I trust the police will receive public help identifying these individuals, investigate, arrest and prosecute, let the courts deal with them. The police tell us they estimate 300,000 attendees, 3 in 300,000 is three too many, they need dealing with. Do you have any comments on the far more numerous arrests for violence of the extreme rightwing counter protestors?

No, not at all. Hold those who engage in such behaviour accountable for their behaviour. Your eagerness to de legitimize the protests is breaking surface.

I’m very much in favour of holding individuals accountable for their behavior, especially individuals with power and influence. I’m not much in favour of collective blaming. Especially not in consideration of the broader context.

I was once in an Edinburgh bar when England beat Scotland at Rugby with a drop kick and conversion in just before the whistle. That’s not an experience I wish to repeat .

The protest has objectives, if those objectives are lawful how can the protest be illegitimate. If lawlessness breaks out then the police have the authority to intervene, and I support that. I see counter protesters have already been arrested, maybe someone has a mind to cause some troubleZ The term ‘agent provocateur’ comes to mind.

He was at the front of the March against the Iraq war too. Pity it failed in It’s objectives.

As a Spurs fan I expect some might be, though West Ham fans might make a showing. I’ll not recite some of the Spurs Supporters chants, they might inflame the already inflammable.

I think it a problem where the primary objective is to break the law (might be an issue amongst some of the counter protester groups) and I think the accountability for law breaking is on the law breaker. I fully support the police arresting and prosecuting those who break the law and I would urge peaceful protesters to assist the police identifying law breakers and singling out those engaging g in I hate mongering (The Hime Secretary included).

No you did not. What you did is employ innuendo aligned with the arguments of those who wish to deny these rights. It goes back to my question, how many of the x,0000 protestors need to demonstrate anti-semitism/lawlessness before all are tarred with the same brush? The existence of extremists in demonstrations and counter demonstrations is nothing new. Nor does it distract from the central arguments of the demonstrations.

‘Think many’ is a bit of a fuzzy thing. Not the kind of argument to deny people their right to peaceful protest.

That’s right Morch. I stick to my argument and don’t get distracted by the slurs tossed my way by those who don’t agree with me. It’s known as consistency.
