  1. There's a saying you can' teach an old dog new tricks. Harris did well in her CNN interview, even though she is known not to like them. She skewered Trump with the SOS comment. Trump's interviews are usually train wrecks, rambling and avoiding questions. He storms out in a huff if the questions get too pressing. He's using the same old songbook, not realizing it is counterproductive.
  2. Blood tests every two weeks is hypochondria territory. But we already know that from the multiple health threads you start, describing your latest ailment. I gave up alcohol as soon as I started chemo about two years ago. In any case, the 30 minute buzz i get from alcohol is not worth the 4-5 times I have to get up to pee, during the night. I've seen several people die badly here from alcohol. I remember one guy who went back to NZ to commit suicide, in constant pain and sh!tting blood.
  3. True. It depends on how much one wants to "fit in". I don't feel the need to.
  4. The half that was lower than the water level. I had a flight to Melbourne booked after landing at Don Muang in the morning. The airline ferried us to a hotel for two days because Suvarnabhumi was inaccessible.
  5. If one wants to make friends that way. In my GF's village, the death toll from long-term lao khao poisoning resembles a Russian battalion in Ukraine. Those that don't die from lao khao become incapacitated.
  6. True. Mineral turpentine is probably the best choice, and least likely to damage paintwork.
  7. Producer prices up 12%. Food prices up 10%. Rouble down 20%. Bank interest rates 18%. Inflation 9%. Sure, the economy is doing well on GDP. That's because it is a war economy, and war economies are unsustainable long term. Just ask the Americans, after Vietnam.
  8. Then I won't bother editing the last word in your post either. Please tell me, how did releasing 5000 Taliban prisoners help either the Afghan government or the US in withdrawing in good order? Like trying to put a fire out with gasoline.
  9. Given the number of ailments the OP seems to have, I would suggest Valium.
  10. If my opinion doesn't matter, why does it seem to have struck a nerve with you?
  11. IIRC the Bangkok floods of 2011 put half the city under water. The only safe place to park was on the overpasses. That was storm Nock-Ten. The laws of thermodynamics say storms will get more intense. If you find a way to beat those laws, I'll be the first to nominate you for a Nobel Prize in physics.
  12. People who are very rich can afford to defend their properties with dykes and seawalls, the ordinary Joe can't. That point seems to be missed by posters talking about how the rich are buying waterfront property.
  13. I am not British, and I spend my time as I see fit. Posters on ASEAN don't get to tell me what to do.
  14. It's a safe bet it won't be released if it shows what really happened. Perhaps Team Trump is feverishly working on ways to edit the footage without being detected. IIRC that's what tripped Nixon up.
  15. Just as I know you will keep making excuses for a felon, racist, misogynist and grifter. He's your kind of guy.
  16. You don't get to tell me when to shut up, Mr. Basement Dweller. Not my opinion, it's Trump's. There's the Trump Camp version, well known as liars, or the Army statement in black and white. I know who I would rather believe.
  17. Still very much in denial, aren't you? A grub like Trump calling you a basement dweller behind closed doors. You remind me of a dog licking its masters' hand after a whipping. You are talking about no video, saying the incident was BS. Here's what the Army has to say:
  18. I don't know Tulsi. The general consensus seems to be RFK is a raving lunatic. So you deflect to those two. You can't handle the truth, Trump thinks you are a basement dweller. Who is delusional?
  19. Perhaps you'd like to hear what Trump himself really thinks of you, according to his former press secretary.
  20. Probably only looked at the title, and never read the article.
  21. The Trump campaign has racked up bills of $1,679,000 in cities from Tucson, Arizona, to Burlington, Vermont. Some are unpaid for rallies held back in 2018. Trump is well known for not paying his bills. The cities are wearing the cost of providing venues, security, traffic control, and cleaning up. IMO the cities should take a leaf out of the book of his lawyers, who all demand payment up front before they will work for him. Withhold permits for rallies until he pays up. Trump probably thinks the First Amendment extends to free money. The biggest bills - El Paso, $569,000. Minneapolis, $530,000. Albuquerque, $211,000. Tucson, $82,000. Plus 8 other cities.
  22. Even more disgusting.
  23. Steven Cheung is a liar, and a coward. He accused the official who protested the illegality of having mental issues. A guy who probably is not permitted to respond to falsehoods. Nothing is too low for Trump, or the sycophants he employs.
  24. The Supreme Court has handed down some biased decisions, most particularly the immunity one, which is nowhere in the Constitution. The Democratic judges all dissented quite scathingly. Think about it. President Harris could order the arrest and execution of the entire Supreme Court. Trump could order the DOJ and FBI disbanded, and sell nuclear secrets to Iran. According to the courts' judgment, both would enjoy presidential immunity. The entire immunity saga was an effort by judges appointed by Trump, to try to protect him from the consequences of his actions. IMO it would be much better if the court was balanced between Republicans and Democrats. If they can't convince one another of the merits of the case, it gets sent back to al ower court to decide.
