  6. It's actually 11 May 2024 when senators will be powerless to vote for a PM. Caretaker Deputy PM Wissanu Krea-ngam clarified that the current Senate will continue to hold power as a caretaking senate after its terms end in May 2024. However, their authority to vote for a prime minister will cease on May 11, 2024, as stated in the charter. https://twitter.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1683789135054782464
  7. And so it continues: Democrat’s Tankhun Jitt-itsara filed a petition to ask House Speaker Wan Noor to investigate Pita for allowing a 10-year-old to make speeches and answer political questions on MFP’s campaign stage. He also asked the speaker to investigate Sirin Sanguansi, MFP Bangkok MP, who admitted to assaulting a woman before charges were dropped. He said the party is exploiting the 10-year-old for political benefits, while Sirin has damaged the reputation of parliamentarians. https://twitter.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1683718746383466497

It's that clown again: Palang Pracharath Party member Ruangkrai Leekitwattana has asked the Constitutional Court to review the Office of the Ombudsman's decision to forward a petition from the Move Forward Party to the court. The petition seeks the court's ruling on the rejection of Pita's renomination by 394 parliamentarians. Ruangkrai questions whether the Office of the Ombudsman is defying the power of the legislative branch or not. He asks the court to rule whether the office has a duty and jurisdiction to forward the case to the court or not. https://twitter.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1683684345914195969

  11. Thai Enquirer @ThaiEnquirer Pheu Thai leader Chonlanan Srikaew clarified that they are not pushing the Move Forward Party out of the 8-party coalition. They are simply checking the stances of parties outside the coalition without asking them to join. The press conferences with external parties are part of their transparent negotiation process. They will discuss the answers received with their coalition partners before deciding the next steps. This approach is part of the 8-party coalition's three-option strategy to form the government, including gaining votes from senators and external parties to reach the required 375 votes. https://twitter.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1683032811387916288

  14. Looking into this further, you are correct, the conditions are non-binding. Although having said that, this is Thailand.
