  1. Yes I had one about 15 years ago. I was living in London and we'd been told that my gran was on deaths door. That night I was sleeping and I woke because of a light shining in my room. I sat up in bed and stared at this light that was shining on to the wall opposite my bed. Sometimes the neighbours light would shine in through the blinds but I looked out and there was no light on outside. I couldn't work out where it was coming from but just sat there staring at it for what felt like ages. I looked at my clock (5am) and went back to sleep. Around 8 or 9am my dad calls me to tell me my nan had died. I instantly thought about the light and asked him what time she passed thinking surely not... but yes, it was the exact same time... 5am. I waited years before I told my mum about it for fear of upsetting her. God Bless herxx

  2. I'm sure when indian food first arrived in the UK the Brits reaction to it was very much the same as Thai attitudes now to Indian food. I didn't try my first indian dish until I was in my 20's, had always avoided it. I still remember being dragged to an indian restaurant by my uni pals, after that I was a regular!

As people are pointing out... as soon as the Thai's actually try it, they usually agree that it is delicious. Demand from Thais is slowly increasing, I think its a matter of time before there is a huge explosion of Indian food here in Thailand.

  3. You would not believe how easy it is to make your own very tastey chicken masala! Fry onions, add garlic n chili, add spices (cumin, corriander, tumeric, paprika), fry chicken in spices until browned... add tinned chopped tomatos, add garam masala,  add cup of cooking cream... sprinkle with corriander...done! Bon appetit! Very easy... 30 minutes tops. For proper masala chiecken you should marinade the chicken and grill it first but too much hassle if you ask me.

  4. yes i have had many times! I also buy naans from makro and they are damn good. Put together and you got yourself and half decent ruby. I also think Thai's are warming up to Indian food as they realize that it is actually really good. But they still won't touch the lamb curries!

  5. Do we know if the car driver was drunk? He said he's been celebrating a birthday so I would be very surprised if he hadn't been drinking. Then overtakes on a bend and kills someone. Most probable outcome for this driver "Accidents happen - now let that be a lesson to you and on your way". Drunk or not drunk - Until Thailand starts to punish this kind of behaviour it will happen again and again and again. It really sickens me that this s#it is allowed to go on unpunished.

Very sad for the guy and his family. RIP.

  6. Okay so I am considering to set up a fully functioning ecommerce website aimed at the Thai consumer / expats living in Thailand. I have a niche in mind. So what factors should I consider (specifically for Thailand and the Thai consumer) before moving forward with this...?

One thing that occurred to me was that Thai's seem to be more comfortable with ordering items, and then either paying at 7/11 or paying on delivery, as opposed to the traditional ecommerce way of paying by debit/credit card on purchase. To me this seems counterproductive but is it something I should consider offering? Any feedback, ideas or suggestions will be greatly received. TIA

  7. Hi OP. I concur with the advice given - book yourself to see a specialist in a private hospital (you don't need to get a referral here). The second thing (not so easy) is to try not to worry about it as it causes more stress. I had a similar experience a few years back. My heart rate was all over the place and almost certainly caused by stress. Was prescribed some pills that slowed down the pace of my hearbeat and after a few months I stopped taking the pills and was back to normal again. It all coincided with my financial situation being pretty bad and then improving so almost certainly stress caused my problem. Best of Luck!

  8. A friend of my wife almost got taken in by one of these scams - I have to admit that there was some convincing stuff in the exchange of messages that even had me thinking the guy could be legit (these messages were deeply personal and emotional).... right up until the inevitable bs story "help...I was beaten up and had all my cards stolen and cannot get any funds to pay for my hospital treatment whilst in Malaysia finalizing a multi million dollar oil project".

  9. It still has not hit home to these idiots that the only way out of this mess is to vaccinate and to vaccinate now en masse. Instead we keep reading about these silly little schemes!!! Thailand has truly been let down by these buffoons... they gave themselves a really good opportunity to solve this crisis by the way they handled the first wave, but instead of building on it, they sat on their <deleted> patting themselves on the back and did pretty much nothing. We kept reading about x amount of vaccines being secured over the many months but none of it materialized... now they are opting for the vaccine that pretty much no other country wants... the chinese one. Sad sad sad.
