Did you post this on another forum? If so i answered it there. Nakhon nayok -Kabin buri - Sa Kaeo-Wattana Nakhon,( turn left at the traffic lights)-Pa Kham -Nang Rong- Amphur muang Buriram, or wherever you are staying. This is much more pleasant way to go . More to see and much less traffic
Which is more or less the route we always take from Bang Phli to Phrakhon Chi but I suppose it might depend which part of BKK you're traveling from.
I also agree that this a much more attractive route and after travelling the 24 West to East on Tuesday I will not hurry back. It is in an appalling condition along the Chok Chai to Nang Rong stretch.
The preferred route does have some issues i.e quite a bit of wear on "Soi Minibus" (the 359 road, nicknamed soi minibus because of all the buses going to the casino)
appalling condition along the Chok Chai to Nang Rong stretch? What do you mean exactly?

So what company is flying to Buriram right now? Only Nok air?

I have 320D 2008, with 42K kms on the clock, no problems at all except changing tyres that I damage every time when driving too fast. Thai roads are crap..:-(

Been to Le Saigon at Saturday, good view, but could not sit outside cause the wind was very strong and cold. Very few customers, food is ok, service is good. I think need to get there in better weather or for the sunset...

Thank you all for your suggestions, I just heard about LE SAIGON BAYVIEW RESTAURANT, anyone been there? Sounds like exactly what I was looking for.

Hi guys, I am looking for some classy bar/lounge that have a view over Pattaya/bay. Something relaxing with ambient music and good drinks menu. Should be something around Pratamnak Hill maybe? Thank you in advance for info.

I live at Ratchadamri and when it was impossible to use car or BTS due to red shirts mess, I used motocytaxi few time, first of all they charged more than usual, secondary they have been not from my soi(we have spot on the top of the soi), and finally I saw those guys so many times in the middle of red shirts activities, they are the "soul" of red movement. I don't think they deserve any compensation, we should call and treat them as "Enemy Within".
-
I just heard loud bang close to Ratchadamri BTS, strange as its the heart of red zone and no military is near by...
-
My AIS phone have reception at Ratchadamri now, they probably jammed it only for short time.

Hmm, BangkokAir is 50% cheaper to fly to Phuket than on TG, and that one regarded as "expensive boutique" airline, no comments.
-
I decided to put full tank cause need to drive outside of BKK tomorrow and the first station I tried run out of diesel, the second one was just fine.

I have been to 3 places mentioned and Vertigo is the best imho. The view, the crowd, the service, food etc is better from Sirroco or Red.

Hi all, I got insurance thrown in with the car when I purchased BMW 320D one year ago(40K baht), now its time to renew and they sent me offer of almost 54K baht. I had no accidents or claims from the moment I got the car, so i believe it should be cheaper, not more expensive. Someone here with similar car or class of cars can recommend good option for reasonable price? Thanks in advance.

I am seeing this first hand in the very small city I live in........lots of new, (mom and pop) small food/beverage stands going up, as one example.
Also people (e.g., teachers who make little money) supplementing their normal job with a second job (e.g., small food/beverage stand).
People are most definitely hurting where I live.......nobody is starving........no riots in the streets.......nothing like that, just hurting inside.
Also worrying about the future.
As an aside, I am also seeing more domestic violence than in the past........think many Thai males just are frustrated and getting drunk and taking it out on the family.
Yes they probably are frustrated when the family females become self employed in major cities far from the farm. Those good little females and those terrible males!
I wonder what they do in those far away cities for "self employment"? What part of their "self" do they employ?
good observation...

I'm not concerned about students and what they do in their time, i'm 10 years older than most of them and I will be hardly interact with em except the classes. By inside info I mean teachers, professors etc, programs. All those are really important for me.
-
Thank you for your reply, I heard of Sasin, but its too early for me, bachelor first...:-) Actually i was looking for more "inside" information about places to study, instead of a list of the local unis, that i can gather myself.
Best place in Thailand for business degrees is reportedly Sasin Institute at Chulalongorn University, Bangkok - but it's a graduate institute, so MBAs and up only:http://www.sasin.edu/programs/index.html
Other than this, you could try bachelor business degrees (usually called 'BBAs') on the international programmes of these unis:
Thammasat Business School: http://interaffairs.tu.ac.th/interprogram.htm
MUIC (Mahidol U)
Bangkok U
Siam U
Khon Kaen U
IIS, Ramkhamhaeng U, Bangkok
Google the others.

Sorry to ask you guys question about studying and not teaching, but i think that is the most appropriate section. I'm thinking of getting bachelor degree in international business, what is the best place in Thailand to study? I prefer foreign teachers, the cost is less important. Thank you in advance for your input.

Does anyone knows car wash in Langsuan/Lumpini/Early Sathorn areas? I'm tired to go to Petchaburi or Rama4 for a wash, the traffic there is terrible. Thank in advance for info !
P.S. I know about the one in the underground parking of BigC Ratchadamri(slow, expensive and traffic is the worst)

I am western but i lived in Thailand and had a Thai Husband. He became jealous, possessive and extremely abusive quite quickly. I did nothing to inspire this, i dressed respectfully, didnt get drunk etc etc. When i tried to leave him for discovering his other lovers, he tried to kill me. He was from a rice farming community in north east thailand. His family watched and did nothing. I since discovered he also had a Thai wife, along with two other western girlfriends. And that he tried to kill a previous western girlfriend and was physically abusive with other western girls, usually jealously themed. I heard many similar stories and witnessed at least two black eyes of western women with jealous Thai boyfriends. I must stress i also had some wonderful male Thai friends with western girlfriends that didnt behave in this manor. Personally, i wouldnt date outside my own culture again.
How exactly farang girl become married to the rice farmer in Thailand? I would like to here more to that story...if you don't mind.

I would like to get professional trainer, from my experience Thai's are pretty useless(I'm member of Fitness First). They can be nice to you, but you wont get results, and they dont really have a concrete plan with goals etc. I heard few times about fitcorpasia, on the paper it sounds as something worthy, but I would like to hear personal experiences about their service, pricing and other relevant details. Thanks !
You should try get fit Bkk, they are very professional. Nice web site as well www.getfitbkk.com
Cheers.
Thanks for your reply, what is so professional about them? Do you have first hand experience? From their site I gather they don't have an office cause its mobile phone given, and all but one of their trainers are Thai(not what I'm looking for). Please gimme more information if you have it.

That explains his earlier award..:-) Ice heads are social and very talkative...
-
I got my ticket for the final already..:-) Never saw live tennis before, should be fun !

Aeon for sure I use them regularly when I shop at Big C or Tesco.
150 baht is not much but if you withdraw 5-8 times a month 12 months a year then it adds up those 10K baht I can easily use for something else.
UOB was good...:-( It gave me the maximum amount in ATM withdrawal from all the Thai banks-30K
-
I haven't used an ATM in a month, until today when I went to UOB and discovered that they are now also charging this outrages 150 fee. So my quesiton is;any other banks left who doesn't charge this fee? If not what bank should I use that give the best exchange rate.
Did you see that charge before the withdrawal in the process in the ATM machine, or after in the receipt? Can anyone confirm it?
