  1. Highly unlikely you will find an ATM that dispenses USD, outside of perhaps one or two at the airport and the exchange rate costs are likely to be enormous. Ask yourself, how many ATM's in the US dispense Thai Baht or Malaysian Ringit or even British Pounds!

Guess what, countries I have been to in Middle East, Asia and Europe have USD withdrawal option. Not all the banks, but still an option...

  2. I'm looking to withdraw USD with my foreign issued ATM card, does anyone know bank/atm machine that gives other currency than Thai Baht?

Virtually every bank has a currency exchange window where you can get USD

with your atm/credit card. You will just need your passport to verify your identitiy.

Can there be some reason you want to ONLY get the USD from a machine ?

You right about credit/debit cards, but they cant give me money using my visa electron.

  3. Well said, especially the part about "personal trainers" in local GYms, they are waste of time. You need someone private and foreigner for good results.

We need to see what you look like, I mean your current physique. I wouldn't post it on here (thaivisa) but you can PM me.

Dont even think about steroids. You dont have enough training/experience/nutrition knowledge. I takes months/years to learn about how to effectively use AAS, and to differentiate between the propaganda you hear about steroids, and the facts.

IMO - if your in thailand, then just go ahead and lose the thought of a personal trainer. Ive been to a few gyms here, California WOW, Life Fitness, bla bla, and the "trainers" there are failures on an epic level. I could never take advice from someone that does not even train. Your better off reading up on your own. Again, this is my opinion.

Nutrition is 70% of training. Special "training" programs are nothing if you are not eating right. Stop drinking alcohol, soda. 80% of what you can drink will be water. 20% will be a bit of milk, and juice. Drink water until your urine is 100& clear. Then drink more. Eat everything clean. Low salt. Lots of lean chicken.

Everything you will do will be progressive, and you will be sore. Dont have to kill yourself, but if you are not tearing your muscles down, they will not grow bigger. The first 4-6 weeks is the most difficult.

Dont listen to people that are negative. They are usually the people that are fat/hairy/nasty, and think everyone should be that way. Dont train for anyone but yourself. Dont listen to anyone that says "Girls dont like big muscles" too. Even the girls that say that, are full of crap. Goes back to prehistoric days. The "alpha" male gets to breed, and the others get to cry.

There is no 50% with this stuff. Really its all or nothing. Dosent matter if you are trying to lose fat or get bigger.

Train hard for 2-3 years. If you did everything right, you should have a pretty decent transformation. You aint gonna be Arnold, or Jackman.

  4. 3. I saw advertisement for grey import of SLK200 for just 3.5 million, I think good choice.

This car sells for about 50k USD, and 3.5m is about 100K USD.

Can you please explain what a grey dealer or import is, and whether they pay import taxes and the general legality of such?

my understanding was if the car sells for 50k usd, i should expect to pay 150k usd for it in thailand???

I'm not completely sure how they make it, the full price should be 4.2 million if I remember right, but I just saw that advertisement few times in BangkokPost and it comes from some big car import company, so I believe its true.

  5. Few comments on the convertibles:

    1. C70 is nice but well underpowered(I have a friend in Volvo sales, that what she told me)

    2. Mini convertible cost just a bit more than Mx5, but it is European, and seems to me drives/feels better.

    3. I saw advertisement for grey import of SLK200 for just 3.5 million, I think good choice.

    4. Nothing can beat BMW engines and handling, ultimate choice convertible or not, but it is expensive...

  6. Do your shopping in Villa and Tops instead of Tesco/BigC/Carfour and no one will touch your children there(my guess).

Is there really a class-difference between Tops and BigC? I usually go to Tops since BigC is in the other side of the mall and I am lazy... :o

U r not Thai, and you not gonna touch someone's else kids anyway, right?

  7. Do your shopping in Villa and Tops instead of Tesco/BigC/Carfour and no one will touch your children there(my guess).

    Why?

Because those places with imported foods that are expensive, attracts expats and well off Thais, non of those groups will touch your kids.

  8. Hmm, I'm coming form the tailgater point of view, its piss me off when some pop driving his pick up on the right lane 2 times slower than me, I do flash with them from the distance, but most of them as someone earlier pointed out are "on "autopilot". If they are not moving in time I flash them constantly, it does help in most of the cases, in some they just indicate that will stay in that lane and I need to find my way around. I know that 180km/h is not the right speed even in Thailand, but who cares if police here gladly accept our offerings...:-)

  9. Does the Asoke branch always run out of hand towels in the afternoon, or do they simply not have them anymore? I brought it up with the manager since they had run out around 6PM and he motioned towards the reception area saying to contact the HQ. :D Shouldn't it be his job to bring up with HQ any issues that customers have? I told him it was pretty nasty that the place was packed full of sweaty smelly people and not one of them had a towel to wipe down the equipment or themselves. I didn't even get the Thai smile response for that one, just an odd stare before he walked away. It's all about customer service! :o

I didn't expect much since it's been obvious for a while now that they're on their way out, but I'm just wondering if I should buy hand towels to bring with me for as long as the place remains open, or if this just happens every once in a while.

Fitness First Gyms (which are much more expensive than CW) don't supply any towels at all.

I think CW can last another 1 to 2 years before tanking.

You are wrong, Fitness First Platinum supply towels and even tshirt and training every time you going there.
