I had a good experience with our snake. Quite a biggish – about 1m and half. Did not know what it was so called out Thai neighborhood. After a lots of searching in the Thai English dictionaries, and lots and lots of talking, they finally found the right name. They showed me the dictionaries and the proper English name, and this is it..……….. A SNAKE.

In tropical climes there are certain times of day
When all the citizens retire to tear their clothes off and perspire.
It's one of the rules that the greatest fools obey,
Because the sun is much too sultry
And one must avoid its ultry-violet ray.
The natives grieve when the white men leave their huts,
Because they're obviously, definitely nuts!
Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun,
The Japanese don´t care to, the Chinese wouldn´t dare to,
Hindus and Argentines sleep firmly from twelve to one
But Englishmen detest-a siesta.
In the Philippines they have lovely screens to protect you from the glare.
In the Malay States, there are hats like plates which the Britishers won't wear.
At twelve noon the natives swoon and no further work is done,
But mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.
It's such a surprise for the Eastern eyes to see,
that though the English are effete, they're quite impervious to heat,
When the white man rides every native hides in glee,
Because the simple creatures hope he will impale his solar topee on a tree.
It seems such a shame when the English claim the earth,
They give rise to such hilarity and mirth.
Ha ha ha ha hoo hoo hoo hoo hee hee hee hee ......
Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.
The toughest Burmese bandit can never understand it.
In Rangoon the heat of noon is just what the natives shun,
They put their Scotch or Rye down, and lie down.
In a jungle town where the sun beats down to the rage of man and beast
The English garb of the English sahib merely gets a bit more creased.
In Bangkok at twelve o'clock they foam at the mouth and run,
But mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.
Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.
The smallest Malay rabbit deplores this foolish habit.
In Hong Kong they strike a gong and fire off a noonday gun,
To reprimand each inmate who's in late.
In the mangrove swamps where the python romps
there is peace from twelve till two.
Even caribous lie around and snooze, for there's nothing else to do.
In Bengal to move at all is seldom ever done,
But mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.

What are you talking about? The weather is great. Forget about A/C and get used to it. I have only been here for two years and I can’t wait for the sunshine to come back.
At the moment is a bit overcast and chilly. Instead of loosing weight I started putting some on. Mind you it could be the beer.

I work for large private school. Been there now for over a year and I am not paying any tax. I would like to pay, because I got married and would like to change my visa to marriage visa, and the requirement is that you have to show tax on your earnings for at least three months back. but schools tell me that none of the 100 or so teacher pay tax.
I talked to few people and was advised not to rock the boat, the school must be on some sort of tax fiddle, and if I try I may loose my job. I have working permit and visa B. Any idea how to work something out, so I can apply for a marriage visa?

Missing kittens
We had four lovely kittens. Black, white, three colors and two colors. First our favorite, the black one disappeared, and three weeks latter the white got missing.Neighbour told us that he has seen a big snake in our garden. Anybody had experience of a snake eating kittens? Is it possible? Now we have two kittens and another three week passed, let’s hope not another disappearing act. They are now 10 weeks old.

There was a small accident outside our house, last week. Car reversed out of drive and clipped old lady on the motorbike. She fell off and cracked her head on the road. Dead on the spot. Obviously-no helmet. Even the cheap crappy helmet and she still be alive today.

Anybody famous here? What is your claim to fame? Movie star? Well know relatives?
My only claim is that my uncle Joseph Frantisek was the highest scoring pilot in Battle of Britain. What about you?

People, why when someone dies, do we have to turn it into the same debate?
Thailand is not perfect, by doing this we loose the impact of the original post, people die, when they should not, but none of us can change that, so instead of debating over the fact, can we not just pay our respects. A life has been lost yet again because of inept, we all know that, but why keep saying the same things time and time again.
Debating is a healthy way to help us understand what might have went wrong, and thus enlighten people, and hopefully move forward. Pay your respects by all means.
But dont suppose that this girls family will get any comfort from what you write on this forum. At the end of the day those of us whom have never met this poor girl wont lose any sleep - so lets not pretend. Debate is healthy and normal. Say a little pray in private by all means, but dont join the 'holyer than thou' club - it is condisending!
I don’t expect anything from this story .I just though that you maybe interested to know. I know that you did not known the girl, and I don’t expect you to loose any sleep over it.

Hi
I managed to cure a dog who had hardly any hair left with Coconut oil mixed with Sulphor. Rub on the skin every day and after about four weeks the dog is good as new. Full hair and lease of new life, he is happy as a sandboy.
