Oh that's most generous. Get 14 extra days to quarantine, and 1 extra day for your holidays. Such a great deal, Thai airports well be SWAMPED with eager arrivals in no time!

As long as quarantine remains as it is, the "convenience" of the visa application process hardly matters - you either have the time and the money to be able to afford 14 days in quarantine or you don't. And even most of those who do might still not consider it worth the trouble!

I hope they'll send the bill to those irresponsible creatures who see it fit to cross the border illegally despite having symptoms AND then have the audacity to use public transport and to hang out instead of self isolating at the very least.

I think it's not unreasonable to require health/travel insurance coverage from all foreign visitors.
Allowing people to self-insure is risky, as only few foreign visitors would be able to cover the cost of a major unforeseen medical emergency, if it came to that. It's not just a question of having the money, but also of being able to access it from abroad (and, worst case scenario, comatose). I don't see why Thailand or any other country would want that risk. The EU's Schengen countries have been asking for medical coverage since a long time.

I don't need any help from anyone back home now, but it took some arrangements and adjustments when I moved to Thailand and I did need some help with things I hadn't thought of initially.

Up to him.
You won't change his mind, so don't waste your time!

The pathetic loser is now putting Georgia's Senate seats in jeopardy, as he's giving the incumbent Republican senators a tough choice.
While I'm quite pleased with this, that he continues to claim that the U.S. is basically a Banana Republic where voter fraud is rampant really annoys the heck out of me. I consider it a form of treason.

Tell him, by all means. This potentially has a huge impact on his life and decision making.

I thought transiting wasn't allowed and only passengers who have a Certificate of Entry get to board planes to Thailand. Best to check if this has changed in the meantime.

That has been changed. No holiday on the 7th now and then the 10th and 11th.
The Bank of Thailand has not cancelled the 7th as a bank holiday, but they did add the 11th. Presumably because they didn't announce an extra bank holiday for last month's long weekend.
So I wouldn't expect any money to arrive from abroad next week on 7th, 10th or 11th.

As a customer, I actually wouldn't mind a bit of competition...

I have no fear of death, but I do fear dying in a painful or otherwise horrible way. Or in other words, I fear the process, not the result.

The recipient doesn't get to see the sender's name. But I suspect they could ask their bank which account the money has been sent from, and knowing the account number they would be able to get to know the name of the account owner.
If you want to deposit money into someone's Thai bank account anonymously from within Thailand, for whatever reason, then use a cash deposit machine of their bank.

Surely Trump would never pardon anyone for money, considering that he's the greatest president of all times. 555

This looks unnecessarily convoluted to me, as all those who need to get tested still need to mail a sample to a lab. They could just as well visit the Red Cross HIV clinic and have their result much quicker.
For those who don't want to go to a clinic: Why don't they roll out home test kits that don't require sending in a sample, like with pregnancy tests? They do exist in other countries.

Oh look, yet another travel bubble postponement.

Now that Trump is out of the picture, the EU can pretty much ask for whatever they want. In a month or two even Boris might realize how much his position has been weakened, luckily he has plenty of time.

I'm not interested in him or any other "YouTuber", but if it works out for him and his fans ("followers"), good for him...

Hope springs eternal. They'd basically need to give BOI privileges such as 100% foreign ownership to ALL foreign owned businesses and get rid of the BOI bureaucracy to achieve the "ease" goal. Fat chance of that happening!

I've made the TM30 registration process part of my move-in procedures. A landlord who fails to sign the form and provide me with the requisite copies when the contract is being signed neither gets my signature nor my deposit. Their choice. So far, no issues, but I've read too many reports such as this one over the years.

Ah, yet another ranking. For what it's worth, I've been happy in Thailand.
After Dec 30, 2nd Covid visa extension and multiple Volunteer Visa,
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

I guess the issue is that it needs to be filed where your registered address is. Which is probably in Nakhon Nowhere, wherever your volunteer visa/extension was done. Or did you formally move to Bangkok afterwards?
