  1. I don't have any direct experience of defamation, I do know you have a choice of police or court for your complaint. I don't think a lawyer is going to recommend you go to the police and advise himself out of a job.
  2. My eldest daughter says their frozen Spaghetti Carbonara is better than every restaurant we go to (we eat out a lot). I disagree with her btw.
  3. As I said, I watched that performance when it happened. I am not misremembering it, I don't think anyone translated it incorrectly. My memory is spot on. I do watch Mearsheimer occasionally, but he's not credible.
  4. The usual "fluff" post
  5. I don't speak Russian so you will have to have it in English. Incidentally, I watched and remembered this. Putin’s made-for-TV security debate gives him answers he wants to hear on Ukraine (ft.com)
  6. I know it is true for defamation, I'm not sure about other matters. Claiming compensation is expensive and as you found out, your costs were higher. Here is some text and a link If someone is trying to destroy your reputation by making the false statement. You can protect yourself by claiming the defamation case against them. You can file the criminal lawsuit at the court. However, you need to be careful about the statute of limitation. Because the defamation is a compoundable offense (both general and public defamation) which is subject to three months statute of limitation. This means, you have three months from the date that you know the incident and the accused, to file the lawsuit at the court or file the police report at the police station. Although the defamation is the criminal offense. But if you want to claim the compensation, you also need to file the civil case along with the criminal one. The reason is the court cannot grant the monetary damages to you in the criminal case. H&P Herrera and Partners - Relevant aspects of a Defamation Case in Thailand (herrera-partners.com)
  7. Isn't that showing May EV percentage of 12.1% up on April's 10.8%? I wouldn't call that falling. It seems the Dino Juice brigade struggle with percentages.
  8. If I recall correctly, the EV percentage was higher in May than April
  9. Great to see that EV percentage increasing.
  10. It's not just American technology. I would say Germany is a generation ahead of America and China more ahead still, according to the report commissioned by UBS (I think it was) already discussed here.
  11. I think the Americans aim is to denude the armed capability of Russia. If that is the case, they want it to grind on. We never get a clear story from Putin about why he did, it's been to stop NATO expansion, it's been to stop the alleged slaughter of Russian's in Donbas, it's been to de Nazify Ukraine, it's been to remove their armed capability. I remember Putin saying early on in a public interview, Shoigu said we want Ukraine as Russian territory to which Putin replied "We're not talking about that Sergei". I think part of the reason was Zelensky, he stuck a very visible 2 fingers up to Putin and one thing we do know is Putin bears grudges and wants Ukraine aligned with Russia, not Europe/the West. I think his initial aim was to install a Russian friendly government, when he couldn't do that he wanted a land grab. Above all we have to remember NATO is a defensive pact. Non-aggressors have nothing to fear from NATO.
  12. Already discussed - Twice. Situation is completely different in Thailand, we have a superb charging network and cheap but high quality Chinese EV's.
  13. Defamation is a criminal matter, why did you go the expensive route? It can be reported either to the police, or the court and they will pick up the process from then on.
  14. Probably laptop batteries
  15. Aside from EVs, I'm struggling to think of a car that's cheaper in the UK than Thailand, do you have some examples?
  16. It makes a nice change. For years, cars have been more expensive in Thailand than the UK.
  17. Yes, I read that, interesting the 53% top concern was EV price premium, some of those are likely to "want" an EV but won't pay a premium. Hopefully Chinese EV's can change that. Australia is a really big country, I'm not convinced EV's are right for those driving thousands of miles between cities, which is probably a small percentage of drivers anyway.
  18. That's not a source, or perhaps it's what passes for a source by the Anti EV brigade. Being least likely to buy an EV is not the same as "92% of Australians don't want an EV?" I am least likely to buy a Rolls Royce Spectre, it doesn't mean I don't want one. Come on guys, we've been through this, English is a precise language, let's not ASS U me.
  19. I've stayed there a few times, it's my favourite hotel to break my journey on the rare occasions I'm driving South. If you're heading North from there, always take the 101 though the national park. I did the journey from Baan George to Chiang Rai on a Kawasaki Versys about 12 years ago. I was messing about with the Garmin GPS in my hotel room and unwittingly told it to avoid highways. The route through all the little villages was stunning until North of Chiang Rai and took me to a rice paddy.
  20. I have had the car limit power 3 times in the last week, all when I had been pushing it hard. Power was limited to 233Kw, after a bit of steady driving full power was returned, no warnings, just limited power. I'm guessing battery temperature.
  21. With the way batteries are developing, I’m sure we’re heading in the right direction. I think it’s a shame some companies didn’t embrace change.
  22. My ex-wife had a horse, it was cheap compared to her.
  23. Why stop there, you could go steam powered or add a horse in a harness.
