Thai immigration officers, by all appearances, are barely literate when it comes to reading English. To expect them to be able to read (and verify as valid) electronic bank statements issued by foreign banks is asking a lot.
Also, as mentioned, there's probably no merit in being able to show ATM withdrawals from foreign bank accounts anyway.

So that's 250 vs 244 votes if you leave out the appointed sycophants. Without the vote rigging in favor of those obscure micro parties and the entirely undemocratic Senate, it's easy to see what the voters' actual mandate was.

Works for me, it should bring down the number of Brits in Thailand considerably.

OP, maybe you should have gone there sooner, you might just have reconsidered marrying someone who enjoys to score points at your expense. Or maybe you are being too serious about it, I honestly cannot tell.
I think visiting a Thai village is a great way to learn more about your Thai friends and love interests. So, unlike many others on here, I recommend going there. The earlier into a relationship, the better.

I'm surprised that she isn't French.

He sure would win any smugness contest you could possibly throw him into. Unfortunately, his smugness is only outshined by his ineptitude.

OP, you have my sympathy, their inefficient procedures really are a bad joke - Thailand 0.4 at best!

His best move ever since I've known him. As for the other "Democrats", may they go down with the sinking ship!

Once the NCPO ceases to exist, and with it General P's special powers, it's hard to see how he can get anything done at all - for even with all that power, after all, his list of accomplishments over 5 long years is laughable.
Hopefully his new government will attract the scrutiny it deserves, both in parliament and in the streets.

Enjoy your time in office, "Democrats", in all likelihood it's the last time you have any relevance at all.

All the trickery to do long stays under false pretenses only add to the problem, no wonder immigration is tightening the rules.
I'm not sure where you see false pretenses in the OP's plans. Maybe he just has the time and the money, he wouldn't be the first!

Wasn't funny first time around ..
I think it was funny and it certainly got plenty of attention (Donald's included). That said, I don't really see any value in flying the same old blimp again, they should have come up with something new this time around.

Keeping someone who's 69 years old locked up for a crime they committed when they were 19 is insane any way you look at it. Either don't pussy around when it comes to the death penalty, or release prisoners after they've served two or three decades max. All other aspects aside, how much has this travesty been costing thus far? Incarceration, appeals, parole board hearings, etc. etc. Insane amounts for sure.

What's missing in that puff piece is the "Sponsored by McThai" disclaimer.

Whenever I'm on the move and strangers approach me, I might react with a nod or a polite "no thanks" or whatever else seems appropriate, but in any case I keep moving. No matter if that stranger happens to be a beggar, a salesperson or a monk.

As per forum policy, I'm sure that this rumor is 100% fake news and the Good General has had no such intentions. Ever.
That said, his intention to stage a coup was denied right until it finally happened. So whatever might happen, I won't be surprised.

Not having read the Thai translation, I cannot tell if he's insane or if the translation completely distorts the original. Probably a combination of both.

Not my experience at all. Regular Thai people in the street don't look at me any differently than let's say 10 years ago. That the officialdom has a less friendly attitude nowadays, on the other hand, cannot be denied.

Seems over the top harsh to me, a single short overstay really isn't such a significant infraction. I guess the "good news" is that they only consider overstays during the last 3 years, so at least you can sit it out.

In case you travel around in Thailand, it might be worth to consider using another immigration office for your extension. Many are much more relaxed than Chaeng Watthana.
You need an address (hotel) within the area served by the immigration office you choose and it's best to check about their specific rules. I've used quite a few different immigration offices over the years and I've often been in and out within less than half an hour.

Bizarre report. Either it wasn't nearly as bad as described, or you should have gotten out as soon as you saw the driver guzzling alcohol and having the first near miss.

In this context, it's Prachuap Khiri Khan, a province in Thailand. That's why people asked if the OP studies in Hua Hin.
Correcting half-fake news: immigration
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Typo
Isn't the reason for "half-fake news" to spread, in many cases, glaring inconsistencies between different immigration offices (or even between different desks/officials at one and the same office)?
What's "fake news" at Chaeng Watthana isn't necessarily "fake news" in Buriram. What's "fake news" for retirement extensions in Jomtien isn't necessarily "fake news" for marriage extensions at the very same office.
Oh, and what's "fake news" today might well come true tomorrow...
