Thai logic. Penalise the passengers not the company. Same logic applied when they banned passengers from drinking alcohol on trains and stations after a member of staff r*ped and killed a young girl, whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol in 2014. A ban that is still in force to this day.

I opened an account with K Bank in Hua Hin a couple of months ago with only my driving license as proof of address. I think we assume Thai banking staff have the same level of intelligence, competence and education as most other countries, but unfortunately that is not the case.

I don’t recall the story mentioning the Baht against the British Pound.

Ban its sale from the internet and street shops completely. Make it available for medical purposes from hospitals only. That will put an end to (most) selfish weed dependent users stinking the place out. Nip it in the bud NOW. No pun intended

I opened an account last month at Kasikorn on the main road in Hua Hin. They opened an account for me with just my passport (with O retirement stamp) and my Thai driving license as proof of address, but were happy to accept my rental agreement too.

I had similar with the main branch of SCB bank in Hua Hin recently. They requested I sign forms to ‘freeze’ the 800K for 2 months before they would issue a letter for immigration.
