  1. Anybody remember when Thaksin introduced little "post boxes" on the pedestrian bridges in Bangkok to make the Police check them out?..... Although it probably predates this thread by another 10 years or so....

A former ?? don't know the word to use, is now at the Londoner in Soi Post, but it is a good many years since he was there.

The latter part of that sentence is confusing, is he there or not?? .... I don't like the Londoner (arrogant aussie owner?) ..... but if it is important I will get somebody to check it out....

  3. Bugger - I've been trying to post an invite to a party with free drink, free women, free music and Free Willy (the movie) but was unable to do so for 3 days....So I spent my lottery winnings elsewhere... the girls are very happy on Soi Honey....They've now started calling out "connection not refused here" !!!!

Actually, it wouldn't be so crazy to, instead of buying the property in the village, write her a mortgage to yourself, and payments will be due in the form of services rendered.  Breaking the mortgage will cause loss of use of the property, and it will be offered to others, along with the 30+30 land lease.

    Yep...an Interest Only Mortgage....

Nearly all Thai women prefer lighter skin. It is considered prestigious, to have a man with light skin. They consider westerners to be insane for sitting out in the sun, to get a tan. Bizarre and incomprehensible behavior, as far as most are concerned. So, the answer is that they would prefer that you do not have a tan.

20 years ago ??..Yeh....Nowadays ??... Nah.......Thai women have traveled a lot more, watched more films and understand a lot more of the world than you are portraying in your post.

Sure there are whitening cream adverts bla bla bla .....but like most adverts that seemingly are aimed at adult women their real target audience is impressionable teenage girls......

No not really, the flight does leave a bit earlier from Doha. And approx 1 hr of wait time at Rangoon. Would assume no one will be allowed off the plane if there final destination is U-Tapao. Already asked to change to a Bangkok flight but was told no from the Bangkok ticket office and given a Qatar email address which deals with complaints.. not expecting any thing helpful to come out of that.

    Thanks for the reply..

My concern would be if anything changed with arrival time at LHR as I am limited with choice of National coaches departure times...

Also, having flown several times out of Yangon , I'd say there is bugger all there to keep you "entertained" for an hour but also sitting on a plane with no wine service or in flight entertainment or toilets(??) for an hour aint much fun either..

I shall keep an eye on this thread to see how things develop...but please remember that in your discomfort and pain you are doing all of us a great service ....what courage and selflessness you have <Insert your National Anthem here> !!!!

talking of garbage,,  TRUCKS,,  do they ever clean of fumigate them.christ you can smell them from a mile away, riding up beach road the other day, what the hell is that smell, yep, knew it, garbage truck, you can see just by looking at them they are never hosed down and cleaned

I think they should all be fitted with a water tank and hose so that they can hose down the pavement and gutter as they go along ...I do see the water lorries but there seems to be no coordination between the 2 activities....

I could maybe do without the tail, but I might be willing to give'em a go. Maybe up north, or perhaps Isaan? Heck, it could be Prachin, I suppose. I'd be interested to know where this was taken, as well.

Yup..At rice harvesting it is the same as my spud picking days. The boys get out and catch as many as they can to sell at the market.....I had an advantage on them though.....the spuds tended to run away very slowly...

One of the things I don't like about crisps/chips is the way they blow out of your hand when you're trying to eat them when riding your motorbike.

    Is there a special technique?

This is where the tubes could come in handy ... if a designer could make a device that holds the tube and a phone in one hand then you can take the crisps as required with the other, leaving a 5 year old child to steer the motorcy...Easy !!

About a year ago Pratunam was looking quite good as the rubbish was being cleaned up every day.

Now it is lazy cats fault, maybe a rubbish clean-up of BK and some rat poisoning programme may help.

Well.......Of course you are right....Samak was a chunt and it is of no insignificance that he died in pain with cancer in USA.....But at the end of the day he got his bribes and things were sorted out.....The Good Old days..????
