Even companies like Big C make them get a guarantor. My son works for them and had to get an ex-teacher sign a contract. Previously worked for a fairly large local building supply and same thing a letter.

In todays BKK Post there's and article in the IT section [help desk]. Looks similar to your problem. A couple links given to fix the virus.

The Toyota will hold it's resale value more than the Nissan. The Toyota also claims better gas mileage.

There's a large chain called Index. Good prices on a wide assortment. Don't compare prices of anything to back home, you're not home and you either need it or you don't. Most things here are cheaper than back home.

How cheap and where would narrow the search? In the 600bht range try Sukumvit Soi 1. The First Street Lodge is newly renovated and across the street Golden Palace has some newly done rooms as well. Short walk to Nana Plaza and sky train.

Save a trip to Penang and get your non-immigrant "O" visa with multiple entries from your country. I imagine you're supporting her now and most consulates will issue a visa on that basis.

In laos you'll probably get a double entry non-imm. visa which should give you enough time to get to BKK. to apply for a 1yr. visa based on marriage. Take your marr. cert. and wife with you if possible. She should slso have her house reg. book with her. Have friends that have gone without wives and no ptoblem.

You will be eligible for a driving lic. when you have a non-imm. visa. Read the dr. lic. thread for other things needed. Why not apply in Can. for your non-imm. visa. Consulates in Can. are easy to get them from. Tell them, preferably show them you have been supporting her and you intend to be married. Will save a trip to Penang.

Apartment in KK would be about 3-4 incl. util. so figure 10,000 from you and her working should pay for extras like kindergarten, clothes, etc.

It sounds like a fair price. Make sure it has a proper deed{chanot]. Will likely not increase that much unless roads and other services are added. 3 rai will make a nice building site for you when you are ready to live here.

Froggy, try applying for non-immigrant O before coming. It might save you a trip to Penang. Tell them you are supprting her, show documents if possible.

Local village tradesmen work this way. It allows you to pick what quality and style of product you wish to use. They generally will charge more if you add or change from the Thai basic way. In larger centres you will find labour and materials included.

Back to the subject, try the local pub. Lady Janes Pub is located down the road from Pailyn Hotel just before river on right hand side. You can borrow books for free, have a couple beers and pick your books. Quite a good selection.

Visa is good for one entry up to 60 days. When you return from Camb. get a visa on arrival good for 30 days.

Don't know what you like to watch on tv but take a good look at what is available in Eng. Not a fan of UBC but it is the only thing that resembles cable back home. It's expensive compared to buying dish but something to watch. Most of us sold our dishes when UBC started years back, sold mine for 2,000bht another buddy got a bag of charcoal for his.

There are a couple magazines that publish new and used prices. The mag is in thai but the models and prices all in eng. Easy to compare sugg. prices by looking at a few of the ads.

Back when there used to be visa run companies, they did this until some holders were caught with no stamps from another country. The fine would likely be more than 250. If you're only thinking of the 250, it's time to get out. Immigration officers may seem to be looking at nothing but do actually look for the entry and exit stamps.
