  1. Not right now. You get 60 days upon entering either visa exempt or with a tourist eVisa. In both cases, you have the option to extend by another 30 days at an immigration office within Thailand. I agree with those who say that getting a single-entry tourist visa is a waste of money.
  2. Changes? Which ones of those 36 countries are new actually? They include the ASEAN countries and many countries Thailand has had bilateral agreements on visa exempt entry on for a long time.
  3. Yeah based on track record, that seems like the most likely outcome.
  4. The real question is if you qualify for a business visa AT ALL. Only once this has been established can anyone give you advice on HOW to get it and what's required.
  5. It would be an amazing act of stupidity if they manage to lose the Moto GP without actually securing F1 first. Personally, I think they should aim to host BOTH.
  6. Most Thais still seem to be waiting for any of that to trickle down to them. And they may very well keep waiting...
  7. That would be a waste of money. The same people who are now bribing Thai border patrol forces to be allowed to cross the border will just keep doing the same.
  8. That will ensure that the many illegal casinos that Thailand currently has won't go out of bussiness. They're probably making too much money for some important people to let go of them.
  9. Why would they mind when you booked your flights? It's not even THAT early - I know people who book their long-haul flights almost a year in advance.
  10. What business or job would your business visa be based on? The exact requirements will obviously depend on that. Do you plan to work for a Thai company?
  11. To clarify, what I meant is that having (or not having) an exit stamp is irrelevant with regards to the question if you need to submit a new TM30 notification (what this thread is about). That's because exiting Thailand doesn't trigger any TM30 notification requirement. Re-entering, on the other hand, might - depending on your immigration office and visa status.
  12. Well as a visa run destination it's pretty much toast now, thanks to new rules and the eVisa roll-out. I can only imagine that this hasn't helped with the number of tourists they are getting...
  13. You said that you used an agent for assistance and that it went smoothly. So maybe the increasing need to line their pockets is an even bigger driving force. Immigration has quite a track record of failing to scrutinize bad actors as long as they pay up.
  14. I'm not sure why you think having (or not having) an exit stamp is relevant - it isn't. You will get an entry stamp when you re-enter in any case. Are you returning using a re-entry permit, or a new visa?
  15. That's his problem, not Thailand's. He will be stuck for as long as it takes him. He can avail himself of his embassy for consular assistance, whatever that will entail.
  16. He will be banned for 10 years. He will go into immigration detention pending his deportation.
  17. When Big Joke was immigration chief, he famously (foolishly) claimed that he will arrest ALL overstayers within six months. And yet, they are still finding overstayers who have been here before, during and after Big Joke's crackdown. A certain amount of schadenfreude considering his own fate is in order, I think.
  18. That is a magnificent feat. Wow. Take note, Big Joke fanboys, he wasn't as effective at policing as he claimed.
  19. She looks a lot better than the sad bag at her side.
  20. Just another example of a poorly trained check-in clerk. There's no requirement to have a flight out from the same airport. The airline doesn't require a ticket out so that the passenger could fly out with that very ticket if denied entry. The airline does this to avoid being fined by the Thai authorities for failing to check that the passenger meets the entry requirements. There's simply no basis for this silly request to have a ticket out from the same airport, and your friend should have asked to speak to the supervisor.
  21. It's more likely that they would just show up unannounced and question some of your neighbors. It goes without saying that it's in your best interest that they can contact you (give them a number you actually answer).
  22. That apology would have been a significant gesture alright - some 20 years ago!
