Another false equivalence. The extreme rightwing are represented as a significant portion of what the GOP has become. The left are not in the business of undermining the fight against COVID. I wish I could say the same of the GOP, it is the rightwing that has politicized the fight against COVID, and in doing so laid the path to death and serious illness for far too many people who swallowed their lies. This is not about any extremist dictator you choose to name, nor is it about any ideology. The rightwing have politicized the fight against COVID, have spread misinformation and downright lies against all measures to fight this wretched disease and in doing so have a direct part in countless deaths. That said, you’ve misunderstood the data in the report and seem to have completely missed a whole paragraph that specifically addresses the effectiveness of the vaccine against transmission, refer page 6 of the report you linked. Anyone who cares to read what’s written within the chapter (helpfully) entitled ‘Effectiveness Against Transmission’ will find this very clear statement: “An analysis from the ONS Community Infection Survey found that contacts of vaccinated index cases had around 65-80% reduced odds of testing positive with the Alpha variant and 35-65% reduced odds of testing positive with the Delta variant compare to contacts of unvaccinated index cases (18).“ You have misunderstood the data within the report, and the report itself provides evidence that the conclusions you have drawn are incorrect. Again, thank you for posting a link to a credible report.

In a rather friendly sense, I suggest (it’s not a dictate) that you consider vaccination on its medical merits and not on the basis any political considerations.

So now put yourself in the mind of a parent turning up with a very sick child only to be turned away and denied healthcare. It used to take five weeks to cross the Atlantic, technology changed and it can now be for in a handful of hours. I find myself asking the same question.

The vaccines have been tested and fully authorized for use, they are not now because no tested. People have died, children orphaned, odd you missed that bit out. People are often fined for breaking the law, people who comply with the law not so much. I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of videos. Again, others have died, children have been orphaned. Sums nothing up, rather you’ve just demonstrated the point that there is no unified world response, it all depends on where you look. But here’s a thing (and to get you back on topic), the route to ending this pandemic is via vaccination. If you want to pick an argument on the terrible consequences of this pandemic have a go at the anti-mask, anti-public health measures, anti-vaccine crowd. We all want an end to it, some are willing to do their bit, others are not.
