  1. Do you even know the meaning of "President elect"? Do you mean presidential candidate instead?
  2. I think at this point, whatever this clown does or plans to do won't have any tangible impact. Trump is toast, with or without Kennedy's help.
  3. I hope they're being sarcastic, but I've got the feeling they actually mean it.
  4. If he wins, of course. I guess he knows that won't happen.
  5. Probing his ethics is an exercise in futility. It should have been clear for a long time that The Watchman has got none.
  6. Not quite - the extension is for an extra 30 days, like before.
  7. Well Donald you can't have it both ways. You said time and again that "Sleepy Joe" is unfit for office. Now that the Democrats have finally come to the same conclusion, you can hardly complain that they've done what they did. Serves you well.
  8. Ultimately it won't make a big difference if you max out your METVs back to back, sooner or later an IO might still determine that it's been too much. If your goal is to spend most of the time in Thailand, why not get a DTV? It's valid for 5 years and costs only twice the fee for an METV. Excellent value.
  9. If she was a true friend of mine (not just an acquaintance) and her husband just died, I'd do the kind thing in this time of grief and lend her the money - with no real expectation of getting it back. What the husband did for a living wouldn't influence my decision, not least because he's no longer among us.
  10. I'd count her uncle Somchai and a few of their house servants they fielded as proxies as well, so it's quite a few more than three at this point. What they all had in common, of course, was that their time in office was (cut) short.
  11. I've never heard of any special fees at the Lao border except for possibly "overtime" fees that don't amount too much or unfavorable exchange rates if you pay for the Lao visa in baht. Certainly not for turning around right away. Chong Mek has always been a friendly little border crossing, and I've seen nothing to suggest that this has changed recently.
  12. Maybe in the last century or somewhere out in the sticks. If you visit any office building in Bangkok's CBD at lunch time, on the other hand, you'll see all kinds of Westerners working in all kinds of jobs for all kinds of companies. Obviously many other foreigners, too, but since you were talking about Westerners specifically. I'd say your view is more than a little bit outdated.
  13. Maybe there was some reason to suspect that he wasn't in the country where he was supposed to be at the time of application.
  14. European FinTechs I've used (CurrencyFair, Revolut and WISE) all seem to have this in common with DeeMoney. At some point, they've run into problems with some of their international partners, and ultimately they have had to switch. That's why I wouldn't dismiss DeeMoney's explanation out of hand. I've been using them for years, but only for transfers to Cambodia, where they have a strong relationship with their local partner. Those transfers always arrive on the same day without fail. I don't think they wouldn't like to provide the same quality of service for transfers to other destinations.
  15. He didn't strike me as a sportsman, more as a watchman.
  16. She will beat the old demagogue, who will then have time to go to prison.
  17. Oh dear, yet another climate change scare.
  18. Right on the border.
  19. That sucks for the condo owner, hopefully he can get his money back.
  20. It has been clear from the start that destroying those pipelines wasn't in Russia's interest.
  21. I understand the need to reduce the number of homeless people, but that's a bit extreme.
  22. They shouldn't be allowed to charge interest rates as sky high as they do. They shouldn't be allowed to extend insane amounts of credit to people whose salary barely covers their monthly living expenses. Those two issues are obviously connected. The more people default on their credit card loans, the higher the interest rates need to be to make up for those losses.
