And that takes months.
I already posted Bkk Saigon 1090baht. Along with rent a ticket 12 USD.
Would you waste time for airport tax refund. Up to you.
Waste time? Chat with Ava, 2 minutes tops. Or do you mean the time waiting for the refund? I don't know about you, but I can live with being 700 baht out of pocket for a while. Beats booking a "fully refundable" full price ticket.
Personally, I find "rent a ticket" questionable. I'm not sure if it's outright illegal or if anyone ever actually got into trouble, but it isn't for me.

"Sanook reported that Jaimuay fully recovered after spending nine days under the care of a large team of specially chosen doctors and nurses at Nakhon Pathom hospital, a city around 50 kilometers west of Bangkok."
That's all very well while the number of concurrent patients is still low. If (or, when) it goes beyond what the country's hospitals can handle, you simply won't have a large team of specialists for each patient anymore. Needless to say, that could make all the difference. That's ONE of the things one SHOULD worry about.

AirAsia works great. If you ultimately don't use the ticket, you can easily request an airport tax refund, so if you book let's say a promotional ticket from Bangkok to Da Nang for 1400 baht, you'll get about 700 baht back and lose about as much.

It is quite reasonable to assume the child would be better off in Thailand than Somalia.
I don't doubt that. I do doubt, however, that a Thai consul or immigration officer would be sympathetic to that kind of argument - maybe one in a million.

What citizenship are you hoping to get for your child?
Obviously you are not Thai and you state your wife is non Thai also.
Good point. I was wondering the same - the OP didn't write what the child's connection to Thailand is and neither parent seems to be Thai. For that reason, I don't see how a child angle could be plaid at a consulate; not sure what @BritTim has in mind?

A friend of mine just cancelled his upcoming holiday. Seriously, who wants that kind of stuff during what's meant to be a time to relax and unwind.

"I have thousands of Chinese clients who I talk to on a daily basis."
That's a lot of talking.
Back on topic though, you do have a point. There's a very visible disconnect between the Thai government and regular, worried Thais. So Chinese still get in, but are apparently made feel unwelcome in quite some cases. That's not a good situation for anyone involved, and social media will make sure that the most extreme stories will have the biggest audience.
-
How can anyone be that dumb, reckless and shortsighted? In the big scheme of things, the real problem aren't those Chinese who stay away now (they could still come another time), but those who do come and carry the virus.

Horse. Bolted. Barn.
Either Thailand will be very lucky, which I hope, or not.
That they've failed to confirm any new cases for days doesn't bode well. What's wrong with their labs, everyone on holiday?

Get well soon, Rush! I do want you to retire though, the world will be a better place without you spouting nonsense and spreading hatred.

I wonder what's worse in this particular case, being murdered or being reborn with his karma.

Confidence? He has evaded capture for many years! Even Big Joke's big crackdown. Looks more like they finally got lucky this time.

Question: how many TV members would call in if they knew someone on overstay?
If it’s not a black and white issue, what would your criteria for calling in be?
I wouldn't report an overstayer as such. If they do something beyond merely overstaying that I'd feel the need to report (such as, poisoning dogs or molesting children), I would consider reporting them for overstay, as - sadly - that seems to promise the quickest results with the otherwise mostly useless plod.

Whenever there's an international health crisis, you can rest assured that some Thai quacks will come out, boasting that they've found a cure.
I recall, at the very least, Thai rabies and dengue cures. I'm just wondering why I don't recall any Thai Nobel Prize laureates, in medicine or in fact in general.

Thanks, Prayuth for a job well done! Keep up the good work. Your devotion and concern for the well-being of the people is nothing short of awe inspiring. ????
Quite right, nothing short of breathtaking!

"Not to mention all the farang being filmed with their P4P girls"
If that's a concern, use one of the apps to order your P4P girl straight to your room. In a public place, you could also be spotted by your father in law who's also secretly holidaying in Thailand. ????

Now, if only they could fix the air pollution after they've fixed the overcrowding.

Pretty nonsensical considering that many Thais never officially "move house" when they move. Most of my Thai friends in Bangkok aren't registered in Bangkok, which explains the low number of Bangkok residents (to the point that it makes that figure meaningless).
They also seem to have forgotten a few million migrant workers. I wonder which foreigners they count, only permanent residents? Surely there are a lot more foreigners than what they state in Thailand on all kinds of "non-resident" visas and extensions.
-
I don't get why this is even news. 260 jobs combined? That's next to nothing - I could plaster a single street with 7/11s and employ more people than this!

Personally, in principle I don't think it's wrong that Thai authorities remove foreigners who have committed a crime while in Thailand. I wished my home country was more strict in that regard, so it would be disingenuous if I held Thailand to a different standard.
With that said, however, I think the procedure described here as well as in the MJ case from Phuket in another current thread is an atrocity, plain and simple.
If bail has been granted pending trial and no prison term is imposed upon sentencing, surely they could come up with a less painful way to expel such a foreign petty offender once convicted that doesn't include a stay at the IDC. That someone who isn't sentenced to actual jail time is incarcerated for days or even weeks just to remove them from the country is, in my opinion, indefensible. Assuming that they can pay for their ticket out, escorting them straight to the airport would be a more appropriate way to handle this.

As far as I know, nothing you can print yourself (including statements requested via their K-Plus app) includes your address. I think your only option is requesting a statement at a branch, and even then, it's probably a good idea to tell them that you need your address on it.

I think you did well! If I'm not mistaken, the way the law is written, it's illegal - in Thailand - to have the drug in your system. So I don't think that a Thai judge would acquit you even if you could convince them that you didn't "do drugs" in Thailand.
