  1. We have five cats and young 10 months old Alsatian dog Jack. Now the dog decided that he hates one of the cats - the oldest one. The poor cat now lives in the roof space and does not come down. I have tried many things to make them friends, but nothing works. I believe that Jack would kill her if he had a chance. She is a lovely cat, very friendly, not aggressive at all. Any suggestion what to do about the situation?

  2. I don’t believe what I am reading. Are you mad? Hang the girl; let her spend 15 years in prison???? What? It was not a premeditated murder, was it? I am sure that she did not ram the van on purpose.

It was an accident. You don’t even know the full details. Maybe the driver of the van was partially to blame. OK, it was illegal to drive without a license, but that is not the point. My friend had his license for 20 years and still managed to crash on the motorway in UK. Four people died there. Partly his fault, partly the other driver. He is not in jail, but has to live with that for a rest of his life. Wake up, when you were 16 years old and somebody let you drive, you would have a go. It does not really matter who are the parents or who she is.

  3. Our "problem" is solved. We went to a few breeders but non of them was looking reliable so we decide to look for an another dog. Today we get an Thai ban kaew puppy from an reliable breeder and a good nest. Everybody happy here!! Thanks for the responses :clap2:

    Regards, Martin & Poon.

Wow, Good luck with Ban Kaew, They are not easy to train. They do what ever they want.

  4. a trap?? Never mind, I thought it would be more fun to have some farangs at the party. No problem. Most people that are coming are teachers, so I was hopping for some different conversation. It was a good fun last year.

  5. Does anybody fancy coming for a Christmas party on 25th of December at our house between Rayong and Klaeng (in the hills)? We usually have many women, not many men. If you do, send me an e-mail and send you the directions to our house.

  6. I used to live where there were lot's of ticks around in Suttisarn many many years ago and a dog I had then got lot's of ticks in his ears. I took him to the vet and the vet simply used a pincet to remove them (then some cream applied with a cutton bud), 15-20 or so in each ear. Worked perfectly. I used a pincet to remove them myself after that and it worked perfectly agan. Nothing! works very well to stop the ticks from coming back if you live in an area with lot's of ticks, sorry

Nothing he can do first seemed like a strange comment from a vet but if you aren't allowed to do it on your own dog, then the vet won't either of course. 7 months is still just a child, ticks in the dogs ears itch like hel_l, let him get used to you touching his ears by scratching him in his ears a bit first, he'll like that. Continue for a week or so building acceptance that the scratching feels good. Then demand more and tell him how good he is accepting it. And at the end of the day, 7 months is a playful puppy, albeit a bit big, you should train him to accept it. Be a bit tougher perhaps, in a nice way of course

    Good Luck

Yes, I understand. There is no problem taking the ticks from his ears, I can reach quite far it is the ticks very deep that I can't reach and he is not happy with me trying. Today Vet give me some pills, so I will try. Hope it will not poison the dog.

Don't worry, the pills won't poison him. Could make him feel a bit down but humans feel the same from some medication :)

Tick lives on the tarmac, around trees, where you have grass, pots etc. Any chance you can reduce the amount of that? Won't stop them totally because they come anyway from neighbours, everywhere, but at least in less numbers. Dirty cement will also attract tick, scrubbing the cement clean with metal brush and washing powder helps (but it's one heck of a job, has to be done evey 10 days or so for it to help...)

OK , Will have a go at the weekend.Thanks. No problem if he is a bit down. lol. He is mad as a hatter.

  10. HI

I have been teaching at same school for 4 years now, and today they informed me that Education Office can’t approve my application for a visa extension, because I don’t have a teacher’s license. I have a blue book which say Teachers license on the front, but apparently that is not a proper teachers licence.Nobody can explain to me, what I really need. School is at lost, no idea what they want. They started talking about some sort of test that I have to take in Bangkok? Any idea what that is about?

  11. Would love to have a German shepherd. Bought a puppy for 5000 baht one year ago and it died of distemper few weeks later. Was vaccinated and vet treated, but could not save him. Last months after disinfecting all house, bought another one for 8000 baht - vaccinated as well but it died last week of distemper again. Don't know what else to do. Would love to have a new one, but affright it will die again. Any suggestions??? Or just give up?

  12. If you'd done that in England you'd have lost your license for a year for being drunk in charge of a vehicle.
I used to live in England. In terms of drink and drive, England is by far the worst country I have ever experienced. And I am not talking "slightly over the limit", I'm talking "schmammered beyond belief". I have never seen so many peoplo with utter and complete disrespect to law and regulations. No one ever got caught.

You are talking utter rubbish. many people get caught and they loose the license. Most people do respect the law in UK and don't drink and drive. Don't know where you lived and what social circle did you joined.

  13. Hi. My puppy german shepherd died last month, I believe - distemper. He was inoculated but it did not help. I am thinking about getting another one, but worried about the illness being still around the house. I think my neighbours dog died as well of the same.Do you think it would be safe to bring another dog home? What is the best age for the puppy to be inoculated? And would it work for sure?

  14. Two months ago I saw a great looking German Shepherd puppy in the local shop in Klaeng (Rayong). The local owner is the Vet, so after he showed me a book with all the inoculations, we bought the puppy and took it home. It was a great little rascal, but it would eat very little. We went back to the Vet and purchased lots of medicine to make him well. We got all expensive stuff, because it was recommended by the Vet. We fell in love with the puppy, but unfortunately after two weeks, it still was not well. More visits to the Vet and more medicine. Then the puppy started showing signs of pain when moving we decided to take him to an animal hospital in Rayong. By that time the puppy started having convolution and was diagnosed with distemper. He was in pain and we decided to let the hospital to put him to sleep rather them suffer any more. We both miss him very much, maybe would like to have another Alsatian puppy, but we are very reluctant to trust a Vet or any pet shop. Here in Thailand, everybody is just concerned about money they can make, and the well being of the animals is a little of importance to them.

  15. Does anybody tried to grow Paulownia ( Kiri) trees in Thailand? Have a few rais in Rayong province I would like to use and seen a lot of information’s on the net from all around the globe, but nobody in Thailand. Just heard from Thai man, who planted 200, trees and they grew very fast first year, slowed down in second year and died in the third year. Anyone is growing them ???

  17. HI

My friend in UK is asking me for advice. What do you think? He would like to buy a piece of land in Thailand and develop it as a naturist resort – mainly for European people. He did ask at the Thai Embassy in London and they told him that basically they don’t know if it would be tolerated or not. Apparently it is up to a local police to decide. Obviously he does not want to invest money into a project, if it would be closed down soon after. What do you think?
