  1. It's a properly sorted EV Sports Car to rival the new Porsche Boxter EV, massive horsepower and a 3.2 second dash to 100kmhr. Formula 1 Engineer set up the suspension too. The reviews are all stunning. The only downside is the battery chemistry, being NMC it's not as suited to Thailand's heat as LFP and will last half as long, but still the life of the car. The PEA Grid is able to cope adequately. EV's catch fire 10x less often than ICE cars. They keep their value extremely well. I think that is most of the usual nonsense dealt with in advance.

  8. The 4.5 hour rule? You cannot drive for longer than 4.5 hours without taking a break of at least 45 minutes. Taking this break causes a fresh 4.5 hour period of drive to begin. Not particularly unusual. Probably want a pee too, 20-25 minutes is probably average.

Weigh more than ICE cars hence less efficient (BEV cars do weigh more, but they are far more efficient, not least because the extra energy used in bringing the heavier car up to speed is recuperated when slowing down. Poor resale value (not true in Thailand, one of our esteemed members has just sold his MG EV on the same day he posted it and got more for it than he expected. I sold an EV after 2 years and lost only 10% depreciation). Other systems, lets first discount fusion, it's nuclear and will always be a very large fixed plant and the electricity it produces will always be expensive product and not applicable to cars. Hydrogen & fuel cells (both suffer from the same problem, hydrogen has to be produced from electrolysis, it's only 30% efficient, add in storage, transportation, selling costs of forecourts etc and a BEV will always be 3 times cheaper per km. That's not to say we may see them sold alongside BEV's as a cheaper to buy option because much more expensive to run). There is not a single accurate point in that post, other than saying they are heavier.

  11. We have bought 3 of Xiaomi vacuum cleaners, we broke one by pulling on the cord in places too far from the socket, the other 2 are going strong. Xiaomi Deerma DX700 & DX810 Both under 1,000 baht and our maids love them, 30,000 PA and bagless, bought on lazada.

  13. You don't need active balancers, but without them you need to charge to 100% periodically for the passive balancers in the BMS to balance the cells. With an active balancer, the cells are constantly being balanced without any wastage, passive balancers waste energy. Active Balancer is also useful if anything goes wrong with the balancing section of your BMS. Putting it in EV terms, cars without Active Balancers (eg MG) balance at the end of the charge cycle, other manufacturers don't need you to do this process.
  14. I fitted Active Balancers on my 2 battery packs so I can avoid charging to 100%, they are always balancing. I charge to 85% and can only discharge to about the same level as you.
  15. I have long thought the definition of "taste" in Thailand is different from the West. In the West we look at every modification from an asesthetic point of view, we consider the form, the function and whether it adds or subtracts from the whole with a critical eye. In Thailand the entire philosophy is different, it can be summed up as if "if someone makes it" then "it must be good". I think the concept of "less is more" doesn't exist here.

  19. Little roadster looks cute. Very impressed with the Neta V, and test drove the Seal Performance today, it's mental. I'm not sure Thailand is ready for this level of performance.... Salesmen told me today he has sold 6 cars this month, 3 x Seal Performance, 2 x Seal Premium, 1 x Atto 3.
