  1. How do you turn off the voice prompt “you are exceeding the speed limit“ My Seal started doing it after the latest update and SIM card change
  2. Somebody waxes lyrical about MG’s? Never!!! I have no idea who you could be talking about, @KhunLA can you shed any light on who this could be that Richard is talking about?
  3. Have you ever driven an MG EV Richard? They drive exceptionally well. We’ve had the MG EP+ and the MG4, both fine cars.
  4. Trump and his “First Buddy” will soon remove all the climate control stuff in the former colonies. I don’t believe there is any way on this earth we will avoid climate catastrophe. In theory, it’s possible, it just won’t happen. By the time the idiots wise up it will be too late. We should have already ramped up CC&S by now, not only is it not really happening there aren’t as yet plans to ramp it up. We will hit that tipping point before they forecast it. On the issue of critical credibility, I had 2 German cars, one a PHEV and the other an EV. The Chinese cars feel lighter as if the steel is thinner, the Chinese cars seem to be more reliable too, and a lot better value for money. There is nothing wrong with MG’s EV’s, I am not as confident about their ICE cars and they did get off to a bad start. I think you’re wrong with your comment “Yeah... But its an MG... ”.
  5. We have an MG4, I drove it myself for 6 months before I got my Seal. The MG4 is an excellent car, it's better than my Seal in a few ways (far better handling and driver feedback).
  6. I have thought for a few years now that it's impossible to stop this continually rising world temperature. We just need to accept it. Everything we do is far too little and far too late. Growing economies like China and India will never do anything.
  7. You just don't get it do you. The share of new EV's in the market continues to grow. The share of new ICE in the market continues to decline. The number of EV models available continues to increase The number of ICE models available continues to decrease EV Factories and manufacturers continue to invest in Thailand ICE factories continue to close in Thailand QED The number of people choosing EV over ICE is increasing. To use your analogy, the number of deaths last year was more than 1923 therefore the population is going to die out. It's all about relativism. Try using relativism and we will relate to what you are saying. Whether you like it or not, EV's are here to stay and their growth is exploding.
  8. I asked my friend Vernon how tall he is and how comfortable he is in the MG4 this is what I got in reply...
  9. He wasn't always like this, there was a time when he was anti-EV but relatively sensible and often quite humorous.
  10. A Prediction. Trump: Give me half your minerals and I'll spend billions protecting you Zelensky: OK Trump: I have this deal, I want the same from you and you can take Ukraine Putin: You have a deal and the sweetener is here's a billion for your own personal account in the Bahamas
  11. when I read t... I thought of a three-letter word that rhymes with sit. I think both our assumptions of the exact word have some validity
  12. I would get him to check out the BYD Dolphin and the MG4. I don't know about the Dolphin but my friend Vernon has the MG4 and he's at least 6'4".
  13. Welcome back @ExpatOilWorker The important statistic to know what's going on in the EV marketplace is % market share, you're not an idiot, you do know this. Even without comparing this, you only have to open your eyes and see what's on the road. The whole car industry is on its knees with Nissan probably going bust, Honda closing factories and Toyota leading a disinformation campaign. Try looking at market share. It's to early to look at pickup sales, we need to see what happens when BYD launch the Shark. BYD has turned into another Toyota in Thailand and the Thai's love them.
  14. I see 4 issues with pedestrian crossings. First, they are often placed within 5 metres of a 4-way junction, often times there is a building on the corner, hiding the crossing from View. Secondly, they are so dirty. They are often impossible to see, only people with local knowledge know they are there. Thirdly, pedestrians seem to think they are supposed to wait for the traffic to stop before stepping out, this is incorrect, you should step onto the crossing and appear to be assertive, not timid. Finally, the vehicles seem to think they have priority and won’t stop for timid looking pedestrians. I step straight out onto them, assertively and make it clear that they will have to stop or hit me. I’m always ready to jump out of the way but it’s rarely necessary..
  15. I can't remember whether it was GBox or Aurora Store, I had to install "Downloader by AFTVnews" first then enter the code to get Smart Tube (28544). It's the same process I followed on a couple of Android TV's.
  16. I successfully loaded Smart Tube yesterday, now I can watch youtube in the car without adverts. I also loaded Waze and ABRP together with updating Google Maps, I will test them this week.
  17. I very much doubt it is a wind up, this is exactly what I would expect if I sold over GBP 10,000 crypto on (say) CEX.IO and transferred the funds to my UK bank account without pre-warning the bank and getting their nod in advance. In my case I would point them to the transactions I made 18 years ago transferring significant funds from their bank to Thailand and suggest that it's not unreasonable for me to have bought crypto and want to bring it back. I'm not sure how they would react to bypassing Thailand's exchange controls, hopefully that wouldn't interest them.
  18. ITAC is a technology for AWD affecting the torque at each wheel including negative torque if needed to correct skids and even predict them before it happens.
  19. And an insurance company regulated by Nevis would have no problem in telling you who the underwriter is in your policy document. The important part of my post you removed, let me add it here ” One of the bad reviews on Trustpilot points out that 6 of the 5* reviews are made by officers or associates of the company. The contract been insured and insurer is based on integrity. Clearly, when the CEO and officers of the company have none on Trustpilot, that is a big red flag for me. “ Additionally, many of the 5* reviews appear to have been written by a review agency, there are word-for-word duplicate posts from different customers and some even talk about the wrong type of product.
  20. It’s currently about 12,600 baht per night which is completely ridiculous. You can fly return to the Dusit Princess 5* resort on Phu Quoc and stay one night for the same cost. Nearly 90,000 baht for a week at the KataThani, yet it’s fully booked.
  21. This is my favourite wine at about 750 baht a bottle from VinesToVino in Pattaya.
  22. The Thai tax code specifically defines crypto and if you bought it on an authorized Thai exchange, you add the profit to your taxable income.
  23. My understanding is you would add the 50k to your taxable income.
  24. I saw that one too. Australia is very different to Thailand, here electricity is cheap, even on the fast charging network which is huge in Thailand. I’ve never seen a broken charger and I would have no hesitation in driving from one end of Thailand to the other and I wouldn’t even bother to plan my stops. Charging stations are rarely further apart than 20Km here.
  25. You add it to your taxable income.
