  1. Are you posting in the right thread Jonny? Nothing in this topic relates to your imaged views on biological reality. Is this another one of your fixations? What triggered it I wonder?!
  2. And yet here you are Jonny. Nobody in this is thread is talking about DEI, why do you feel the need to toss it into the discussion? Perhaps something about Mamdani triggered your fixation.
  3. I’m not a fan of The Telegraph, but I think that is a bit harsh.
  4. I’d be more than a little surprised if you had ever heard of him prior to posting in this thread. Not that a casual look at the guy, hearing his name or learning of his faith wouldn’t be enough to trigger your reaction.
  5. Well he’s not in power yet and if he does become NYC Mayor it will be via an open and fair election. But we could have some fun with this. Each time someone who follows a faith attains power we might make a statement like ‘Another [insert respective religion] in a position of power’ See how far we get through the roll call of the world’s religions before it kicks off.
  6. Saudi Arabia is among the places I’ve lived and worked, way higher on the ‘would I go again’ than some other places I‘ve lived and worked. My time in Jeddah in particular was a very positive experience.
  7. Because they represent the UK’s Jewish community, within which there is diversity of backgrounds and views. There’s a number of clues in the OP and linked article.
  8. What’s more lame and pathetic is bone spurs attempting to shield himself from criticism behind military personnel. Criticism of Trump is not criticism of serving military personnel. The man is a disgrace.
  9. Jealousy is a horrible thing. Trump is hated in NY, he can’t abide this young man building a grassroots movement without the backing of Super PACs and billionaires. Who owns you Donny?
  10. A polar opposite.
  11. She has my sincere sympathies, it can’t have been easy for her. And please, if you are going to invent responses on my behalf, don’t then make the idiotic argument that they represent any paucity on the part of arguments I haven’t made. The paucity of arguments you yourself imagined is all your own.
  12. You don’t seem to know much about the part NY has played in history of immigration to America.
  13. Yes I have, and I also know you are living in hope. Have you ever heard of that other thing from Greek history ‘democracy’?
  14. “Muslims for racist and religious reasons will back the Muslim candidate. It plays into the "world caliphate" mindset. ” Said without one iota of introspection. There’s no need to embarrass yourself like this, but thank you anyway.
  15. You do know how elections are won in votes cast?
  16. Mamdani Is a breath of fresh air in NY politics, he speaks to the real day to day problems facing New Yorkers and he actually bothers to speak to New Yorkers face to face. Another example of a progressive winning support from the community by starting at the grass roots, a man who is not owned by super PACs and big dollar donors.
  17. I take it you’re not happy then.
  18. I wonder who Adrian Clouatre voted for? Wife gone and Veteran Services being gutted.
  19. Interestingly the disciplinary action was taken on the basis of a breach of code if conduct/brung the ‘board’ into disrepute. Michael Wegier, its chief executive, said: “We are a democratic organisation that welcomes debate, diversity and free speech. Managing diversity of opinion within our organisation depends on our code of conduct. “That code ensures deputies do not create misunderstandings about the position of the board or its members, do not bring the institution into disrepute, and treat one another and the institution with respect.” No statement on the veracity of the statements within the letter was made.
  20. The ‘offending’ open letter is linked here: https://www.ft.com/content/6a506d98-40a0-48e7-8e98-2882beb30914?accessToken=zwAGMuXEajvgkc9qUG2YQKBI59OOmCiCvrMJFA.MEUCIAIGf0Yyz5j1OmpPzjYy1oJ6yMmulSXVVmsrVNBBszaxAiEAxnF3F2Vr2Bt5ZJP0bnmDSh2Ea3bY1YDjtn4YBh7DgYs&sharetype=gift&token=9bed91e5-c667-48f4-b741-5080138780ef
  21. Entirely reasonable. Perhaps not so much a protest as a performance.
  22. “Severe damage” Not ‘obliterated’ then?! Why are you diminishing the claims made by President Trump?
