Thailand Targets Tougher Alcohol Laws to Align with Global Norms
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I have found the complete opposite. Particularly in rural areas. And even urban areas. With most Thais it's always a drinking completion. And it leads to excess. -

Thailand Targets Tougher Alcohol Laws to Align with Global Norms
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is nothing much normal about the volume of consumption and easy access/availability of alcohol in Thailand (nor the number of alcohol fueled crimes and roadway deaths)... and it's just the way they (TAT, tourist operators, government lackies on the take) seem to like it, it would seem. And plying the hoi poli with more alcohol is all part of the misguided ideal of Thailand as a tourist paradise (of fools). -
British Man Arrested for Jewellery Theft from Tourists in Pattaya

That staying silent bit won't help you in Thailand, Jordon. Better to admit and get an automatic half off your sentence. Enjoy your prison term, dummy. -

The woke 🤣The new boggyman for the unintelligent when they can articulate an argument based on its merits alone. Try again. The only people who made the CEO shooter a hero are the mentally deficient (left, right and center). -

I see it's time to trot out the foreigners favorite whipping boy for another flogging 😂 -
Well that escalated quickly. Myanmar taking a page out of China's playbook (patrols and force). Of course if the Thai boats where poaching (which would not be a surprise) than Myanmar is within their rights. But it's still a big FU to Thailand. Luckily for Myanmar, Thailand is weak has week leaders and is easily pushed around.

Thai housemaid’s 100 million baht fortune hits a legal snag
Cabradelmar replied to snoop1130's topic in Koh Samui News
That's how this whole nominee scheme is suppose to play out... Thais look the other way while holding out their hands to collect illegal money from the foreigner, and when the foreign dies, leaves or is otherwise no longer welcome, the Thais take everything back, and the cycle states again. don't believe for a minute Thais want illegal nominees to stop operating, and never think that a working class poor Thai will ever benefit from there schemes (ie. this housemaid). TiT. -

No, not at all. Drink as much as you like. It's your liver and brain cells. IDK. But to die for it is just sad on multiple levels. And it's the proliferation of bootleggers and unregulated distilleries in poor countries (the world over) that will just as soon kill you as look at you. But you go to Laos and drink you some Lao home brew vodka. Good luck. -

Mass produced bottled beer isn't the issue. It's bootlegged liquor (and unregulated distilleries) that is the risk now. Add the well know practice of "fake" branded liquors (like Jack Daniels, etc.), which is a well known problem, even in Thailand. Never estimate ones desire to make an easy dollar off tourist. -

Another great reason to not drink alcohol (particularly in the poorest counties). Manufactured death all for the sake of making more money off tourists obsession with alcohol- 141 replies
