Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
The age pension can only be taxed if it is transferred to Thailand. If it is left to accumulate in a Australian bank account, there's nothing Thailand can do. -
I get it, Trump is not a hypocrite. Straight arrow, won't pander to any voting bloc. A Christian who can't quote a single verse from the Bibles he flogs. Appears at Arlington for a photo-op with families of dead people he calls suckers and losers. Blocks a bipartisan bill to control immigration, for political advantage. You can't answer my question as to why Trump's addition to the national debt is somehow better than Harris, so you resort to the same tired name-calling as Trump does. I guess expecting honesty from your posts is a bridge too far.

Do you owe money?

Quite right. I am an outlier, and happy to be so. -
Do you owe money?

We are not all grown up. 46% of Americans owe money on their credit cards. $1.14 trillion. The average American is in debt to the tune of $104,000, including mortgages, student loans, cars etc. If you think you got those card points free without someone paying for it, there's a bridge in Sydney Harbor I'd like to sell you. I bet there are quite a few that would like to be in my financial position. -

Do you owe money?
Lacessit replied to simon43's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
My father was a bank teller. He taught me to avoid debt like the plague. I don't even have a credit rating. Or a credit card. Debit cards only. The last time I owed any money was 50 years ago, I pay any bills as soon as I get them. That way, I can forget about them. I have no interest in impressing friends, relatives and neighbors with my possessions. I buy things for function, not appearances. I have one luxury. Golf. -
I witnessed an argument between Robert Baboian (RIP) and Herbert Townsend over the validity of salt spray testing at the conference. Both were at the top of their fields. Baboian was the prime mover in developing salt spray testing as an ASTM standard. Townsend really got under Baboian's skin when he said " Salt spray testing is an excellent means for deciding what material to use when building a salt spray cabinet".

I don't recall any Clinton supporter getting jail time when she lost. OTOH, of the people who were charged with attempting to storm the Capitol on Trump's instigation, about 50% are behind bars. That fact gives me hope MAGA supporters could not possibly be so stupid as to try it on a second time, if he loses again.

Thankfully, there is more to ASEAN than American politics. So no. The political soapbox does serve a useful function. It helps identify the fruitcakes and wingnuts.

The topic is " Does Donald Trump have dementia?" Biden whataboutism is irrelevant.

Deflection.

If there was a medical diagnosis available that said Trump does not have cognitive decline and/or dementia, don't you think the GOP would be shrieking it to the heavens?

Dallas was my first experience of the USA, when I was one of the speakers at an international corrosion conference. During my week there, I saw Ricky Nelson live on stage. I can remember going to the jewellery section of Nieman-Marcus, and marveling at the mix of classical beauty and sheer vulgarity in the gold section. My next stop was Gary, Indiana, visiting a steel mill. A socio-economic disparity.

Not when it sounds like the sour whining of an envious old man. OTOH, her calling him a sack of sh!t was spot on. She's endorsed Harris, voter registrations in her age group ballooned afterwards. If you can't connect the dots, I can't help you. -

Yeah, I can just see 20- somethings burdened with student loans lining up to vote for a 78 yo. -
Trump vs. Taylor Swift: A Battle He’s Bound to Lose

It's probably fair to say Taylor may not have as many fans in 5-10 years. She will no doubt have a rusted on base, just like Trump. I know people who are still fans of the Bee Gees, and Elvis Presley. Right now, she has considerable influence. IMO Trump would have done much better to keep his mouth shut, but we all know that is Mission Impossible. -
I honestly don't understand why there is so much hatred and denigration directed at Harris. To me, she looks and sounds like a normal human being. Perhaps that's the problem, some people prefer iconoclasts because they feel it validates their own existence Please explain to me how Harris running with policies that will add $1.2 trillion to the national debt, is so much worse than Trump, who is going to add $5.8 trillion.

Where did you have your honeymoon, Fantasyland? According to X, Walz had his honeymoon in China, while he was teaching English there. I had my honeymoon on the Gold Coast. it didn't convert me to surfing. How does the Left manage to cheat by 7 million votes? Your post is nonsense.

I fail to understand how Trump asking Raffensperger to find him 11,800 votes can be interpreted as Trump attempting to stop a steal. I also fail to understand how attempting to install fake electors is a legitimate part of the election process.
