They may well have not taken into account the dual pricing here, which means farangs pay a whole heap extra for anything to do with medical care.

Given the morals of some around here, it wouldn't have surprised me to hear that someone had stolen the poor blokes crutches.

I recently got pulled over by the cops for one of their routine collect money stops, and while I had everything, I heard more than one tourist moaning loudly that they were paying out money for the stops that were "everywhere" every single day, and would never be coming back. Fair enough, they didn't have the right documents, but I have never been to a tourist resort that so actively looks to fleece their guests in such a way. Combine this with the murder of the town as it used to be and is it any surprise that the place is a ghost town?

4 Million Euros just for the feasibility study? Some serious money going into some slippery folks pockets there then.

All of the criticism in the above posts is fully justified. I am not even sure why TAT and here the Ministry of Tourism and Sports even bother coming up with such dumb statistics. It's almost as if they believe that if they twist things enough then all of the problems with an obvious lack of tourists will go away. Certainly nobody else believes any of the rubbish they come out with.

Absolutely tragic that this should happen at such a time. Losing any family member is always hard but far more so when it is your child.
Green and yellow capsules sounds like possibly Tramadol, a pain killer notorious for being dangerous, especially if in combination with alchohol.

I wonder if that could be used as evidence that the man is a dick.
Getting arrested twice in one day is truly amazing, even for a Russian.
The question now is do they kick him out or let him go and see if he can make it a hat trick.

This smacks of desperation to somehow try to reverse the trend of falling numbers.
A little work fixing the many problems might be time better spent.
Getting a discount on one or two things isn't going to help a lot if you are being ripped off on most of the rest of your trip.

Tragic and senseless way to go. He was apparently with a friend who could easily have taken the photo, while he made sure of his footing.
Lots of people dying around the world paying more attention to the photo than their lives and not enough to the signs warning them of such danger. RIP.

Looks like you got to lean a fair bit out of your balcony to get that sea glimpse, and from that shot, the balconies don't seem to be much above mid thigh level, a potentially dangerous height, especially for inebriated or unwanted people.

Don't know if it's an useful question or not but where is the sink in the ''kitchen''?
You want two sinks in a 28sqm condo? Can't you see the one in the bathroom, with a bucket underneath for the real crappy and large stuff?
All we are missing is the photo of the balcony really, so we can see whether or not it would be plausible to say your gf, or yourself accidentally leaned over a bit too far on a low railing, and of course for a not overly bright view beyond.
Then again though, what can you expect from an as the Ad says, "cheap" condo? Lots of negatives other than the price, which I have to say has to be considered hopeful at best, given the gallery on offer.

I would say that a significant chunk of Thai motorists have so little idea what they are doing out there, that they should be catching the bus to work, not riding or driving. The only problem with that suggestion of course, is that the bus driver is probably even less qualified to be on the roads than the idiots he would be carrying.

Fella was damned fortunate that no one really took offense. Pattaya has seen more than one person take a serious kicking for such miserable behaviour.

A witness said that the farang was boasting about being the richest man in the province and having parents who are connected to the high levels of the Thai police.
Shame his parents don't use their "influence" to have the fool deported. That would be good payback for him being such a dick.

Of course you can hide here son. Pattaya cops will never think of looking for you all the way up here.
Now you go into the kitchen and make yourself a nice cup of tea, and I will see who that is pounding on the front door.

Pattaya experiencing an entirely new form of Boom Boom then.
And if he started shooting first then he got what he deserved, although those that shot him might be able to claim self defense, I am sure they will still have some explaining to do about why they were also armed.

Well I hope he has had the good sense to continue on that tour well away from here. If he wasn't screwed in the massage shop, he most certainly will be if the cops get their hands on him.

I just wish that for once he could find it within himself to say "Sorry folks, I got that one wrong." It is a perfectly normal thing to do for rational people. Doubling down on lies and mistakes only makes him look even more stupid, if that were possible.

Whole lot of missing information here. Released and bail money returned, meaning no charges were laid, then she is supposedly on the run, but found at the original restaurant, suggesting she wasn't trying that hard to not be found. More likely she knew nothing about the prosecutors change of decision and it just took the cops two years to bother going to look for her.

So a Canadian monk has a bit of nookie, thousands of Thai monks do the same, and nothing is said or done about it.
Indeed. Many of them have been caught doing far worse, drugs, alchohol, fiddling with young novices, so this guy is only a relatively minor offender in the big picture.

This is all very well, assuming of course that the taxi drivers will actually turn on the meter rather than continue to charge whatever they feel like.

If this is the best idea a "leading strategist" can come up with, it is little wonder the mortality rate nationwide remains so high. He clearly doesn't have the first clue about reality either.
