Diving into a swimming pool now considered reckless? The insurance company needs to be suitably shamed and harassed.

ALL swimming pools that I have ever seen here, or anywhere, have a No Diving policy and it's normally posted on a 'Swimming Pool Rules' notice around the pool area. That almost certainly being the case it is obvious the insurers will not pay out.

Which model of Vespa do you have?

Strange, when I first got here, I rented a PCX to take me on a 80km trip. Steering and suspension was terrible. I admit, it was a rental bike but had only done 20k kms and the suspension was gone! The handlebar position means you are riding with bent arms :-). I know many people buy a new pcx and then replace the suspension and handlebars, but why should you on a new bike?

All current models of Vespa’s I’ve owned, have better suspension, better handling in city traffic, can cruise comfortably for 100’s of kms.

You get what you pay for, simples.

So I thought I would update everyone.  Its been 8 months since I started this thread and--all still good.  My girl spends more time at my condo now.  Her family are fully aware that I am her bf and she stays with me on occasion.  She is still amazingly chill and kind and sweet.  Still seems crazy about me.  Going on 3 yers since we first met and 2.5 since we became a couple.

    Honestly, never been happier.

If your happy dating a 20 year old at your age who cares?  of course she loves you I mean why wouldn't a beautiful 20 year old love a 50+ ?  go for it, enjoy the illusion who cares?  Luckily we live in a place where it doesn't matter and 50+ year old sad gits can date beautiful young girls. Enjoy it!

Why is it so many young good-looking Thai girls hang-out with their butch Toms? I believe that oral sex, with its pleasures and none of the potential ramifications of intercourse, is a strong possibility.

Rarely about sex I'm told by several of the female part.

It is all about 'looking after' (i.e. hugs and money) and most of the females in those relationships would go with whatever sex offered them those things and many, of course, are broken hearted by some mean chappie and the Tom offers solace etc.

And as far as I know, ordinary women (i.e. not hookers) feel the same way about giving blow jobs to their boyfriends/husbands.  Hollywood is responsible for making it appear 'ordinary' for women to give their hubby's blow jobs, IMO!

Admittedly, it's not often a topic of conversation amongst ordinary women ????.

It's not 'ordinary'?  you mean those Roman frescos were fakes?  it's been going on (with a lot besides) for thousands of years IMO!

This "liar" talk needs to stop.  The standard was "income" - not "net remitted to Thailand".  Some say, "Well, obviously they meant..." - in which case, they don't know what the word "income" means - which is "How much money you make."  I have never seen it defined any other way - "income" is always pre-tax, pre-expenses.

Those folks were not lying to anyone - their letters were 100% legit.  The amount demanded was high-enough that such folks would have plenty left to live on in Thailand after expenses.  They were doing no harm in Thailand - only helping employ thousands of Thais with "free money" from abroad - and they are now screwed unless they can pay off an agent, rotate money back to their passport-country, or some other "workaround" scheme to cover their non-Thai expenses.

Come on. As with the 800,000 it has to be 'here' the whole purpose is to have the money in Thailand 'available' to meet expenses. I know several American friends who do not have the 65,000 and lied through the ridiculous system.

Prove it through Thai bank book and stop this nonsense.

Agreed, income deposited in a Thai bank can be verified by Immigration.

The issue at hand is Immigration would need to issue a new directive in order for IO's to accept Thai bank books/letters

as proof of income, in the same manner they do for 400 or 800K deposited in a Thai bank.

Right but isn't it madness? They could finish all this 'letter' 'no letter' nonsense by accepting Thai Bank Books. Why wouldn't they?  THAI BANK BOOKS?  I have way over the 65,000 coming in but it's not acceptable?  there in BLACK AND WHITE?  so I currently have 800,000 which I'd love to release.

With respect to all the outraged 'why won't my embassy give me a letter' brigade why don't we all concentrate on the 'why wont they accept bank books' (unless, of course, you don't really have that income coming in and you relied on your embassy to accept your 'word').

There's nothing wrong with people who hire agents but agents should only have one queue ticket number per queue position.

It wouldn't be fair if they have 50 passports in hand and just have to queue at one position.

If there are 10 agents with 50 passports each (total 500 passports per day), you can imagine why the system was abused with more and more people going to agents.

Agents now have to work hard for their money. They should stagger their visits if they don't have enough staff.

Those 500 passports save 500 people in the QUEUE. Posters should be careful what they wish for.
