  1. I am not disputing any number of cars sold by BYD. I am disputing you removing January sales registrations from the governments published figures because "you know better". It's wrong. Autolife is a journalistic magazine, journalists are not unknown to invent things or massage facts to suit their article. You can't assume that no cars sold in January were registered in January. Nobody knows the number of cars sold by month, they can guesstimate, all we actually know is the number of cars registered in a month.
  2. Much of what you said is waffle and irrelevant to the numbers published for a year. It's not down to me to prove the figures published are accurate, it's down to you to disprove the figures published if you want to use your own. My neighbour took to delivery of a pickup in January this year and got his white plate a week later. It's entirely likely that a good proportion of January figures are January deliveries, prove they are not.
  3. You can't stop teenagers from dating, you can try but you'll more than likely lose the teenager. However, staying over at 16 when he no doubt is still in school is another matter. You have to gradually release the reins before university, so it's impossible to give an exact answer without knowing the child, and he is a child.
  4. Any trans male to female has a marked sporting advantage over CIS women sportspersons. I'm glad to see World Aquatics seeing sense.
  5. This begs the question, is the purpose of these tariffs to punish China for subsidising EV's or is it to level the playing field on price. The first is justifiable, the second is naked protectionism. The euronews article says "Duties in the 40-50% range – arguably even higher for vertically integrated manufacturers like BYD – would probably be necessary to make the European market unattractive for Chinese EV exporters," the Rhodium Group said in an April report. Punishing BYD because they had the foresight to be vertically integrated in manufacture is naked protectionism and unjustifiable. I'm pleased to see it didn't happen. I hope the Chinese manufacturers respond by removing the EU premium on their prices. I don't agree with you fudging the figures for a year by removing January numbers from the year. A massive proportion of January registrations were actually delivered to the customer in January. As soon as you start fudging figures because "you want to", we're on a slippery slope. The figures published for the year can't be tampered with because you believe they are orders from the previous year, if you are going to do that you MUST prove there are no January deliveries included in there, if you can't do that, you must accept the figures.
  6. You're right, it happens much more often to ICE cars. It's included in statistics posted here and repeated ad nauseum. No crash fire is relevant to any EV owner here, it certainly isn't to me.
  7. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
  8. For individuals, the tax is not on profit but it's Personal Income Tax on the entire sales amount of BTC you sell on an authorised Thai exchange (unless you bought them on an authorised Thai exchange, which you didn't). There is no relief for the costs you have incurred in getting there, eg electricity.
  9. Please do, don't come back.
  10. I really don't see any relevance of an EV catching fire in an accident, it happens equally to ICE cars. What is relevant is an EV catching fire spontaneously or whilst charging.
  11. The uber wealthy use a technique called borrow/die. They borrow money against their shares and the loan is repaid on death. No tax is paid.
  12. I volunteered to stay UK Tax Resident, before all this mullarkey with Thai taxation cropped up. At the time I told them I was still tax resident because I needed to research what the implications of electing to be non Tax Resident would be, that would be a change rather than continuing my status and I wondered what my banks motive was in asking me. My view now is that nothing has changed, we are not the ones the Thai tax authorities are after and the only change I will be undertaking is making gifts from the UK to my daughters to fund their university education rather than bringing it here first. And I will not be selling any crypto on a Thai exchange as that is now very closely monitored.
  13. Alas no, but I can probably get it on waybackmachine.
  14. I have MUST Grid-Tied inverters, they used to be on the PEA approved list, now they're not, very strange.
  15. Yes that's correct. In the UK you are automatically a tax resident if you live there, if you don't and are a British subject, you can elect to be a tax resident.
  16. In this the computer age, I am sure departures and arrivals are recorded and kept in perpetuity.
  17. No, I haven't made a false declaration. My UK bank asked me where I was tax resident, I told them UK. That's an elective choice. I chose to remain tax resident in the UK. They didn't ask the question "Should I be tax resident in another country? eg Thailand".
  18. A few years ago, I had a call from my UK bank and they asked me where I was tax resident, and I told them the UK. It's not a smart move to tell them you are tax resident in Thailand (or stay in Thailand >180 days per year). The bank doesn't care whether what you tell them is true, they just need to know to comply with local regulations. I have wondered if it's possible for me to be tax resident nowhere, that would be very useful.
  19. Thai law has another category "Controller of Property" using this can create almost the same as a trust. Take legal advice.
  20. I know he is a bigger man and will admit he made a mistake, he may even say sorry
  21. You didn't answer the question, you're not going all transam on me are you?
  22. That almost sounds like "I'm sorry, I apologise I made a mistake".
