure? I just choose debit/credit card and check out. It's as easy as any other site I've used.

My problem was something to do with the registration details as well. But after seeing how their 'help' system was set up, I decided not to bother. It would drive me mad if I had payment issues and was faced with that brick wall of a system again.

Just a note of caution: there are fake safety razor blades around. Also, Feather blades are about the sharpest you can buy, which is fine, but they also lose their edge considerably faster than some other brands. I'm not sure that safety razor designs have changed much either. You can get a very easy shave with something like a Gillette Tech from the 1950s - it's the blade exposure and angle of the design that determines how easy or difficult it is to use a safety razor without cutting yourself. Vintage Gillette Techs, Slims, Superspeeds and Fatboys are all fairly easy to use as long as you remember they don't pivot by themselves. I know some people don't like the idea of using a secondhand razor but there's no reason not to. It's not like you're using a secondhand blade and they were built to last back in the day - nickel-plated brass as opposed to the zamak or 'pot metal' they use to make cheap safety razors today. What, $50 to send a package by FedEx from the USA to Thailand is a rip-off? I'd be surprised if it was less. I think I paid around that amount to send a straight razor to California a few years ago and it costs more than that to send a small package by USPS Priority Mail International these days.

Payoneer is a complete nightmare. When I had an issue with them, I found it was simply impossible to get through to a real person. The way their help system is set up, they force you to choose ever more specific sub categories of help until you have to choose one that they already have an answer for. If your specific issue is not listed, you cannot submit the help form without choosing one that is. Then they give you their stock answer to that issue and mark the case as closed. Now way I would ever deal with an organisation like that.
