  1. No idea what you are trying to accomplish here tbh. Warn people not to fall for this kind of dumb scam? Vent about the dumb kid who did fall for it? Anything else?
  2. I don't know. You post all this inane drivel, so it's quite possible that Thai men think you're batsh1t crazy.
  3. If you believe that this could be legit, you'll believe anything.
  4. Those muppets still exist?
  5. Probably just yet another Thai police officer having a sideline online gambling business, nothing to see here.
  6. Yeah it's been a wild ride for him. First the assassination attempt, which made him think as a heroic survivor the election will be nothing but a formality. It all went downhill from there. Ultimately he was too successful with making people believe that Joe Biden is unfit for office. I'm sure he regrets that now and wants him back!
  7. That's droll. She's that much under her father's influence that she probably confuses her own thoughts with her father's.
  8. Oh nice, we haven't had one of these "when will Bangkok be under water" guesstimates for quite a while.
  9. It's a very busy border, so if there had been any change, you would have heard about it already.
  10. To be clear, nobody forces you to stay in Laos. Thai immigration at this particular checkpoint just doesn't let you back into Thailand right away. You are free to head to the airport in Vientiane or Luang Phabang instead to fly wherever you'd like without delay. You're also free to travel to Cambodia or Vietnam overland. Heck, you could probably even just travel to another land border with Thailand and get admitted there.
  11. Guys like him should never have been allowed to leave their home country without their mommy. This is a ridiculous story from start to finish. What's next, he'll offer a wai and an undisclosed amount of baht to apologize to the police and all will be forgiven. Just a misunderstanding.
  12. Congrats, Sir.
  13. The rules say that you have to apply in person unless the immigration officer waives that requirement. Under normal circumstances, they might do that if you're in hospital and a representative of the hospital goes to immigration to apply on your behalf. Or someone could entice them, such as an agent.
  14. The old goats are at each others' throats. Fascinating.
  15. That's a good point. By inviting those nationalities in large numbers, they definitely make holidaying in Thailand a less enjoyable experience for others.
  16. Visas aren't transferred to new passports, you'll have to carry both and show the visa in your old passport. If you contact the embassy, they would probably suggest that you apply for a new visa, I don't think there's anything else they can do. But it wouldn't hurt asking them.
  17. Finally all foreigners are equal... ... -ly worthless / cattle.
  18. I'd be more worried about Indian quality tourists overstaying and working illegally. The cleanliness of Thailand must be a real eye opener to any Indian traveling abroad for the first time.
  19. I can't judge the qualifications of Thai judges, but I can certainly judge their ethics.
  20. The DTV doesn't expire when you extend your stay at immigration. You just cannot extend the same entry more than once, which means you'll have to leave Thailand when your once-extended time is up. But you can reenter using the same visa, as long as it's within its five years validity period. Not sure about the cost of an extension. Initially, that 10,000 baht fee was indeed communicated, but more recently, it looks as if the standard fee for any extension (1,900 baht) will be charged. We might need to wait for the first actual reports to know for sure.
  21. You shouldn't have a problem entering visa exempt overland a 3rd time. Extensions remain the same, yes.
  22. Only if your wife is Thai or in a wheelchair that you push though!
  23. That's the problem in a nutshell. The APEC card is for visiting Thailand as a business traveler, not for living in Thailand. There's no guarantee that IOs you'll encounter in the future won't eventually deny you entry. While you do have a legitimate reason to visit Thailand frequently for business, anything beyond that is stretching things.
  24. Interesting view. When I see Donald Trump, I see many things, but certainly nothing that's improved. If anything, he seems more unhinged and mentally unstable than before. Could be an understandable effect of the assassination attempt though, a form of trauma.
