Now you demonstrate your ignorance of the fact Governments can choose to do more than what’s in their manifesto. Doing more than what’s in a manifesto is not a U-turn or a lie either.

Governments stand for election on the basis of their manifesto. It’s why, for example, the House of Lords doesn’t get to prevent legislation that is in the Government’s manifesto, it’s what the electorate voted for. You might recall the Salisbury convention from back when you were learning how your Government functions.

Not at all. That so many here are unaware (perhaps deliberately so) that Governments are elected to deliver their manifesto is something of a surprise. But then the UK is nation I which people choose to stop working before they reach their retirement age and then expect t to be compensated when it turns out they got their math wrong.

It’s odd to use the term ‘Women Against State Pension Inequality’ in a campaign for compensation for the outcome of having unequal State pension rights removed. The complaint that many lost out because they stopped working before pension age is bizarre. Starmer and Labour were elected on the basis of the Labour Party Manifesto, which makes no mention of this issue. And we can’t have him being flush with ‘other people’s money’ can we?!

I don’t necessarily believe you have a house in Banbury, but it’s a trifling matter that I simply can’t be bothered to spend time on. That’s the thing with personal statements and anecdotes, they are not verifiable. That is the only thing that can honestly said of them is they are not verifiable.

What’s that got to do with me not drinking cider? I don’t drink cider, I often buy the Guardian when in the UK and I have never wrapped the Guardian around a bottle of any alcoholic drink, let alone one that I can’t stand the taste of. I have far too much respect for the Guardian to do such a thing.
