  1. There is a second debate coming. If Biden performs poorly in that, he will be told to go. Trumpers should be careful what they wish for. A new, younger Democrat nominee deprives Trump of the age card, his age then comes into question. Meantime, July 11 and Judge Merchan are waiting.
  2. The only toxic ladies I have encountered were in Australia. My misfortune to marry one.
  3. Fossil fuels are the mainstay of many industries, and will remain so. Lubricants, polymers, pharmaceuticals, textiles, fertilizers - the list goes on and on. Having said that, the end effect of BURNING fossil fuels for energy is the production of carbon dioxide, giving rise to global warming. The science is unarguable on that point. Mankind needs alternative sources of energy - solar, wind, tidal, even nuclear. The main technical challenge is storage of said energy to duplicate the baseload function of fossil-fueled power stations. There are vested interests and denialists who want business as usual. They don't care we are sh!tting in our own nest.
  4. The ozone layer is the same because the Montreal Protocol of 1987 banned the production of ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons, and most countries signed up to make it stick. Without that, most people with white skins would be flooding melanoma clinics. I don't bother debating people anymore on the existence of global heat and climate extremes. The facts are there, it's a waste of my time.
  5. To understand the science behind global warming and climate change requires comprehension of the laws of thermodynamics. Global warming is the Second Law in operation, climate change is the First Law. About 1% of the world's population on average has tertiary training in science, even fewer have a grounding in thermodynamics. It's hard science. I'd say at a guess the number of politicians who have any scientific training is vanishingly small. Training in law, business and economics is their forte, and that's not the skill set needed.
  6. Rapeseed oil: This is the original oil extracted from the rapeseed plant. It can be used for industrial purposes like lubrication, but its high erucic acid content makes it unsuitable for eating. Canola oil: This is a type of rapeseed oil that has been bred to have low levels of erucic acid and glucosinolates (which can give a bitter taste). Canola stands for "Canadian oil, low acid" and is generally recognized as safe for consumption. In most places, like North America and Australia, "canola oil" is the term you'll see on grocery store shelves. Rapeseed oil, if available, is likely for industrial uses.
  7. I went to Gemini for this answer: The key difference between rapeseed and olive oil lies in their fatty acid composition: Fatty Acids: Rapeseed Oil: Rich in both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, with a good balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. It's also low in saturated fat. Olive Oil: Primarily monounsaturated fats, particularly oleic acid, known for its heart-healthy benefits. Extra virgin olive oil may also contain some polyphenols, which are antioxidant compounds. Other Chemical Differences: Smoke Point: Rapeseed oil generally has a higher smoke point than olive oil, making it suitable for high-heat cooking. Extra virgin olive oil has a lower smoke point and is better for lower-heat applications or drizzling for flavor. Vitamins: Rapeseed oil is a good source of vitamin E, while olive oil content varies depending on processing. Both oils offer health benefits, but their chemical makeup makes them suited for different purposes.
  8. Oils are liquid at room temperature, fats are solid. Fats are usually higher in the glyceryl esters of saturated fatty acids such as palmitic and stearic acid. Oils contain more unsaturated fatty acids, variations of oleic, linoleic, and linolenic acid. Liquidity also depends on whether the fat/oil has differing proportions of monoglycerides, diglycerides, or triglycerides. I have found a low fat option in cooking is an air fryer. I line the cooking basket with aluminium foil, and spray with a little olive oil to prevent sticking. No mess, no fuss.
  9. I have not seen any of it here, except in cans. Asparagus is zero fat.
  10. True. However, I don't recall saying I did. Bamboo is a good source of fibre, protein, and vitamins. Ideal for someone trying for a healthy weight.
  11. Bamboo. High fibre and minerals, very little sugar, or fat. I eat it with a bit of chili.
  12. I boil up vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower until al dente. Buy some sai ua, northern Thai herbal sausage. Put it in a blender with some tasty cheese. It makes a thick soup, similar to Dutch curry soup or mulligatawny. Low carbohydrate.
  13. Trump being mean to anyone opposing him is as certain as the sun rising in the east. IIRC he has a reputation of not paying sub-contractors what they are owed, to the point where any lawyer working for him demands payment up front. I believe the expression is as mean as a sewer rat.
  14. Your contributions appear to be a wailing Greek chorus of TDS. The record is stuck in repeat mode. Let me check in my GF's village, there may be a vacancy for you.
  15. Ta ta, going for a swim. I'll check out how many nothing posts you make later, responding to other posters who think you're an idiot.
  16. How many anabolic steroids did you take at the gym? It would explain most of your posts.
  17. If you don't drink or take meds, IMO you definitely should.
  18. I'm in good company then. 1/ Trump stated only mobsters take the Fifth, then invoked it 400 times during a deposition. 2/ Trump avoided military service by claiming bone spurs. 3/ Trump said he would take the witness stand in the hush money trial, then didn't. 4/ Trump cries a river every day on Truth Social, all those mean nasty judges and prosecutors. Say hello to the inmates of your asylum for me.
  19. Given you have been posting insults on this thread like confetti at a wedding, you should not be surprised to get return fire. In your case, you are bringing a knife to a gunfight. Your insults lack any originality. You know next to nothing about me, it's going to stay that way.
  20. See response above. The adjective went straight through to the wicketkeeper, obviously. I am beginning to think you had a lobotomy at some point, it's not possible for someone to be this dumb at birth without being institutionalized.
  21. Your article is comparing apples and oranges. Daniel Hale was sentenced to jail for disclosing details of America's drone assassination program. AFAIK Biden has not disclosed anything similar. False equivalence.
  22. Standard response from someone who has nothing, it's tedious.
  23. I get it, all a conspiracy, the DOJ doesn't have any honest Republicans. Biden was not prosecuted because he gave back any documents as soon as he was asked to return them. It took an FBI raid to get Trump to disgorge his, after 18 months of lying and obstruction. Silly me, I forgot - the FBI is rife with Democrat sympathizers. You keep claiming Biden is a liar, without evidence. It's called begging the question, although I doubt you got far enough in school to be introduced to logic and fallacies.
  24. The most disappointing aspect of the current situation was the backflip by Nikki Haley. She jettisoned any claim to integrity. IMO it would be impossible for any Hollywood scriptwriter to come up with a plot where a convicted felon becomes President, but there it is. Certainly the Founding Fathers never envisaged it.
  25. I am not American, why should he? Why do you think Trump is running? He knows if he doesn't become #47, jail is almost a certainty. He floated the question of whether he could pardon himself years ago. It could get interesting on July 11, bring your popcorn, and some tissues.
