If all major governments around the world are borrowing record breaking amounts to support the covid pandemic relief and to stimulate their economies, why has it taken this long for Thailand to follow suit? Shouldn’t it be an easy decision for Thai government to make?
the poor people should be the first to receive support although as always I expect they will be last in line with maybe a handful receiving a token gesture as a bag of ramen noodles, bottled water and a blanket if lucky.

Something to note is, if you do not remit funds into Thailand earned within the previous 12 months then the funds are classed as savings and not subject to tax.
However I'm unsure how this stands if you are resident in Thailand for tax purposes.
Also, there are considerable fees associated with a Hong Kong company. Before committing please ensure you understand those fees. Unless your turnover and profit is substantial it may be beneficial to setup elsewhere.
Also now that Hong Kong is run by the CCCP is it still a good place to establish a business as a non-resident foreigner?

I don't understand family turning on you. Family stick together where I come from. That's what I was taught from an early age and pass on to my kids.
I was taught the same although extended family can turn on you no matter how much you give - sometimes it’s never enough

You remind me of a friend of mine who died recently. Not one of his family from the Uk were at his funeral.
He basically cut them all off because of a 24-year old prostitute from Buriram. So sad, IMHO.
Unless your family turn on you of course. Maybe you are lucky! Others may not be as fortunate to have a great family still living.

.......and that's the result of "self-insuring".
The insurance companies are a big scam not covering certain ages and health conditions.
even if they do take the money and issue cover the extra small print in the terms and conditions is a mine field.

What no one has mentioned so far is the massive inflation trend that’s starting worldwide.
governments are borrowing at record levels to pay for coronavirus and materials/commodity prices are in limited supply and increasing.
inflation will be a big factor in cost of real estate over the next 5-10 years
wait until rents rise to follow and see if some long term renters convert to buyers
read this again in 5 years and let me know if I was right or not

Although it seems fine at first glance, I wouldn’t trust the Thai government health system.
I don’t want to cause alarm but I would remain in the US to receive the transplant because I know someone who got a serious blood bourne disease from a Thai government hospital blood transfusion that was never admitted to or picked up/tested for and it was only picked up by a blood test that occurred and was treated later outside of Thailand.
This is known because a screening blood test was negative prior to the transfusion.
I wish you well with the transplant, you must have a lovely partner to want to donate. Although for what my opinion is worth to you, I would wait to see if an organ becomes available in the US as the safest option.

I think its then pretty stupid of Brits that when they go to an other country they don't think about it. My own country has free healthcare to. But because we pay for an insurance and part from our salary we know healthcare is not free.
But its just a big oversight moving to an other country and not thinking of healthcare.
As others have said, even if you buy insurance you are not necessarily covered. In fact I hope you never need to claim because the small print is usually excessive and exempts you.
also if you are unfortunate enough to endure a medical problem in the future, you will from Theron deemed to have a pre existing condition and you're then tied in to your one and only existing insurer.
Private health insurance is nothing but a scam and I buy it but it’s next to worthless for most people.
Ps - British pay the national insurance premium so the NHS is not Free

They do have some news on real crooks. A white foreigner murdered his Thai wife and child up north. Does that fit your criteria? Or should we pretend that’s an attack on westerners? The guy not wearing a mask didn’t kill his wife too did he? Shucks I must have missed that part of the article!
..he must be a real news worthy crook then based on your criteria?

Why blurr his face ? Should show to the world this unethical behaviour.
I agree this guy is douche although for this story to make the National news to me is just sad on behalf of this news channel. It’s just a way to try to blame the westerners again. Is there no other more worthy news about real crooks?
How about news story’s about where the virus originated from?

The authorities in other countries say there is very little if no chance of transmission in the outdoor fresh air.
A walk along the beech without a mask might do everyone's mental health some good.
Shaming on national TV and fining them might have the opposite effect.
Lets mention what this is REALLY about, which is 'BLAMING' the foreigner again for ones own incompetency.

If it’s the UK rules you are concerned about and not Cambodia rules, then Uk residency is based on number of days present in the Uk in any 12 month period and so your proof to show UK officials will be in your passport.- 3

Trouble with one of our dogs
in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
Posted
If you are struggling either find a new home for one or two dogs or contact soidog.org or similar foundation as there are a few in Thailand who would neuter and prepare dogs for adoption around the world.
getting them all neutered is a good start.
