  1. Out dog has lots of ticks and does not matter what I get-shampoo, powder, even some stuff from the vet, nothing seems to work.I get them out one day and next day another 20 or so.He is Thai dog, would not stay in the house.Anybody has any better idea what can be done?

  2. Unfortunately I have no picture, but we have two birds visiting our garden in Rayong province and I looked around interned sites and can’t identify them. Any ideas? Big maybe size of a small chicken, black with brown wings, longish tail feathers, and making strange sound, Hu, Hu.hu, I thought it was a monkey first time. Lol.

  3. It’s very simple,- marriage ceremony without going to Ampur and registering the marriage is proper marriage in Thai eyes, OK for the family and the neighbors. In any legal matter your partner will not be considered as your wife, you can’t inherit or have no legal right to any of her possession. Same applies to you. As to the custody of the children- you have no chance without your marriage being registered in the local Ampur. If you register your marriage , then having the certificate officially translated into English, your marriage is accepted in UK.

  4. Kids finished the exams at my school and had nothing to do, so I suggested taking all the kids to the seaside and making them to pick up the rubbish and clean the beach. The head teacher and everybody in school thought this was a great joke and they all laughs like silly. Still don’t understand what’s funny about it, but I am not Thai.????????

  5. I got same one in my garden, just had babies, here is a picture of the little one.they are much more colorful. It is Rhabdophis subminiatus

Rednecked Keelback and it has strong poison, but its not agresive, just make sure you don't step on it.

  6. Don't worry , I will not kill them or move them, they are lovely animals and I think they were here before I moved in, so I have no right to remove them.

  7. Any snake expert knows what this is? We have a large one about 1m long in our garden and now we have few little ones as well, visiting the house. Is it dangerous? Don’t seem aggressive, but quite fast

  8. I don't really need to know where she is and if the ex pats can't help, I have no chance with Thai people, she is just a dark poor girl and they don't understand , why I worry about her. They always assume that there is something else behind it and all farangs are weird and after something.

  9. Yes I am in Thailand- south and I really can't go to Chang Mai. Maybe this is not a good place to post the message, but I thought there is a chance. I don't really want to truck down this girl, I want to know that she is OK and does not need any help.Maybe I am worried about nothing, she has her freedom and she is OK I hope. She is just a friend and got to know her , she is lovely girl and she has nobody, no family to help her out.

  10. This article was removed from Chang Mai forum, without any reasonable explanation. I understand that you can’t help me to find this person, it is against the rules. All I am asking is that if anybody recognize this girl to tell her that Alex is not angry with her for running away an if she needs any help at all, to phone me at 08xxxxx. Please understand this- she is very vulnerable person, spend more then one year in the institution, long time on tranquilizers and I am concerned about her.

About year ago I wrote a story called Beggars on the Thai visa.com. It was about a young girl, taken into a care by social services in Bangkok. She was kept more or less as a prisoner, because she had nobody to take care of her. I have been trying to help her, for a year now sending her money and parcels. I have offered many times to the Home for destitute females, that I and my wife will take care of her, she can live with us and we will help her to find a job and keep an eye on her. She is really lovely girl, but unfortunately had many problems in her life on got hooked on drink at age of sixteen. Just a week ago I have heard that she run away from the place and most probably went to a girl that she befriended, who lives in Pattaya area. According to the centre her friend is a prostitute, but they would not give us her name. Our young friend name is Pegun; she is about 20 years old, boyish looking. I am quite glad that she got a freedom she wanted, but at the same time worried that she will end up on the street again. We would still like to help her, but she maybe is afraid that we will take her back to the Home and so she did not get in touch with us. No way would we do that.

Since this article I have learned from her friends that she went to Chang Mai and is working in the restaurant. Probably changed her name, because she has no ID. That is why I am asking you, please if you recognize her in Chang Mai, just tell her to phone Alex. , and don’t worry about anything, we will not reveal her whereabouts we want to know that she is OK. She speaks reasonable English.

I would enclose her picture if the administrators let me, this forum seems to be very heavily censored

  11. Does having too much money make a country bad and the people arrogant?...I dont think so.

As for the law being too strict..Its strict for the minor crimes and slack for the more serious crimes.

Which country am I comparing the UK with?...Im not.I stated that I have seen a decline in the UK over the years and this is one of the reasons I relocated to Thailand.I have travelled to many countries and can list a few I would rather live in than the UK..Australia included, great place.

My main area of concern for the Uk is the crime rate, its out of control.I'm from South East London and the whole place is teeming with crime. Most of this crime is commited by immigrants and usually the government and the media turn a blind eye to this type of crime because they cant be seen as "racist". It's been out of hand for a long time and it's getting worse.

And you think things are better in Thailand? The UK would have a very long way to fall before it reached the level of Thailand in almost every way. Thats why the UK is a Developed country and Thailand a Developing country. Do you think the police are better in Thailand? Do you think the criminals are better behaved? There are steel bars on every window in Thailand for a reason you know. Being ferang there is a good chance that if you ever have a dispute with a Thai, and the law is involved, you will be able to witness the exact opposite of what you are complaining about in the UK. That should make you happy.

You are now a ferang in Thailand. You do not have that many rights. Racism is ok here in Thailand. Good choice.

very much agree with that, well said.

  12. I think most of you are absolutely crazy and not lived anywhere else. Why do you think so many people from all over the World come to UK? Because it is still the greatest country in the World. People make the country and especially the older generations of English people are very caring, polite and nicest people I have ever met. and I live in quite few places. The whole democratic system is very good; you get what most people voted for, everything works, hardly any corruption, goods made in England are good quality and law applies to anybody regardless of race or wealth. What about the English sense of humor? Nonexistent anywhere else. Nobody dies in England because they can’t afford the medical treatment, nobody goes hungry. No way can you compare England to Thailand. OK, crime is rife in big cities, but what other place you know, where it is different? I am from Kent and it is much safer then most Asian countryside.

Majority of English people are very honest, never had to lock my door when I went to the beach, can’t say the same about living here. The only problem is that cost of living is gone up so much that it is getting to be real struggle to make the ends meet, if you don’t have decent job, plus the shitty weather.

  13. Good fun hey! I was flying from London and our engine was on fire, flames were coming out of it, then the second engine started smoking, captain on the intercom telling everybody not to panic, that we can fly on one engine if need to. Very professional and calm with a bit of humor. All the Brits were very cool, joking, but few Asians started crying, but the staff was excellent and British Airways deserve congratulation for the way it was handled.
