  1. I was obviously referring to Labour and the Lib Dems - it's not all about YOU
  2. I recall Labour were amongst those whingers - Lib Dems made it a colossal manifesto thing - funny how the hypocrites change.
  3. I didn't say it was - just a comparison as we live here (I suspect some posters don't live here, but anyway...).
  4. Precisely - and I regret many things but cannot put them right. All of the things I regret are career-based - motivated by ambition. Never mind. “The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.” ― Omar Khayyám"
  5. No problem - been here 15 years - most educated Thais speak English these days.
  6. Are you British? They had a seat landslide but not a vote landslide. Tommy is hated by Reform and a million miles from what Reform stand for.
  7. I don't agree with the "Non, Je ne regrette rien" type of thinking. I often regret my selfishness of the past and hope I have learnt, and I can truly say if I knew then what I know now, I would have been kinder (in my career).
  8. No, they didn't. The vast majority voted against it, and labour had a landslide of 1.7%. What is this "racist" comment about? it's ok to break the law? utter woke nonsense.
  9. I agree that the concept of trying "to explain" is an inbuilt mechanism within us all. Just listen to a loud BANG! Everyone makes assumptions about what it is as our brains scramble for meaning. I think there is no higher power - as such - but there is order in our universe, and I believe karma is part of that order, rightly or wrongly.
  10. I understand the argument, but a world without meaning is a chaotic, unruly, Wild West world. We need norms of behaviour—religions, although I accept most of them are nonsense, keep society safer (mostly). The human constructs of religion are designed to explain the unfathomable power of the universe and are bound to fail—but at least they attempt to.
  11. They should not be allowed in - as you said in a previous post, "it's the law". Try it in Thailand - no visa, you are OUT.
  12. I agree it probably is. I understand the transderivational argument being qualified in the field, but I'm not convinced that's all there is to it.
  13. No - just that the Tories failed to solve it - and Labour will be far WORSE.
  14. Well, I respect that is one perspective, but it does dish all of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, etc. I'm not saying that's incorrect, but it's pretty nihilistic. If you say life has no meaning, why try to love? Why have kids? What's the point? in fact, if you were correct, having kids would,be super selfish.
  15. Hey, what's a Chinese boat got to do with it...?
  16. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't, but it's a paradigm that does explain the seeming unfairness. Otherwise, what's the meaning of life?
  17. Lots would change - otherwise, why be here? If you like girlies (or boys, I guess), then Asia will be better for you. It's cheaper, and there is less rain. Just have to put up with the whinging and know-it-alls on here. I'd hate to be back in farangland with all that wokeness invading every part of existence.
  18. "Let them in." Okay, so what would you do? Keep them at sea? Sink their boats? The problem lies in France, mainly.
  19. Yes, but there have always been levels within nursing: enrolled, registered, nursing specialists, clinical specialists, etc.
  20. England is just not England anymore - open the gates. What's the point? pathetic
  21. Some people are born into wealthy Western families, while others are born in African regions with extreme poverty and no access to basic necessities like rice. Some are born with natural talents, while others struggle academically. It's also the same with dying - some people pass away peacefully in their beds at the age of 90, while others suffer from diseases like cancer and die much younger. It's hardly fair to say that everyone experiences life and death in the same way, is it? If you don't believe in karma, then life might seem pretty pointless. Have a nice day!"
  22. Espana 2 Anglo Saxons + other bits 0
