Gary Lineker told to step back from presenting Match of the Day
Chomper Higgot replied to Scott's topic in World News
Your claim that Lineker is a true socialist. I’ve asked you if he has ever made a statement that he’s a socialist and if so do you have a link. Has he, do you have a link or are you engaging in a baseless ad hominem? -

Or so it is alleged. Incidentally, has Gary Lineker ever claimed to be a socialist, let alone a true socialist. Do you have a link to that? -

Then you will have no problem providing the clause number. -

Running out of arguments you go straight to the ad hominem. We got it already, you don’t like Gary Lineker. -

Read the rules you posted, can’t see anything that prevents Lineker offering his personal opinions on his personal social media account. If you believe such a clause exists, please identify it the rules you posted. -

This is what he actually said: ”“An immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s.”” He didn’t liken the UK Government to Nazi Germany, he remarked that “ in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s.” The response, censor Lineker. I mean we can’t have people criticizing the language the Government chooses to use can we. -

Lineker’s remarks were made on his own personal social media account. Nothing to do with anybody’s taxes. -

I love the DOJ’s unofficial name for the ‘invitation letter’. It’s known as ‘A Mae West’ ‘Come up and see me some time’. -

Firstly the BBC has to say they have cause to censor Lineker, there may or may not be rules but their statement is one side of the coin, it doesn’t make it true. Censoring people for speaking up against the Government…. Now what was that about 1930s Germany? -

Arguably your most illogical posts for a long time. Let’s take it apart: “Everyone knows everyone at the BBC is a left wing Labour voter (and if they're not, they soon become one if they wish to keep their job)” I doubt everyone knows anything of the sort, if your statement is true then, this becomes a problem: “The BBC loves diversity, except of course diversity of opinion.” The BBC response to Lineker’s comments on social media with respect to Government Immigration policy (actual events AKA ‘reality’) indicate you are wrong in your first assertion and doubly wrong in your second. Clearly Lineker is being censored for expressing views that are not inline with the extremism that has a grip of the Tory Party. And he wasn’t making those remarks on the BBC, nor do they have any bearing on his role as a sports presenter. Cancel culture right there, and the rightwing baying for it.- 675 replies

Tony Blair left office on 2007, this has nothing at all to do with his time as PM. I suggest you look at the UK Government data for small boat arrivals. https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/irregular-migration-to-the-uk-year-ending-december-2021/irregular-migration-to-the-uk-year-ending-december-2021
