  1. No need to get depressed, change always brings upheavals but things are seldom as bad as they appear at first. We need clarity before we can plan, without clarity we are corn between the millstones of TI and BE. I get well over the required sum needed for the extension but I too don't know which direction to take, should I use transferwise each month to deposit the sum in a Thai account ? use the ATM method ? rely on the German embassy continuing to issue the letter as they said they would ? Will IO continue to accept it ? We are being kept in the dark. It would help if we knew what was discussed at the May meeting, what were the real demands of TI, why the drastic action of the BE and US, why wait until now with the announcement and not in May, why haven't all other embassies followed suit, it could even be that this was an over reaction from the two embassies and things will return as they were. The silence from both sides of the spectrum shows, I think, that as of yet nothing has been written in stone, the BE and US may have jumped the gun.

It’s “written in stone “ in the form of a notice ! NOT Issuing proof of pension income !

  2. I know what you mean. Take Malmo that much featured city because of its high population of immigrants and associated crime. It's got a homicide rate of 3.4 per 100,000. That's 2/3 of the average homicide rate for the USA. Shocking!

Interesting you had to choose USA..the most violent ! Compare it with other scandanavian countries to get a real picture !

  3.
Again an over simplistic interpretation of what is happening There are who stats that relate to traffic numbers/density and KM travelled per vehicle or per person but if you want to go Thai bashing, it's best to ignore those figures as they show the problem is far more=e complicated than just "bad driving".

Complicated it ain’t ! And bad driving is the problem !

  4. I just finished an online chat with my son after sharing this article with him.

He unfortunately, after primary education in Singapore, and college in the US, had endured high school in Thailand.

His response was; "it's impossible for the quality to get any worse, unless you start getting homeless people off the street to become teachers"

Hard to argue with a kid that went through it!

So you put your son in a Gov high school in Thailand after primary school in Singapore ?

  5. Lot more likely the electorate were upset with the removal of of their representative and PM, Turnbull, therefore voted for an Independent. IMO it was a bad decision as now we have a compromised minority ruling party at the whim of Independents and far right micro parties.

The “far right “ are the leadership of the Lib/Nat Gov , Nothing to do with crossbenchers!
