not sure about Viet Nam, or Singapore, but the Philippines teach classes, from 1st grade, only in English

Big differences in language.. as Thai is tonal. But what you also forget.. Thais are "taught" English at school, due to it being a tourist orientated economy, 20% GDP, and English being an international language... Thai is NOT.
