  1. I just want someone to ask one direct question and to hear a direct answer to this "Why did you not join the COVAX scheme in the first place"? The Thai public needs to know the answer to this... we all need to know... what possible reason could they have formulated for refusing free vaccines when all the neighbouring countries around them were joining and when Thailand's procurement scheme was so flawed. For me, above everything - this needs to be answered.

Clearly Steven you have been fortunate with your choice of Thai woman, self defense stab once, multipull times murder.

I made a stupid mistake tackling my ex in the kitchen as to why she had used the car book to borrow quarter of a million baht.

She was at the sink, when asked why, she wheeled round stuck me in my left side, i shoved her over on her backside because she was coming at me again.

This woman stabbed her boyfriend several times, that my friend is not self defense.

I think you have misinterpreted Steven's post... he was being sarcastic.

There has to be some reason why the Thai government is showing such a deliberate bias towards Sinovac.  They have set up road blocks and delays for all the other alternative vaccines and made procurement of the alternative vaccines by private hospitals nearly impossible.

...and lest not we forget the Thai govt's inexplicable decision to NOT join the COVAX scheme and receive FREE vaccines!!!!

This is a big issue. I have an international flight booked for Tuesday, i am travelling from Udon. Cannot travel before Monday and already have had 2 domestic flights cancelled. My last flying option will likely be cancelled today. That leaves State railways and coaches, but couldn't find anything definitive online - just that bus services will be reduced to one a day (which service? what time? what bus station?).

Also an issue is that if i travel to Bangkok and my international flight is cancelled, i face a 2 week quarantine if i return to Udon Thani. I am old enough that Covid-19 exposure is an issue.

Today will be visits to many locations to find out what is happening.

As a last resort could you enquire with some car rental companies about hiring a car in Udon and dropping off at Suv. airport...? A long drive I know but at least you can get there!!!

When I Sold my last Home I contacted a number of Real Estate Agents and overall there were lots of Agents obviously a number of them were Advertising the same Properties, the average charge in Commission was6-7%.

Wasnt to happy with the ones who came to my Home and I was talking to a friend about it,he told me he would develope a website for me and put it online which he did and he charged me 5,000baht.

It had only been online for 2 days and had my first enquiry,in the next 2-3 weeks I had a number of positive enquiries, when I eventually Sold it I had 4 couples all trying to buy it so my 5,000baht Investment worked well for me.

    what was the website address?

  6. These and the similar looking delivery vans all drive like lunatics. I'm wondering if they have tight schedules to keep to because I often see them bobbing and weaving through traffice at dangerously fast speeds. Recently I saw one weaving between lanes going so fast that the van quite literally went on 2 wheels dukes of hazard style (was very close to fliipping). Didn't seem to bother them as they continued on their merry way in much the same manner!

  7. I have always been advised by Nonthaburi Immigration that the bank letter can be dated the day before but the bank book HAS to be updated same day as your appointment. Just done my yesterday and all went smoothly (which was a pleasant surprise as usually they always find an issue or a reason to send me away).

I would say on this ocaassion you have been unlucky and caught the big boss on a bad day (maybe she had the painters in????). Personally I would have asked to see her and tried to appeal to her better nature by explaining that getting the letter dated on the same day is very difficult as most banks don't open til 10/11am and then need 1 or 2 hours to produce it. But probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere so maybe you were right just to accept it and get on with it.

Selling any used house is no quick and easy proposition in Thailand.

Now with Covid running rampid, even less than a chance.

Economy has been in the tank for a year+ and getting worse.

Might want to wait or she may waste a trip for no reason.

i read an article just a week or two ago that reckoned demand for low builds (houses) was high and that prices had gone up 8% over last two years - and this was partly to do with covid causing buyers to want to purchase a place with land and space (I guess to feel safer in this covid era). Not sure of the source or of the accuracy but kinda made sense.

If he can buy his way out of cold bloodedly shooting someone in the street while drunk captured for all to see on CCTV  then you know Thailands justice system is broken.

Compensation to the family should not buy him out of a long jail term.

well it definitely looks like they are going to give it a good go. This story triggered a memory of the Thai policeman that murdered 2 Brit packpackers in Kanchanaburi (also whilst drunk I believe). he did get 2 life sentences which the judge then 'corrected' to one life sentence... would be very interested to know how much time he actually did serve... if anyone knows...?
