Buy a 4 cylinder, the sound from the exhaust is music to the ears with the right pipe.
Those horrible sounding small twins make me want to vomit........... anything loud under 800cc is really annoying.- 1

PS. The "go home" thingy is frowned upon here.....????
Yes I've read it.
It says nothing about attacking fellow road users.

This foreigner should be charged with assault and deported.
He clearly overreacted, he has not got the experience to manage a dangerous situation, unexpected events occur on Thailand's Roads.Thailand has its own road rules, we don't ride the same as back home, we need to adapt. At times I ride in a similar fashion to the old guy, Thais recognize this manoeuvre and move to the right so the oncoming rider can merge into the lane he's about to enter.
Go home, crazy foreigner.- 2

How about MYOB? Is it your life? Do you have no real concerns?
Like I said, It becomes my business when an illegal modified scooter rides dangerously close at speed on the roads that I travel on.
I reckon people who want to act in this way/poor behavior on public roads get a proper motorbike, go to the track without your family as pillion and make as much noise, riding recklessly.I'm fed up with some of the Thais and their unsafe road manner. I would like to travel on the public roads safely, we don't need foreigner's that haven't grown up using public roads that we travel on.

Helmet or no helmet is not a guarantee of saving your life in an accident.
You could get your body crushed which would still kill you.
A good parent will always put a helmet on a child.
A good parent would never ride dangerously with a child on board.- 1

I am one of them. Mind your own business.
Best you stay clear of me when you are on a family outing. Why ride erratically on a noisy scooter at speed in a small soi, you're a grown man, not a teenager.
Having you're family riding pillion you should be riding safely, be a responsible person.
This behaviour is childish, grow up- 2

Why does it bother you?
The roads are dangerous enough with the Thai riders riding too fast in small sois, I don't want to be in danger by a lunatic foreigner.
The law in Thailand says you must pay for a child (all costs..hospital etc.) in an accident whether you're at fault or not.
Sadly your lacking knowledge in an area that is critical when living in Thailand

Who cares.
Adults not wearing a helmet should be a personal choice anyway. With all the problems in the world, seems so petty.
The infant was not wearing a helmet, this is concerning

I was riding my PCX down soi buakhao the other day, stuck behind a slow-moving baht bus, as I waited slowly riding I heard one of those annoying loud scooters behind so I passed the baht bus swiftly pulling over to the left to allow the Thai rider to pass. To my amazement, it was middle aged, bald, westerner riding his blinged-up Aerox with his family (wife and child) onboard, none wearing a helmet...... you'd reckon he'd be riding in a safe manner with his family as pillion. I had to laugh as he passed as I thought it was one of the funniest/silliest things I've seen for quite some time.
Seriously, this was not a funny sight, why is it that there seems to be so many middle-aged western guys not wearing helmets, sadly many elderly/geriatric men are also not wearing helmets.
We see the Thais not wearing helmets, the Thais have not had the education we westerners have been given, I can only assume all of those westerners not wearing helmets have no education.- 4

How long are the certificates of residence good for. A month, a year?
Mine have always been the length of my visa.
For many years I was entering on a tourist visa, working offshore I only needed the 28 days, this was a problem when buying new vehicles, the few weeks would always be a problem for the sales team transferring the registration into my name.

If a Thai person buys a condo its then in the Thai quota, if a foreigner buys a condo (up to 49% of the block) its in the foreign quota.
Thais cant be holding foreign quota condos.
A condo becomes foreign quota if its sold to a foreigner, otherwise its Thai .
Nope again.
I keep correcting you.
My daughter born in Thailand (Thai), has a condo in foreign quota.

You'll find 49% only are foreign owned
Often the other 51% is also foreign owned via a company structure.
Yes, there are foreigners that buy condos with a Thai company (I've never understood this) saying that Thai's buy condos with a foreign quota as they know the resale price is always higher for properties with foreign ownership.

I have a particular grievance with the condo and have asked the office for help but with no resolution forthcoming from there I have decided to go higher.
Juristic Management.
Over the many years I've purchased a few condos around town, my main grief is property management, one particular company that seems to think they are there to manage the Condominium how they feel is best for them.
Many years ago one of my condos had this company managing the building and we removed them (not an easy job), now I've bought another condo and the developer has put this same useless company in charge. Bloody dodgy company..... security sleeping through the night, allowing anyone to enter through the security gates, anyone parking their vehicles in the underground parking, packs dogs to enter the facility, it goes on and on.
There seems to be a very close relationship with the Developer and Juristic manager, this is not a good situation for the co-owners. The appointed Juristic Manager is also a partner with the developer, surely this is illegal.
Over the many years of condo ownership I feel its always best to keep the developer and juristic company separate. -

collectively referred to as the Condominium Juristic Person. Its a reference to the legal entity, not an actual person
Nope.
There will be a Juristic Manager also other staff, building manager, receptionist etc.

Jomtien has always charged 300 baht for a Certificate of Residence - their application form if I recall correctly, has you check whether for car or motorcycle license - if you say you want to get both, they say you have to have one Certificate for each license - thus 4 photos (2 required per Certificate) and 600 baht. However, as mentioned, the Banglamung Land Transport Office where you get the license will accept one original and once photocopy of the Certificate if getting both licenses.
For years they would issue 2 for 500 baht but I've noticed over recent years that they want the full 300 baht for each (total 600 baht)

There is a reason that they don't block the whole road. People who get trapped between the barriers need to be able to escape.

You are obviously not familiar with the eastern line. It is effectively dedicated to freight between Bangkok and Rayong with about 2/3 trains an hour. They are very long and heavy and travel about 40 mph, stopping at crossings is not an easy option.
Yep, agree with everything you said.
These drivers queueing across intersections know that these trains travel so slow.
Having to stop a fully loaded goods train because some idiot is blocking the train line.
-
I'm amazed that there was an accident, these trains travel so slow.
I witnessed a train stopping because the traffic was at a standstill across the level crossing at Soi Khao Talo.
Trains stopping for traffic queued across level crossings, this happens regularly.- 2

I've been living in Thailand for 20 years and sadly this childish behaviour from grown adults is becoming more common.
I read about foreigners complaining about the police being unfair or that the police are only booking foreigners etc. this is due to these delinquents, seems to be more and more of these guys coming to Thailand that have never grown up.- 1

Yes, my wife could rent a box an I use it
Be careful putting the safety box in your wife's name as you may not be able to go into the vault to access your safety box. At the very least she would have to be with you on each and every time you visited your safety box.
I have never asked my bank to take someone so I'm not sure of the banks policy regarding visitor visits- 1

I don't understand why they do not enforce this helmet less policy nationwide.
They do occassionally, it's like fruit picking in Australia.... seasonal.
